Missing calls and texts - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Not sure what this issue could be. A lot of people say every so often that they call me back to back at times. I get no missed calls notifications. Same with text sometimes. Not sure if its ATT or what. Happens at home and when I'm out. Anyone else experience this?

1. Belongs in Q&A
2. Are you rooted?
3. If so, What ROM, kernel?
4. Did you do a clean flash or you didn't wipe?
5. Check if you have signal it could be just dead areas you're in.
6. If stock, it's probably due to bad signal.

Sorry thought I did post it there.
I'm rooted, Rohans B5 kernel, clean flash to King Kang. This has been happening for awhile before this ROM. I'm on WiFi and the signal bar is full

You don't have to unroot or relock it I had a problem with LTE and was fixed getting a new SIM card. They saw that my phone was rooted. So don't do that.

I was having the same issue with calls and voicemails. I called AT&T and they did a reset on their end which did involve reboot on my end but it didn't have any other impact as far as data and root and they then tested the response on the phone and it had improved significantly. This was right around the time Sandy hit.

So called att and they reset my connection and put in a ticket.
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2

i had this exact problem.
att first reset my sim card or something via phone support. nothing.
they then replaced my phone with a new one x. nothing.
reset my sim. nothing.
replaced my sim. nothing.
at that point i guess i was SOL. it wasnt happening all the time, but it was happening occasionally, so i just bared with it.
i dont know when i noticed it stop happening and fix itself, but it wasnt till after i achieved root and flashed a different rom that i noticed it gone completely.
i do live in an area that has poor reception for most carriers, yet down the street reception is perfectly fine.
i would miss calls, and not receive missed call notifications. i did not receive texts at times, and wouldnt notice till i was flooded by a few text messages all at once with time stamps corresponding to past few hours. sometimes me using an app on wifi/data would trigger all my text messages to come in at once.
now, i know it wasnt necessarily an issue of reception or service, because during some of those "blackout" periods that i happened to catch, i did have service and would be using my phone for miscellaneous things, then get flooded by texts and email notifications later
hope this helps in some way

So I've had the same problem with mine...it will show full service but I won't be able to send out texts or calls and I won't be able to receive any either. They replaced my sim but still had the same problems. Is the only way to fix this by flashing a different rom?

Same issue here. I called both verizon and htc... they gave me the same answer. It is a roll out issue. Apparently because its in phases... whatever. My first tbolt came down fine; this is a replacement for a broken power button and now nothing. but at least I still have free tether! HA HA fail/win you decide.
Drop down to 1X and then search for it. Once you find the update, switch back to 3G/4G to expedite the download. Worked on my girlfriend's Thunderbolt.

Yep! i was rooted up until yesterday. While rooted I checked for & successfully detected it. But I rejected. Did a full backup using TiB and ROMManager first then unrooted. Now that I am unrooted, I cannot detect the update anymore. Been trying for 24hrs.
Just going to give up and reroot using the rooted update.

dropping to 1X doesn't work for me. However, here's how you drop to 1X:
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Then go to "Phone Info"
Scroll down and choose "CDMA Only" from the Drop Down. Note the setting before you change it so as to revert later on.
Good Luck and let us know if it works for you.

data has been i think, a little better on 1.88...will report back i had to set up the apn cause it is based off the Asia rom i believe.. but so far decent, Im at work so i can't test much
1.73 gave me one data drop. I get 3 or more daily on 1.85. Perhaps that's why it's a leak and not official. Did the dual apn trick this morning. Haven't lost data yet, fingers crossed. I have seen a good amount of posts saying 1.88 is better in this regard.

Is this normal? (New to at&t after many years)

Ive been on verizon for years and made the switch over to at&t to get the one x and have to say Im loving it. At&t has really made big improvements to there network as far as everywhere around my area goes.
Here is whats going on though:
Every now and then I can pull my phone out and turn the screen on to see it show full bars E then 5 seconds later it will change to full bars G then another 5 or so seconds full bars 4G. Its not a big deal but just wondering is it normal?
Another thing Ive noticed is when I leave my driveway of my house and get out of range of my wifi it will go to no service then to 4g. Its fairly quick but I dont remember it with any other phone Ive owned.
Could be signal issues with your towers or a sim card issue .

Its not the service its the phone. It takes a while to realize the data connection has changed and therefore updates it slowly. You should be fine its just annoying as hell if you are watching it all the time.

Yeh its more of a mental thing than anything. It hasnt every caused me problems as actually using the phone but watching it cycle through E-G-then 4G a few times every day is starting to get to me. Ive tried all the radios also and Im currently on 1.88 as it seems to have the best speeds. Maybe I should try a new sim.

I was having similar issues until I upgraded to the 1.88 RUU. Now I'm running CM9 with no data issues. I think it is the phone or rather the software. Data would stay on E but there was no signal. Had to reboot the doggone phone ever so often just to connect to data.

Random Intense Vibration?

I've looked around here and haven't seen an issue similar to what's going on with mine.
It's happened a few times now, where the phone just randomly starts to vibrate, for ~5 seconds. No notifications, not even touching the phone. It just randomly vibrates. My last One X I swapped out on Friday due to some sound issues, that one never did this strange vibrate. I think this is the 3rd or 4th time it's done this in just as many days.
Has anyone had a similar issue?
Thanks.

ICS Bolt Suddenly Stuck on EvDo (1X)

I got a new Bolt a few weeks ago and threw the full DeOdex Sense ICS ROM on there by Santod. It was working perfectly fine until a few days ago, when it got stuck on 1X, or EvDo.
Before you respond, please READ WHAT I HAVE ALREADY DONE to try and fix this:
Powered the phone down
Battery pull
SIM card pull
Power cycle
Moved to another cell tower
Visited family over 500 miles away (yes, it was on 1X the entire trip)
Reinstalled the radios in Bootloader
Reinstalled the kernel
I even tried the, "##778#" fix and it does NOTHING
I can't think of anything else.

I'll try that, can't hurt.
I also have started to get SMS errors. I will be texting someone then at a random message it will repeatedly tell me that the message couldn't be sent even though I have 1X and multiple bars. After a while, it lets me send the message.
Probably because you're on 1x.

Check the connectors on the battery cover. If not in good contact it will leave you permanently stuck in 1x.

This happened to me recently too. My texts, especially MMS, couldn't be sent and I got error messages about getting them too, all while I couldn't get consistent data. I agree. Get a new SIM.
