Google account on ParanoidAndroid rom - HTC Sensation

Hi! I have ParanoidAndroid Rom v4.6. It works almost perfect, the only one problem is that the video recording doesn't works.
I did a nandroid, flashed v11 and I could't login with the google account, so I came back to v4.6 with nandroid.
When released v12 I flashed it and I can't login with google again.
Why is the reason to don't include that posibility?
(I don't flash GAPPS cause I think there are included with the rom)

Hi,
Gapps = Google apps (like gmail,play store,etc,)
Not camera

Yes I'm running paranoid Android too and you need to flash gaaps, then those things will be added. You can flash 4.2 gaaps. That's the one I flashed. You can find it on Draguns web site under downloads . Look on page one carefully and follow the link. Then you will be all set! Everything is running perfectly. You will be fine after you flash Gaaps. You have two choices regular Gaaps or inverted Gaaps. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
Also no it won't over write, the camera.

Google apps are all the apps that connect to Google's servers.

Thank you all of you!

gapps.zip questions

Can this be flashed onto cm9 at any point, or does it have to be at the clean install? Also is there any difference between using the zip and just installing the apps from the play store in cm9 other than saving time by having them all in a bundle?
Thanks..

1. Yes you can though some people have had some bugs where the home and search button wouldn't work if gapps weren't flashed before the 1st boot
2. Cm9 and other aosp roms don't have any of the Google apps including the play store so you HAVE to install gapps
Hope that helped buddy

[Q] Gapps for custom ROMs, all the same?

Before I go downloading all the Gapps for each ROM I'm looking to try, is the Gapps different for every ROM or can I just use one from any of the downloads and just run that install whenever I change to a different ROM?It seems to be specific to the ROM, but if I can use one zip I'd prefer to do that. I'd ask the question where I'm getting ROMs, but I need 10 post to post in those threads. :\
I believe it's all the same gapps package but only exceptions would be if the rom provides their own gapps package because it is themed or modded/customized. I could be wrong but I personally have mixed and matched gapps pkgs and everything was fine. Assuming the dates match from the rom and gapps. I use JusTunBean Inverted gapps with ROMs I flash. Hopefully this answered your question. If I'm wrong then hopefully someone can educate me.
For inverted apps these
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797292 or these
http://rootzwiki.com/index.php?/topic/29460-[Inverted]-Inverted-G-Apps-(update-11-18-Play-Store,-Google-+,-Youtube,-Google-Voice,-Google-Music)
and you can use with any Aosp rom. If you want regular apps (non inverted) just grab Goo manager app and select download gapps and you will have latest from Google.

Thanks for the replies guys! This forum is pretty great!
Installed some gapps from goo and it borked my phone and I had to restore back from November to September. I t was the first time I had backed up. I had never tried inverted gapps.

Gapps & Kernel are preinstalled and working perfectly. I recommend installing CM10 if you want a perfectly running daily driver.
After that you could do a NANDROID backup and try 10.1 or some others to find "your thing" .

Gapps definitely NOT included on both ROMs. You have to flash it separately after flashing the ROM.
Gapps are not included due to some IP issues, it's a separate file.
I'd go with stable unless you are comfortable solving problems on the go.

I thought it was licensing issues that prevented from bundling Google apps?

installed aokp 4.2.1 but there is no marketplace or google play to download apps

Hi,
I just installed the 4.2.1 rom from aokp but I can not find out how to download any apps. There is no marketplace or google play app. Do I have to find the .apk and download it manually? If so do I need a special version for 4.2.1?
Thanks
Download and flash Google Apps. Goggle "gapps" and download the version for your ROM.
As previously mentioned you need to download the latest version of Google apps for ROMs based on Android 4.2.1 (Such as the latest version of AOKP) and flash the zip package in recovery. Google apps compatible with Android 4.2.1 can be found here http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip.

Thanks a bunch. I must have downloaded the wrong one before. Thanks for the links, that did the trick.
Wow, you all are really quick with the answers. Kudos.
Course, now bluetooth seems broken. It seems to be a a2dp issue. I'll post again with a different title but basically when I tried to listen to music/podcasts it is fine for like 3 seconds then turns really staticy and garbled. I heard the latest nightly from 13-01-28 addressed this so I flashed that which is definitely better but the voices seem off like they are speaking at 80% speed. Weird.
Thanks again you all rock!
A suggestion for you is to get Goo manager. Some of the devs have the gapps right there when you select the rom version for download, Lets you download them together. It'll help you get the right gapps for the rom your looking to use.

Roms and Gapps Updates

In general, are gapps updates backward compatible for all roms?
Specifically, I am currently using the Illusion Rom and flashed the recommended gapps package. Today I was alerted about a new gapps available. Should I flash this new gapps?

Actually, in my recent experience over the last few days with flashing half a dozen roms and gapps you can't just mix and match as you want.
Certain gapps were made for different versions of android.
For example, I tried several roms built on android 4.2x and was installing gapps made for 4.3 and it kept crashing the keyboard which was great because without the keyboard you can't enter any text or info at all.
I found out later what was going on because I found the gapps repository which included release notes for each gapps zip package and in there it indicated for which android version they are made.
I thought the roms were bad but went back again and reflashed the roms with the older but correct version gapps and then they worked, no keyboard crashes.
So in short, flash the gapps package for the version of android you are installing and then later once you are up and running if an app needs updating it will do so via google play.
