Plex on Surface? - Microsoft Surface

Any Plex users out there have the Web Client added to your Flash site white list?
A user reported on the Plex forums that it indeed works. Im just unsure of what web address I should add to the list.
The user that reported success hasn't answered when I replied to his thread there.
Ideas anyone?

I don't use it, personally, but you should be able to just use the domain at the top in the address bar (only the main DOMAIN.TLD is required, not subdomains). Remember to refresh the page after enabling it.

I'm with you on this one. I read a lot (prob same posts as you) about how to setup plex to work on the surface, but i'm not having luck. The domain that the video plays on is a web address (192.168... you get the picture), so i'm thinking that is why the whitelist trick isn't working. I tried adding myplex domain as well with no luck. Anybody have some insight on this for a noob?

Android proxy for use in testing

Hey all -
I apologize if this has been covered previously, but searches in the android forums here didn't produce results.
Is there a solution for viewing encrypted network traffic on Android? My colleagues and I use Charles Proxy to watch and alter encrypted traffic on iOS devices with relative ease, without having to involve an entire team of people to run some simple tests when we need to. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that solution works for Android, even if you have a proxy option in the device network configuration.
Does anyone have suggestions or links to existing documentation which would provide a solution to this testing scenario - or perhaps suggest a different approach, preferably one which would not involve coordinating with folks at another site?
Thanks for reading,
Sean

[Q] TTS for web browser/VoiceOver equivalent for Android?

Hi,
I've been looking for a way to have my Android phone read to me similar to iOS's VoiceOver feature. I'm running Android 2.3 but can't seem to find a way to accomplish this easily.
A couple quasi solutions I have found is to use a RSS reader, such as "FeedSpeak" or "Web Talks" that support TTS (Text to speech), however this only works for RSS feeds. Another method is to convert websites into PDF's using Dolphin Browser's "MyPDF" Add-on and use ezPDF's voice reading feature to read the PDF back.
Am I missing something that is inherent in the Android OS? Does anyone have a better app to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Voice Browser Lite: https://market.android.com/details?...dfreebrowser.lite&feature=more_from_developer
This is an excellent example of what I'm looking for, I just wish it was a little more refined. Hopefully this will help someone looking for a similar app.
Hello,
I've been looking for exactly the same solution for a while now, and ended up looking at the same SW as you mention -- but found them a bit lacking. And yes, I agree, Voice Browser is annoyingly close. What bothers me the most is why isn't that one a browser plugin that can be activated only when needed.
Sorry if this doesn't provide you with any added knowledge (apart from the consolation that you exhausted all existing options).
Let us know if you find anything new / better. TIA for that.
I'm sorry for posting in a such old thread, but I was looking for exactly the same app and Google brought me here. I foud one very simple but that can satisfy the requirements of anyone looking for something similar. Here it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benigumo.speechweb
Web Speech doesn`t work for me...I just get FC's all the time...
I think it's really annoying that there is no simple App or Add-on for this feature.
In fact I find it unbelievable. Is there really no convenient solution?
dp
I wonder if the permissions in android prohibit an app like that. my understanding is that apps reallycan't interact with other apps for security purposes.
Use "Voice Reading" app for reading web pages android
"Share" the web page to "Voice Reading" (read aloud) app. You have to get the app from Googleplay. This is the best way that I have found.
It's the highest rated reading app. Remember you can 'share' any page or email.:good:

[Q] noob with some *simple?* questions

Hi all, I'm new to android app development and I'm really not looking to make anything for anyone other than myself. I am basically trying to do a couple of easy apps to help me see if the power is on at my house so I know my fish tank has power and to be able to remotely monitor the conditions of the tank from my phone. Nothing amazing or difficult but just for my own peace of mind. What seems that it should be simple has been very frustrating over the last few days. I do have a background which includes some programming, nothing extensive, but I really didn't bat an eye at the proposition of doing what I'm looking to do. I really thought I could bang something crude but usable out in a few hours with what experience I do have.
I found a how-to that shows a foundation for an app I'd like to be able to modify for my own use. It can be viewed at http (colon) (slash) (slash) media (dot) pragprog (dot) com (slash) titles (slash) mrhome (slash) light.pdf (skip to page 10) for anyone interested. I have installed eclipse and have become quite familiar with the interface. I can run the app exactly as the how-to instructs you to create it and it works flawlessly. Http requests can be seen at the server for whatever I tell it to send. However, when I export the app and install it on my phone the app loads and appears to be working fine but when I tail the web server logs to view them no incoming requests are coming from my phone. I can see the incoming http requests from the emulator but not from the phone. There are also no errors during compiling nor during running it in debug mode on the phone in eclipse via a usb cable. The common answer to similar questions to mine seems to be if the permissions are set up correctly in the Manifest file which they are AFAIK.
My suspicion is that there is something in the phone blocking outgoing http requests but there are no errors whatsoever to indicate this. I'm wondering if it is because it is an unsigned app regardless of whether or not I have the phone in debug more and regardless of the user-permissions in the Manifest file. Is there anyone who can give me a hand to understand what I might be doing wrong or differently than the author of the aforementioned pdf file? The most confusing thing is how it works flawlessly on the emulator and seems to work flawlessly on the phone until you look at the web server logs and see no incoming requests from the phone but from the emulator you see the incoming requests to the remote web server. The phone has internet access and I can even ssh to the web server or access it through a browser on the phone. It is only my app that I made that cannot access the web server. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Web Login hack?!?

Hey guys, not sure if this is the "right" place to post this question, but Im sure some of you guys have knowledge about this. I Been researching into hacking into web login sites (not emails, or to do anything bad) but to pretty much get access to photos and such on particular websites. Some of them Im sure have a FTP login around the basic web form login. Some are usernames, some are email logins and I do have a good idea on some for sure emails. Brute forcing is what Im seeing as I research, doing some look ups on hydra, and etc. They are press sites for the media for "affiliates" tv etc. I want access to the press photos for selective tv series. nothing brutally harming, I just want the photos from these sites. What are the best routes, tutorials and such for going about this (other then being in the media, and working for the station) lol... I know some domain researching is required. I do have access to KALI linux if that is a good starting point?!? Any real help would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to donate $$$$$ for help if necessary. Thanks bunches!

Futile forums supposed support

I have an issue using MX Player on android.
It is an issue specific to me as I cannot watch video or movies without subtitles.
Mx Player Plays any file I throw at it but on some of my movies will not display some lines of dialogue on the screen.
VLC has this same issue but have not fixed after I informed them probably 4 years ago.
Potplayer on Windows had this issue till I told them and they fixed within 24 hours .
I have posted this issue several times now on these forums and did get helpful response from members suggesting I should email details to support.
I have done this now on three occasions with absolutely zero response.
I think support is probably just a figment of somebody's imagination.
What is the point of advertising support if there is none.
Maybe they think it is an issue that 99% of users would not need fixed.
Anyway it is very frustrating.

Thanks at least I know support does exist.
I have emailed the information again to support using another email address and still have had no response.
What could be happening ?
Is it because the email has a link to a dropbox file ?
Maybe my URL is being blocked ?
I may have to try a VPN.
Please somebody help me communicate with support .
support still does not exist
