Send anything from your phone to anyone on your contact list.
How does it work?
1 - You press the share button in any app for anything
2 - You choose the recipient from your contact list
3 - Enter a brief message and press send. *It's that simple.
How does it really work?
When you press send, Send It takes what you want to send, uploads it to the cloud and sends the recipient an SMS with your message and link to it. *They will recieve something like the following:
Have you seen this omg it's sooo funny

Apart from it uploading the files to Gdrive and not Dropbox, how is this different from CloudSend?
They are similar but the difference is firstly the Google drive integration, not everyone has dropbox but almost every Android user has a Google Account associated with their phone and therefore Google Drive. And secondly the overall experience is smoother, imo. Obviously everyone has a preference but I wanted to develop the most universal application I could, Google Drive + SMS achieves this
crazyfool_1, how about a collaboration between you and AMPElement?
The best of both worlds?

Seems to be stuck on "Authenticating" when trying to send a picture taken with the camera. How can this be avoided? I'm using a Galaxy Note II int model.

Great concept, I'm really looking forward to trying it out. I'm constantly uploading files to drop box or pogoplug. Though I'm stuck on the authenticating process as well.

Good idea. Using GDrive instead of Dropbox really makes sense :good:
For those stuck on authenticating can you tell me which version of Android and also has it already asked you for permission to access you google drive.. thanks
First findings
Dear,
I really like the ease of use for this app; however some options would be nice:
When I open the program, I would like to see at least which account is being used
I would like to be able to change the upload location (different folder in Google Drive)
I do not see how many characters I have in my sms; most people probably don't care anymore, but when sending an sms, it is polite to show how many messages are occupied
Just for the feeling of the app, I would make sure that you 'see something happening' (chose account, message 'logging in',...), the first time you open it. Also, I would add an action to the 'menu' button: even it if it just shows 'choose upload location / change account / about'.
Apart from these smaller comments: very nice work! Simple, easy to use, does what it needs to do; there certainly is a market for this.
BTW, for those stuck at 'authentication', just try sending a file; it will ask for permissions to log in.
really appreciate the feedback.. I will add an account chooser on start, as for folder I suppose I could add a option where to put the send it folder..
also, how are people getting to see the authenticating message without trying to send a file? that shouldn't be possible..

I only get the message when trying to send a file. Could it be related to me having 2 step security set up on my Google account?
hmm yeah it could be.. it should either ask you to authenticate or it should fail.. shouldn't get stuck, I'll look into it

I just played with it for a couple of minutes, but does the app support cut & paste from a spreadsheet?
Also, I noticed that 'mode' doesn't seem to properly update. Everything else seems accurate upon first glance. Nice looking app!

Yes it supports cut & paste from a spreadsheet or anywhere else you can copy or cut from. I noticed that the data on the spreadsheet has to be horizontal because of the new line character. I will now fix that so the app can process vertical data.
For the 'mode' thing i will check it.

Awesome update and it's actually quite useful if we want to share graphs between a work group or fellow friends. I haven't seen this kind of utility in any statistics app so far, so this is just awesome. Keep it up!!!

Hey everyone. This is my first real app for Android which I've been working on and off on for quite a while now. It's called HoloiRC and it's a lightweight IRC client. Since I will have some time over the next few weeks, I can put some effort into it and really bring it up to scratch.
Basically my motivation for creating this is simple - I felt all IRC clients fell into two categories - overloaded with features and not enough focus on design or not open source. What I've tried to do is stay on the correct side of both the items.
Things that you need to know before installing:
v2.3+ compatible - Gingerbread with Holo!
Multi-server support
Fully open source!
How to help me:
If you know how to work with Android then please feel free to fork https://github.com/tilal6991/HoloIRC and send me a pull request

OK. I have no idea what the conflict between this and Expense Manager is. I don't have it installed but I don't understand what the conflict could possibly be...
Pretty cool irc client!
Any chance of adding the ability to join irc servers not in the default port?
Haha. Of course. That should be an easy addition so will deffo make into the next version.
As the commits on the repository indicate, a lot of progress has been made. Multi server support has been added and many many bugs have been squashed along with various other improvements. I hope to release another alpha later today.
App has been updated to v0.7.0 - see the second post for the changelog.
If you are coming from the previous version a data wipe or a full uninstall/reinstall is required since the server settings have been completely overhauled in the backend.
This looks like a nice alternative to AndChat. Any screenshots of it with a couple of open channels?

Yeah I'll put those up. Sorry not yet (although it's an option I want to add in a future version - I'll add that to the todo list )
Edit: the new shots are up - they are a lot clearer than the old ones.
Aw nice!
Well, according to the screenshot you already got me as a user. Will evaluate it with my ZNCs, thanks! Looks great so far.
Greets tilal, the client looks neat and sleek, better than the usual bloated clients on the Play Store. Was also nice from you to put the source code up - hope to see more updates soon
Just commited another slew of fixes along with the ability to delete servers - all this will be in the next version.
Any opinions on what you would like implemented next? I have ideas but not sure which would be considered the most important.

Yeah it's already a WIP on my local code. TBH it's a one line change but the setting implementation may take some time. That and the fact that the cards ui for the main server list looks horribly out of place
Maybe you should improve the one line then.
OK I think I've managed to implement the switcher. It works fine but can be a bit jarring in places which I plan to work on.
I just experienced a crash. I disconnected from my ZNC by clicking Disconnect and LightIRC decided to stop working.
v1.1.0 is now on Google Play testing area. Lot of bug fixes in the release - see the first and second posts on how to get it and what changed.
I am new to the whole IRC thing, so, I was wondering how one might go about making his own channel?
My friend is making a forum for his guild in some game, he thought it'd be nifty to have a mobile chatroom for it! Rather than some java/flash chatroom on the forum.

Use Pin Note to place customisable notifications in the notification area to be used as reminders, notes or application shortcuts. Pressing the notification will start a specified action, for example start your text messaging app, email app or dial a phone number directly. Obviously I will be adding further actions and functionality as time progresses. Any suggestions? Let me know.

Pin Note is currently in active development and is in the Play Store for public testing. There may be minor issues, but expect regular updates as functionality and design is updated and tweaked and of course any bugs fixed. Please feedback if you can, I would appreciate it greatly. I have tested on a LG Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and in AVDs but it hasn't been extensively tested in real world usage.

I have just uploaded the latest APK to the Play Store just before writing the post, it'll take a little time to appear but it will be there.
I've just checked and the Play Store has just updated with latest description, screenshots and APK. Also if anyone wants to submit bugs if they use the app and find anything then either just reply or submit here: https://bitbucket.org/roryrjb/pinnote/issues.
Again sorry no actual link because I'm below 10 posts.
I've added a few more options:
- Persistent Notification (have to clear from app, won't swipe to clear)
- Timer Notification (will count for as long as notification is active, to see how long it has been there)
- LED Notification (if your device supports it, the LED will flash every 5 seconds for as long as the notification is active)
I've also tweaked the notification layout slightly and a ticker also appears as well.
Version update:
Version 0.3.1.1 (Alpha)
- Fixed Intents.
- Added Contacts Selector.
Please find new APK attached to the first post. Play Store updating as I type.
I downloaded the latest copy for testing >>> had a parsing error pop up when I went to install it.
is that just me or what? BTW this application looks promising. Has great potential and I want to help you out
I can create a new icon or re-design the one you currently have to make it more professional or I can do a new UI design for you? Just let me know I love helping others out!
I use Notif Pro but this looks interesting. Going to give this a shot.

Hmm.. not sure about parsing error. Try to download from Play Store if it doesn't work again after a re-download. I'll look into it and might have to upload a new APK.
Also, thanks, I'll let you know if I need anything.

It's been a little while but I have updated. Notifications can be customised and then set to appear at set times. The free version (a Pro version will come along eventually) is limited to 4 reminders at a time. Whilst I have now classed this as Beta there still may be issues or bugs. As always any bug reporting or feedback is welcome.
Code:
Version 0.9.5.3 (Beta 2)
- Changed Theme to Holo Dark
- Added "Launch Activity" Action
- Added Instructions and Changelog to About Section
- XDA-Only Release
- Plus More...
New version with some significant changes. Again this won't be a perfect release as I am adding more and more functionality. Your time, comments or bug reports are greatly appreciated.
New screenshots will be attached to the OP shortly.
Update Attached
I realised in the last update I didn't add some resources for non-XHDPI devices, they have now been added in this latest update (v0.9.5.4).

Assalam o Alaikum (may peace be on you)!
I began developing this app when I felt need to delete text messages from my device. A lot of them were spams and sometimes messages would become outdated and useless ("yes", "no", "ok", "brb", etc). So this app helped me filter out such messages and delete them.
There are still things to work on (adding new search filters like contacts to include or to ignore) and more exciting feature to add (categorising messages in favourites), but it is important to keep the flow going and release the app as I work on it.
Features:
search SMS (with various filter such as lines, characters, text, etc),
delete selected SMS (deleted messages are backed up in the app)
restore deleted SMS,
reply/forward an SMS.
Known issues:
Small fix needed when showing Favourite or Trashed messages exceeding 5000 mark.

You need to add a progress bar when deleting messages. (like 6/30 messages deleted...)
Also it would be appreciated if the search filters can work on other sms clients such as go sms, textra, whatsapp etc.

Yes I was thinking about the progress bar thingy.
Do u mean the internal DB maintained by the apps? I will have to see if it's possible.
Oh, you think short message service is your ally. But you merely adopted the SMS; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see MMS until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!
It was totally necessary.

Thanks man, really appreciate your comment. I now realise how motivating these thanks and posts appreciating your work really are.
Okay guys, I will be adding 2 or 3 things in next version.
I've already fixed the progress bar thing when deleting, now I will be working on these things:
Recognize all known contacts (+xx and those starting with a 0 will be identified as same),
search button to do the same action as "Add Filter",
An "About" screen and "Share App" feature
Let me know if you have anything else to add to the list. I will try but I can only work on the weekends, having a tough routine nowadays.
Okay guys, there have been a couple of fixes and changes in the app.
Change log - 0.1.1 - alpha:
ActionBar added,
compatibility for Android 2.1+ (API 7),
buttons replaced by icon - long pressing will show their info as Toast,
deletion progress bar,
all contacts are now recognized (+xx replaced by a 0, where country code is xx),
reply an SMS (from search results),
hardware search button will also open an add filter popup,
About screen,
Share the app with friends SMS and Email,
alert boxes fixed where some devices will show conflicting theme with text unreadable.
Good work! Keep it up.
Couple of changes have been made to the initial design. Following are the done tasks as of now. Hopefully people will come up with an idea or two over here because I feel there will be some things which could be added and improved.
contacts numbers with hyphens will now get recognized,
range selection for number of lines, characters and message count,
number picker for number of characters per SMS,
known/unknown sender replaced by sender type.
I'm a little busy these days and haven't been able to work on this app for a week or two now. The latest feature I was working on was to make a trash bin (a DB file) where all removed messages would go to and you could view, backup or delete them if you're sure that you don't need.
Basically I was stuck with saving the DB on external storage, since people would expect such things on external storage because they would reset/format their devices, especially after having such enormous amounts of amazing ROMs over here at XDA.
This upcoming build will be more mature and with a better UI. It would be really nice if you people post something you have to say about the app or the features you'd like to have (customizability or something which you think is generally expected but Bane SMS lacks). It will give me encouragement and also help me in making this app more useful for the users.
Bane SMS [Alpha 0.1.2]
As I promised, this version is much improved and is more intuitive. Thanks to my brother Salman Babri who made some really important suggestions when I thought nothing more could be added to this app. Now he's asking me to make the UI a bit fancy like some really amazing apps - Clean Master and Battery Doctor. I don't have designing skills so somethings are not really possible, like which theme should I use, the icons and everything. If you want to contribute then you're welcome. I don't know what I can give you as incentive, but we can negotiate over that hopefully.
Change log - 0.1.2 - alpha:
new - couple of GUI updates,
Share app feature fixed (as per Android's guidelines),
new - report issue and contact developer added,
new - Range Seekbar for filters (bounds can be changed from settings)
new - scroll through messages from the Message View screen and messages can also be marked/unmarked from there,
new - removed SMS are backed up and can be restored from Trash bin,
new - Trash Bin can be exported and its location can also be changed from settings,
bug fixed - where lines weren't counted correctly,
bug fixed - where contacts with hyphens/spaces/tabs in the number will not get recognized,
ActionBar back button issue on newer versions -- bug fixed,
Alerts' background colour will be white always (to fix the visibility issue),
Bane v0.3 beta is out
Assalam o Alaikum (may peace be on you)!
Glad to announce that the long long awaited update of Bane SMS is finally here!
First of all I apologise for this long delay.
Main updates:
Materialised Bane, (if you see something unMaterial, please notify me )
Improved deletion, restoration speed,
Navigation Drawer based app,
completely supports KitKat and Lollipop with default SMS app (just go to Options Menu and click on Default SMS app. Clicking it again will undo it (did this to help make it less annoying).
Known Issues:
crash when showing Favourites or Trash when messages exceed 5000 or something

Amazing UI! Replacing Keep from now
Anyway, could you make it more Material? Like adding FAB, removing icon from ActionBar and changing hamburger menu to new one (see app screenshot in attachment)
Looking forward to next releases and Drive backup support
Your minimal use of permissions is greatly appreciated. Ads have now been removed (I paid), and I look forward to the upcoming Box integration.

upload the source code to github please?
Great app! I've been unhappy with the overcomplicated bloat of Evernote, and the inability of Keep to back up or extract in a readable format. This is a good looking, lean and mean app, so thanks! If possible, some type of import function would make this much more useful for people like me who would like to migrate over from another note app.
Thanks for the great app. Looks very clean and functional. One question. I enabled the Dropbox sync, but can't figure out where my notes are saved. Even after I saved the note and close the app, the desktop Dropbox icon doesn't show any file activities, and I wonder if the sync is actually working.

In the coming updates, definitely! My first priority for the app is to fix its bugs and add sync options for Google Drive and Box, but I will work on features like what you suggested once I'm finished with them. I experimented with a FAB, and it looks awesome

Thank you for supporting the app! I plan to keep the most minimal amount of permissions on BrightNotes as much as possible. A lot of people want a good notetaking app that doesn't use a bunch of permissions, and I intend to fill that gap.

Thanks! I developed BrightNotes partly because of what you said, other note apps are overcomplicated.
And I would love to add an import function to BrightNotes, but I do not wish to get in trouble with the other developers. I hope you understand

The type of Dropbox Sync used by BrightNotes is different than what you would expect. The notes don't show up in your Dropbox folder, they're stored on a special place called a "Database".
The notes are there and tied to your account, just not in your typical Dropbox folder. Because they're stored on that special place, you can only view your notes through the BrightNotes app for now.
But rest assured, your notes are synced with Dropbox

Thanks for the reply. I am a bit disappointed since I liked to access the notes from both iOS and Android devices. A Dropbox based text note app is surprisingly rare in Android side.

Blame Dropbox for that. There is currently no API available for accessing notes between different apps on different platforms
