Is there any way I can configure the 'back' button on my Pro to actually, close programs instead of just leaving them running in the background eating up resources???
I've set the "tap x to close programs" setting but it doesn't seem to make any difference and I really hate having to press that little "x" key in the top right corner with my big thumbs!!! I also checked out the "Raphael Tweaks" but nothing on there either.
Anyone got any ideas????

I use WkTask manager that actually close programs with back button.
Disable HTC task manager and install WkTask (freeware).

Done.

I think every task manager which does it's job will do that, exept the HTC Task Manager crap.
OK this is really getting me down now!!!
these various task managers, like the default HTC app, all close the application when you TOUCH the 'x' button but they don't do it if you press the hardware <- 'back' button??
I also notice that unlike my Artemis when you go into settings -> buttons only 1 button action, Button 1 (hold), is available. where the other 3 buttons are is a mystery button 1 btw turns out to be the phone send button.
So my question is two fold, before I throw my TP out the nearest window...
1. does anybody know of a way to configure a TP so that when you press the back button it actually closes the application?
2. anybody know if there is a registry key or someway to add the other 3 hardware buttons to the settings -> buttons configuration app??
Pls help before I go totally MAD!!!

Hooooo Rahhhhhhhh I found a solution... and it's called HandySwitcher from Dinar Soft and it works perfectly. You have to pay for it but I would willingly pay 10 times the 10 Euro price tag to keep my sanity!!!
You could try AE Button Plus to map different functions to existing buttons (including single, double, triple click and long press).
I've never used wktask, omg.. Why?
Its so nice... thanks for this thread lol
only thing I miss is the memory usage in % that htc task manager got
Not tried AE Buttton but I did try WKTask and I thought the interface was a bit "clunky" to be honest but more importantly the hardware mode didn't work so using the <- button didn't actually close the applications which was what I was looking for.

works good, only breaks the notification when clicking on the icons on top. Further too bad cannot close all tasks at once. Would be better if it was more configurable, but now i can switch between programs fast
thanks!
Breaks notification screen and cant figure out how to open it. Think i will stick with Dutty's task manager

Install it a second time, it will tell you it will uninstall first, press ok and after reinstall reboot and it will be there.
Thanks for all the info!
But notification bar is still broken..I mean it still shows everything correctly, but once I tap it there are rather ugly windows menus instead of the original one...
Dear Developer....Have installed this ROM and its running quite fine over the Phone.
Would like to thank you for all the hard work of yours.
However, the homescreen of this ROM is having margin from Phone's edge from all 4 side in my HTC HD2 with small boxes in 3 sides. Is this normal feature of this?
Further, my phone is getting soft rebooted again and again after installation.
Pls. help me out.

Hi, thanks for trying my rom.
The 3 boxes are the dockbars, it is normal for them to be there as this uses VTL Launcher.
If you want to remove any of them do this:
From your homescreen press the menu button (Bottom-center windows button) and select "VTL Settings". Now select "UI Settings" and you will see the ticks for the right, left & bottom dockbars
Don't know why it's rebooting?!?! Have you installed any extra apps?
I got the latest Cyanogenmod version on my phone today and I noticed that apps that have the menu bar at the top right hand corner (the three vertical dots) don't have it anymore. For example, the Google Chrome app no longer has the menu and you can't do things like open an incognito tab.
Does anybody know if this is a known issue with cyanogenmod? Thanks!

hope that helps.
Hi,
I am trying to remove the search bar at the top of my screen but for whatever reason it doesn't give me any options anywhere to do so. I don't have google installed. The search bar does nothing when I touch it. I can't move it around and long pressing the home screen in to the settings doesn't give me any checkbox to remove it from the screen. Very annoying and I just want it gone to at least use the space for something else.
Thank you
I have the same problem
Lineage 16, s4 mini i9195i
Any solution?

Is it not under Home screen settings?
I apologize for not closing this! It was fixed in a later build couple months back. No more issues. Thank you.
