I did a titanium backup before flashing Cleanrom 4.5 to include rpm and radio. I was very happy with cleanrom 2.1 and need to revert back due to poor battery life, very poor. Can someone help with the steps to revert including tibu help? I tried a search, but the search function is temporarily unavailable. I only see restore apps and data in tibu and not sure if that will revert me completely. I also think I need to flash the old rpm and radio, but am not sure. I waited 2 days for the system to stabilize, but no love. I also loaded crap mods and acidmusic mods, but don't think that is the battery drain problem. I am on vacation and need to fix this as I need my phone battery to last. Any help would be appreciated.

Titanium backup is only for apps and data to revert to 2.1 you will need to flash it in recovery and then flash the modern separately.

Found it on my sd card. As soon as the phone charges I will give it a go. Thanks for the quick responses.
Also don't forget, you will need to do a "Wipe/Factory Reset" before you flash CR2.1

Thanks. I wiped everything. Reverted back and battery life instantly improved. Will wait for a clean rom kernel before I upgrade again.

I want to flash custom roms but I don't want to be that guy to lose his imei. Now question is. If I backup my stock rom via cwm and flash a rom and get unlucky and lose my imei and then just restore my stock backup will I be okay?

easiest is to just flash synergy. it backs it up for you without doing anything and, in my opinion, an awesome rom to try first anyways
I don't believe restoring your nandroid will fix your imei. You should backup using qpst and also with the flashable zip that synergy has now implemented to be safe
synergy made a script you can flash in cwm to back it up but it's not proven to restore yet since no one has had to

Isn't there a way to also back up using terminal emulator right on your device? I believe the file gets back up right on your SD card and then you can restore from there....

That backs up your EFS partition, block or what ever you want to call it. Restoring that will allow you to get data back but you will always be roaming. I have backed up my EFS, backed up using QPST and did the manual way of backing up Synergy style. You can never be too safe. Synergy is a nice rom but if you don't want to flash it there is directions on how to pull the info that the Synergy script does.

Thanks for the info.
So if you just root and unlock there is nothing to worry about with this I assume? Also, TW ICS Roms should be safe? Is it just when flashing an JB ROM this issue can arise?
Just rooting and unlocking you should be fine. Flashing any ROM has the possibility of losing your IMEI but it seems more prevalent on AOSP ROMs.

Moral of the story is even if you back up your imei your probably gonna be stuck on roaming forever.

So what's the point of backing it up if you lose it and restore it you are still stuck with a roaming device. And not functioning how it should be stock.

I think it shows an R for roaming but you are actually not roaming. So your device supposedly is working, just has a graphical glitch. At least the device works I guess but still sucks and would send back for another one anyway.
Wonder why if this gets screwed they make it impossible to recover from. Even if you bring it to Verizon they can't do anything about it?
If this happens and you have insurance. You 'lost your phone' and get a new one haha

Sorry, new guy here. I was getting tired of waiting for Jelly Bean to arrive on my GS3, so I decided to install a leaked build. I want to update my build to the most recent one (preferably the official one), is there a way to do that without losing my applications and application data?

You won't get the ota because Verizon doesn't recognize the version you are on. the best way to where you are is to flash it I Odin. Follow section five here

It's a "no-wipe" version, but the preferred method is to full wipe when changing to a new rom it seems. Less possible problems show up.

Your internal sd card isn't wiped, the contents have been moved to /sdcard/0 because of the way multi-user is introduced with JB 4.2.
What issue are you experiencing right now with phone information? Did you lose your IMEI and ERI?

You probably just had to go into mobile Networks/and change CDMA to RUIM/Sim so that it would recognize your sim card. The 4.2 roms sometimes change this without you knowing.

I'm on TW so no I can't, it's only accessible in that path on AOSP. Just make sure to change it back to Sim before flashing a TW rom because that carries over onto your next rom.

Hello Friends, This is BRICKBEATS and I have just COOKED my first custom rom for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III 4.3 from the recently released update. This is stock WITH KNOX APPS REMOVED AND SOME VZW BLOAT REMOVED, and was supposed to have root but it doesn't seem to work at this time. THIS IS A CWM FLASHABLE ZIP AND DOES NOT FLASH THE SECURED BOOTLOADERS, MODEM, OR RPM FILES!!!! I just flashed it to my phone less than an hour ago so any bugs are unknown as of yet. I figured we could all test it out and any input is appreciated. I will get screen shots soon!!! Enjoy
edit: wifi is broken
edit 2: give a decent amount of time for that first boot, it may take a battery pull and hard reset..

Yes if you do flash this rom you can in fact revert to 4.1.2 or any version of android built for this phone for that matter. All this is doing is just installing a rom that has the 4.3 base. If you do decide to go back, just flash a rom thats built on any other version of android for this phone.
this is actually a better rom option with more functionality...

I flashed with CM last January by following this tutorial 'http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/rom-cyanogenmod-10-2-official-nightly-t2382579'
If i restore my phone it'll go to cyanogenmod or to my old stock ROM? All of my apps will go? And my battery is getting drained a lot and I guess its due to candy crush?? Sorry for being noob!

Did you take a backup of the stock ROM ? Then you probably can restore it to stock. Otherwise you will have flash via Odin or something. And yes if you flash stock rom you will lose all your app data but you can save apps then reinstall after reverting back to stock
