Upgrading from Non-LTE Phone - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi. I searched the forum but could not find a similar thread, so sorry if this has been covered in the past.
I currently have a ATT Galaxy S2 and I bought a HTC One X (ATT Version) on ebay that I should receive next week. The sim card I currently use in my GS2 is the 3g/LTE version and I know this because I have the original packing of the sim card and it says 3G/LTE. So when I get my One X I have to cut my sim card to fit the One X. Is this all I have to do since my sim card is LTE ready or do I have to contact ATT to change something in my data plan to LTE? Will my monthly rate increase because I'll be using LTE ( I think not, but just want confirmation)?
Thanks

You are probably going to have to change your plan to some late plan.

You need to call AT&T and add LTE to your account. There is no change.
Also, if you buy the phone from AT&T, it will include a micro SIM. No need to cut one.

You will want to grab a new sim. If the sim card number does not match up as lte micro sim it won't let you add the lte plan on your account

I didn't have to buy a new sim to get the lte plan. I just cut my sim, called at&t and got lte added. They may have changed protocol or something, but I didn't need to.

The sims are the same. Just different size. If you go to a corporate store they are free. I work at one and we are always glad to to change a sim and make sure your plan is provisioned properly. (Was a big rooter/android fan since the g1 which inspired me to work for att)

Micro Sim Resizing Options

I just found out the One S uses a micr-sim. I bought one off contract for my wife and am wondering if I can just use this hack to resize her current sim or if I'm going to have to go through T-Mo?
Anyone hacked theirs up with success?
Thanks!
If you cut it currectly, then you can cut the existing sim... In case it goes wrong - you can always go to carrier and get a new sim

Go back to the store and get the gba micro sim, the go to microsimshop.com and order their adapter so you can go back to a device that uses the full size sim without purchasing any issues.

not for me...
If you're using the T-Mobile branded One S then you'd want to update your SIM card or else the wi-fi calling has a strong probability not to work.
And then as the other guy said get an adapter to be able to make it a full size SIM card.

I recently cut my SIM down to microSIM size, using a scalpel and a ruler. Kept the cutout so that I could use the SIM in both my Desire and One S.
NB: had to file it down a bit more because it got stuck in the One S in the shop as I was, erm, testing - rather embarrassing

Has anyone tried to Repurpose to Tmobile ?

Has anyone tried to re-purpose the modem so it will work 3 or 4 g on Tmobile USA ?
Not possible. Only edge can work. Enjoy

I went around. In mmcblk0p2 you can edit the hex file sim carrier lock to T-Mobile. You will only get edge. After S=off you'll be able to get up to 4G using the diag GUI to change cell bands.

You can only purchase sim cards online just be sure to get the micro sim for AT&T. Your phone doesn't need to be unlocked either if its an AT&T phone. I'm running my One X on straight talk without problem.

I don't get it. Why don't more people use straight talk instead of carriers like att? $45 a month is A LOT cheaper than an att bill. Is there some sort of catch with straight talk. Like say for example someone gets an unlocked gsm Galaxy Nexus. It seems like a no-brainer to get straight talk, but yet some go with att. With straight talk being unlimited data, voice, and text for $45 a month with no contract, you would think more people would use it.

Not a lot of people know about it. I recently discovered it 4 months ago because people kept on saying to get it in forums but yeah its way cheaper and WAY BETTER service than Sprint. I used to pay 100+ for crappy reception and 3g that would kill my battery.

It does. It can also use verizon towers depending on your service area. They basically just sub-let the towers.
It's tracfone's semi-new service.

Simple Mobile is T-Mobile, And the HTC One X only supports the Edge frequency on T-Mobiles towers. I heard that some areas are getting 3g that are compatible with the HTC One X's 3g bands but thats dependent on area.
