CWM right sir? Thankyou!
Sent from my GT-I9003 using Tapatalk
In CWM, yes.
Once you've booted in CWM you have a few menu options. One of them is wipe, where you'll be able to wipe data (applications and user data, = factory reset), cache and dalvik cache. Wipe all three, install MIUI ROM.

I have been out of the android game for a while and have only just got the nexus s 2 days ago but am now running ICS. Could someone explain why the OP would need to root his phone? As I remember you unlock the bootloader and flash CWM without the need to root.
Yes you do not have to root, but it wouldn't hurt. Optional.

Hi, I wouldn't recommend running 1.54GHz on a daily basis, for most Nexus S's it's just not stable.
But lucky for you, KelLMSKing's MIUI and Brainmasters MIUI are both nice and smooth at 1GHz, and you can allways go to 1.2 or 1.3.
Good luck mate.. ;-)
PS. Most custom roms come with superuser preinstalled. But check the rom description.

I cant find any kernels with 1.3 sir
Sent from my GT-I9003 using Tapatalk
There is a Trinity 1.3 ghz kernel.
There is no need to root first. It actually makes no sense at all unless you want to make a backup of your rooted stock rom. Otherwise you don't root the rom just to wipe and flash a pre rooted rom in the next step.
Hi Guys.
I am using alpha 4 from last one month and experience was awesome but from last 1 week I am getting lot of FC for lot of services like exchange service gapps what's up camera and lot more. I am not sure why FC issue started happening from last one week.
History :
I was using CM 10 alpha 1 then alpha 2 then alpha 3 and now on alpha 4.
I really fed up with Force close issue from last one week . I tried reboot but still 80% of apps and services getting FC. Please guide me on this .

Hi Volkf,
Thanks for your reply but i have followed all the steps mentioned by Dhiru while flashing CM 10 alpha 1. Then flashed the aplh2, now i am using the alpha. I never faced the FC issue but from last one week most of my services ( appps) getting FC. Is this related to new partition created in alpha4 ?

Hi Volkf
The FC issue is resolved .. Wipe data and cached --> Formatted data -- Re flashed CM 10 a4, Gapps .. No issues now .. Thanks all...
Comments for user who want to flash CM 10 a4 and are on cm 10 a3.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As per instruction for Dhiru - When you are flashing cm 10 a4 from cm 10 a3 no need to wipe the datat and cache. but i thin g we should wipe the data and cache and format the data in advance.. Other you may face the FC issue.. Thanks
After flashing cm7.2 20130301 nightly builds when I open camera it shows couldn't connect to the camera. What's the problem?

Do a clean wipe my friend. Cm builds are the stablest build.
Wipe data, cache and dalvick cache before and after flashing rom reboot wait for a minute and then flash gapps, reboot. done.

Yeah i agree , there are many bugs in the nightly so i immediately switched back to the stable version .
Requirements : a rooted phone with an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery like cwm or twrp .
Read these instructions to the letter :
1)Make a nandroid backup of your android before flashing anything in case you ever brick your device and also make a separate backup of your applications using titanium backup
2) download the .zip file from this link http://pacman.basketbuild.com/index.php?dir=main/p3100/release/ and put it in your sd card. This is the .zip file for your rom. (If you have any other device than the p3100 then put that device's name in the link instead of p3100.)
3) then download the latest gapps version from here goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip and put it in your SD card. This is for the google apps .
4) open the custom recovery you have on your phone.
5) there, click on the wipe data /reset button and then the wipe cache button
6) click on the install zip from sd card button. There select the .zip file for the pac rom.
7) then install the latest gapps version by the same method as above.
8) after all this press the reboot now button .
Now you got the PAC rom giving you android v4.2 on your galaxy tab 2.
ENJOY and press thanks if i helped you ...

Well, the basic method is wipe cache partition, advanced > wipe dalvik cache, and flash ROM.
Cheers!
