[Q] Root on GT N8013 Wifi - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I decided to set my GT N8013 as root but I used wrong files (for N8000 only) and put it in by accidentally. Is there any way can I get it remove? Like start over?

Just to clarify, you tried to root your n8013 but used odin to flash the files for n8000? Does your device work currently? I am sorry just trying to figure out what exactly is going on.

Yes, I tired to root my n8013, somehow I oversight files which is for n8000. My device is work well expect it running like 3G. I am trying to get it back to run like N8013.
Hope this is helping?

I have the same problem! I cannot update via OTA because CWM recovery keeps popping up and interrupting it (even though I flashed UEALGB stock recovery using Odin

Well if you can't get it to completely get rid of CWM then i would try and odin complely back to stock, you can get the firmware from samsung-updates.com i actually had to do this as well. The file is around a GB but it should clear up any issues that you are having. PM me if you need more specifics.

Excellent.
I'm wanting to root mine, due to an issue with TouchWiz I keep running into. Now that I know how to un-do it, I'll probably go ahead sooner than later.
Anyone tried this?did it worked?
how can i move back to the stock recovery without flashing the stock rom?

[Q] What do I do to upgrade 4.1.1. (Ger) to 4.1.2. (Ger)? (I've forgotten!)

Hi all
Sorry to bother you. I upgraded my UK Note to the German JB 4.1.1. a few weeks ago and it's been flying since. I noticed today though, that SamMobile had the German 4.1.2. version available for download (N8010XXUCMA5 / N8010OXACMA5), so I'm now in the process of downloading it.
What I need to know is, is it simply a case of me doing what I did to upgrade to JB before? I used Odin if I remember right, and pointed it toward the ROM I wanted to flash with. Is that all that's needed?
Also, do I need to backup my present setup or won't it affect my present apps when I flash with 4.1.2.?
Many thanks guys

Odin flash --> User Data/Apps is not deleted --> reroot (if you want)
Backup is always a good idea
Backing up your current setup is always a good idea, but I had no issue when I flashed it.
Assuming that your not rooted, use Odin or use Exynos Abuse to root and then...
If you are rooted then get a copy of Mobile Odin and select everroot.
Thanks guys
I'm not rooted at the moment. Do I need to root? I haven't felt the need to do so until now, so I'm not really bothered about rooting...

No pressing need to root so if you don't want to, then just use Odin to flash it.
You do not need to root to flash using odin just go on the link on my signature to get the tutorial

Great.
One more question. I swapped from a UK ROM to the German JB one. Is it an easy procedure to go back to the official UK ROM if and when ver. 4.1.2. is available in the UK?
Cheers
Yes it should not be a problem the same procedure but make sure you take a back up
Thanks all
11 minutes and counting before the new ROM is d/loaded...
Just had a look at the rooting guide (thanks Samir) and the first option looks very easy (ExynosAbuse app). If I was to use this method would I lose any functionality of the Note at all? Also, if I have to send my Note back, would Samsung object to the note having been rooted?
Cheers
I dont think mobile odin will flash the hidden or bootloaders, odin or heimdall is a better option
the exynos abuse patch doesn't work on the MA (4.1.2) builds, if you want root use cfautoroot through odin on those.
Rooting will cause issues with samsungs warranty. If you need to return a device to samsung then you need to restore it to stock rom, with no root, they are using a binary counter though that you can get rid of by using triangleaway.
don't forget to use the search on the forum for these topics, there's been quite a bit about them
Well I've followed the instructions like last time, but it won't update - it keeps saying the process has 'FAILED'
Can anyone shed any light on why I can't update???
Confirm that Kies is not running
Sent from my GT-N8000 using XDA Premium HD app
Can you post a screenshot ??
What version of odin are you using
Hi guys
Thanks for the quick replies. I must admit to being a plonker of the highest order - I never put the tablet in d/l mode did I
It's doing its business now. Roll on 4.1.2. goodness!!!
Thanks to all of you for your help

you're right, i've (tried) to help people with your tab I497's and can't find the original firmware anywhere. a few people state that the Jamaica firmware works (though i know that's not what you're after) i'm just googling ways to make backups from CWM backups.

[Q]

Hi all,
I have very minimal knowledge when it comes to Android development - I have never flashed a rom, but I have rooted my phone. Recently, I purchased an AT&T Note 3 from my little brother after he had tried his hand at modifying the phone. He rooted it, flashed Knoxraid, didn't like it, and wanted to revert - he removed root, kind of stupidly, before doing anything else. Now, the phone runs Knoxraid, but isn't rooted and I have been unable to get root again. What am I doing wrong, or what don't I understand?
Thank you all.

download this here and unzip it when its done http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=25106 its android 4.3 so if you want kitkat make sure that kitkat has a root guide if there is one.
download odin here also https://mega.co.nz/#!UdRRyCAT!H4FyVxYynNWvXqRNmnpMGQRCP-dG3uykgP2pT4rh8Ek unzip it as well
Take out your battery and go into download mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons) open odin and connect your phone (in download mode) to your computer, make sure in odin one of the id:com boxes changes color after you plug in your phone. (i dont know what color it is in odin 3.0.9 i have older samsung phones so older odin name for me lol) select AP and select wherever you put the firmware, Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked after that click start and sit back and watch, be sure to move your files onto your computer if you need any from it like pictures/music.

Stock Firmware

I have the Samsung Galaxy S7 that I just received about a week ago from AT&T. I am (was) running Android 6.0.1. I have the SM-G930A variant and was running rooted touchwiz. I tried to revert back to stock firmware, but was careless and used the wrong Odin files, causing my phone to brick. I was using stock recovery. When I try to use the Smart Switch program, I get to entering my serial number and when I click ok, the program crashes. Can you point me to the right Odin files or how to keep Smart Switch from crashing? If there's no solution, just let me know so I can tell my parents and get grounded until I can move out.
