Freakin wierd SD card problem! - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
I hope that someone here would find a good solution for my absolute freaky wierdo problem!
So... The problem is with my SDcard.. or my phone, not sure about that!
Just installed v20G after a while of googleing and searching about that problem.
The phone just wants to detect my SDcard. Even in CWM it wonts detect, it wants to format and says like cant mount sd card...
and here comes the wierd thing:
1. I put the SDcard into my pcs card reader
2. Format the SDcard and its nice and clean (empty)
3. Put it back into my phone
4. Made a phone reboot
5. put my SD card back to PC
AND there you GO, there is a .android_something folder and some stuff... and everytime I do that (sdcard format, phone reboot), I get this files on my fully formated SDcard.
So Im not sure whats happening there but I please you to help me! Cause Im going crazy.
Cant even do something, installed ROM Manager to install CWM or any rom... but NO... I need a freakin SD card...
Thnx in advance people!
FOUND THE SOLUTION...
OMG LOL OMG!
I had the same issue on my P500 Optimus One and I solved it with a small piece of paper.
I fold small piece of paper once and set it between SD card and the lid that covers it in order to make it press the SD card against the metal contacts and forced a bit to close the lid.
After that, my mobile recognize the SD card and had not rebooted or unmounted my SD card.
It seems to me to be a LG design issue when developing this lid and the way the SD card is inserted.

Storage Card Cant Be Read

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
ok i turn on my phone and my storage card isnt showing up on my file explorer
and i have alot of things installed to it.
i am using a 8125
someone help
For start try the easy things.
Turn off your phone. Pop out your Storage card & clean it. Also blow (with your mouth ) in the slot. Put the card in again & turn on the phone.
If this doesn't work try & see if the card is working with a card reader (I hope that you have one). With the card reader back up your data & format it at FAT32.
If the phone still doesn't see it try formating it at FAT.
If nothing of the above works & also the card reader doesn't even see the card, then you have a corrupted / damaged card .
If nothing of the above works & the card reader can see the card, hard reset your phone & then try again. Of course with the hard reset you will lost all your data .
I hope something of the above to work for you...

You can do it only with a card reader or another phone .
I had the lousy 8125 for far too long. I never could get it to recognize a memory card. AT&T pushed the phone out to the market too early with a processor that choked on the OS alone,....that is why the 8525 came out just a short 3 months later.

Do you modify ur device? Did you perhaps install a Startmenu to Dll/Service instead of using an exe to start the starmenu application?

Please Help. sd card wont mount.

I plugged my phone into the laptop and the install drivers thing came up and i was doing it but for some reason my wireless connection was acting up so i just cancelled knowing that i'd do it later but now i plug the phone in and the install drivers thing doesnt pop up. even when i select mount on the phone. so i knows my phone is there but doesnt read my sd card. can anyone help? im using windows. (i know there is another thread like this but they had problems after spliting the sd card, i havent done that so its a different issue)
Still asking for help from fellow members, I'm trying to start themeing and I wanna split my sd card so I need ythe laptop to read my sd card
I have the exact same stupid problem... It is extremely frustrating.. I have been told that it might be a problem with the type of SD card that you are using (Transend, San Disk.. ect). Im trying to Update to Stock rc 33 from root. (root to unroot). Any ideas..? It also might depend on what route you are taking to copy the theme, update ect to the the SD card... faulty USB cord or through a faulty card reader.. which could in turn corrupt the file.. you know what i mean..? lol ugh.. It is a hugggge pain in the arse.

[Q] SD Card damaged

Hi guys need a little help here..
So my phone froze up earlier today and seemed that it shutdown, so no problem right, battery pull then reboot... Unfortunately, after rebooting after the "preparing sd card" prompt it said "Damaged SD Card" sd card damaged you.may have to reformat it.
Any ideas..??? I'm quite confused too as my sd-ext is mounting fine and I can go ahead and open it via root explorer, and I'm sure it's fine coz I'm able to open apps that I know are on SD.. but what's up with th fat32..? Sadly I don't have any backups.. any workarounds I can try before reformatting everything..? (Not even sure if reformat will do any good, as it is possible that the card itself got corrupt, though hopefully not)
Suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!!

Alright so HM you are spot on my friend, tried reading it on the PC and loaded just fine, so I ran chkdsk and selected both options, slapped it back on my phone et voila! Good as new! Thanks for the help, I panicked a little and posted this straight away via mobile app, as it got "damaged" while I was in the office and had no means of checking my SD card via PC.. Again many thanks!
Although 1 question comes in mind, what could've caused this? As of course I would definitely want to prevent this from happening in the future.
if you could not reformat it through usual way, try low level format. work on me all the time when my sd card corrupted. but you have u back up first while u still can cuz when its done, kinda hard to get back up the data.
I would also check for a corrupted file somewhere on your SD card. It will be the one that you were working on before the freeze. If you go and try to delete it, surpirise, it won't delete. I had this same problem and ended up just renaming the folder "bug". Tried to move it over to PC and use Unlocker or File Assassin and no luck. Finally ended up pulling everything off the card and reformating completely.
Check you media and any icons that are grey with an ! in there. Easy fix for that is to go into DCIM/ Thunbnails and delete the top two items that aren't actaully thumbnails. Then go to settings and unmount->remount sdcard to initiate the media scanner. This way you don't have to delete the grey! picture to bring it back into good standing and the picture won't be lost.
Chances are that it happened b/c something interupted whatever you were doing and fritzed out the SD card. Maybe run a sd card and sd-ext check in AOR or MZor too.

[Q] Strange SD card problem

Well, I have a class 6 16 gb samsung micro sd card using with lg p500. Two weeks ago after installing some rom(probably icysnap) after booting it can't recognize the sd card but detects it in cwm. So I know my sd card is alright. so I flashed another rom(rasheed's jb) but still it can't recognize the sd card although detected in cwm just like previous times. After then I tried a lot like formatting it,partitioning it by both CWM & Minitool from FAT32 to FAT-EXT123..every format. But nope..nothing happened. And then next morning it is recognized again. So it takes a few hours to be detected. What the heck is going on? Any solution? Can't I have flexibility to reboot my phone:crying:?
And don't I have any right to use link2sd and download more apps than it fits in internal memory:crying:!
maybe your phone doesn't recognize sd card because of some permisions, try fix permisions from cwm
Format it again in PC.. dont use Quick format method. Size allocation DEFAULT. Dont patition it this time. Try different kernels.
Still if you face the problem.. get another MicroSD card.. buy transcend.

another thing, on playstore is an app named PIMPMYROM, I used it to zipalign and move data to sd but I do not recommend in your case to move data to SD, you can try it , it is free, but beware some things may brick your phone
another thing is to check SD slot with a multimeter to see if all pins have same voltage/amps
and as rr0yy says, try with another SD card, maybe this one isn't too good and is too lazy and moves with the speed of a rabid snail

Well..my $15 Micromax phone instantly detects teh card. I think there is no problem with the card but the reader in the phone. And I tried everything like fixing permission in cwm.

First, check the card reader, make sure the lock is off (you can find it in the left side of the card reader)
Then, check the gold bar in the back side and make sure there is no dust
If still persist, try to enter and re-enter the card reader to your sd card slot in computer.
If it really really still persist, then you should buy the new one :fingers-crossed:
Hope it helped!

It really doesn't matter if you unmount it first, that shouldn't break the SD Card (personal experience), It's most likely your SD Card is locked whilst locked it's probably also corrupted, Make sure you haven't got the lock on the SD Card reader (The little nob on the side should be alligned with the word 'Lock' this means Lock is off)
