manual way to root ICS? - Motorola Atrix 2

Is there a manual way to root the ICS leak???
i'm having issues doing the click method from the root 2.3.6/4.0.4 thread on the developers section.
And i actually prefer to do it manually so i know whats going on

You can try again in another computed or in a virtual pc.

Kinda stupid question but do you have debugging on? Haha

(Q) Is there a way to root and recovery without a pc?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this. Im new to the SGS4G but not to android. I was wondering is there a way to root and install custom recovery without using a pc? I appologize if this has been asked before. Any info would be appreciated.

Not really sure what you're asking but both of the root methods used for the thunderbolt require the use of a computer. I personally recommend Jcase's method because it gives you insight to the way the tb works and basic adb experience.

It is actually possible to root without a computer. Apps like z4root work, but I can't remember for which devices

It works only on devices vulnerable to the exploit it uses. This is not one of those devices, hence the answer of no.

Just reflash.
Like lumin says reflash. Use the second link in his signature.
However what rom are/were you on?If it is not a stock based rom dont use the reset feature within the phone use the one in recovery.
Thanks lumin you continue to be a trusted advisor. I flashed
a stock gingerbread from lumin last week.

So since i'm about to flash i'm a little interested in a different ROM. Are there any perfect roms for this device?

Perfect is a hard statement to make. Any of the ICS flavors are pretty stable there are bugs but even stock roms have bugs. I think barebones by antonx is a good one and VB by FB is too.
Is it add simple as installing stock GB was using heimdall? I've read good things about VB would you possibly post a link? Most I click on are dead/inoperable...

I answered this question in the stupid questions thread, where he asked it again. Posting the same Q's in multiple threads won't help you get a faster answer.

Actually I think it did. But since your so quick to make BASELESS accusations I will explain. I'm new and didn't really know where to put it. After my first post I decided it fit better elsewhere. Tasks for inquiring jacka**

Had that problem before u just reflash the ROM. As long as u can still go to cwm recovery
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
It un rooted itself again! Wth. I dont have cwm. How do I get that?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Run Gremlin Remover and go from there. You will have root and CWM to flash the ROM you want.

I'm not sure that I understand the cwm. Click work mod? I put that on my CPU and tether it with the market app? Sorry this is still very new to me...
