Not sure if it's included with the free version but you can backup apps and sms/mms via titanium backup. I use it all the time going from phone to phone/rom to rom

Try using Super backup and drop box, both free. Backup your SMS and contacts with Super Backup, then move the backup file, which will be located on your SD card, into your drop box. Then you can restore the backup from any device with those 2 apps.

"my backup pro" will also do the job, have backed up all my data and moved it to a new device numerous times!

Wrong section should be in q & a

Just backup your contacts to Gmail, if you haven't already. Its really the way Android is meant to be used. If your contacts are saved to Gmail, they just sync automagically to your new phone (or when you flash a ROM) when you first power the phone on, and login to your Google account.
Various ways to backup SMS. The app SMS Backup+ works nicely to backup your texts to Gmail.

Xperia mini Pro contacts list transfer issues

I transferred my backups (including contacts list) from my phone to my PC via PC COMPANION software.
Since i flashed my phone I have been trying to reinstall my contacts list from my PC to my SDCARD on my phone, but i could only retreive 5 of my contacts.
I retreive all my mail messages with numbers but no names.
Can anyone please help as my contacts list is so important to me
and i only have it installed on my pc
it's an android phone, it uses google, why don't just use your google account for your contacts and then you will never have this problem again.
Of course, you could do the unthinkable and actually input all of you contacts from your PC into your phone using your fingers.
ok ur right i managed to retreive it through my google account.
For the life of me I don't know how it got there as i cant remember choosing to save my contacts in my google account. I Just used the backup and restore to backup and hoped i could just as easily restore.
Anyway now I am using a pice of software called MY PHONE EXPLORER which easily enables me to save all my contacts etc to and from my PC

How to completely backup data and apps on your sensation?

Can someone point me in the direction of a guide, or list a way to completely backup my sensation.
Say I wiped my phone and I need it back as it was, the apps I have on the phone are, app2sd, app backup & restore, Titanium backup Pro, ext4 backup.
also, how do I backup my contacts online?
Hi
Concerning your contacts, when you do the quick-configuration process at the phone start, your contacts are restored on your phone, check that your contacts are "Google" contacts not phone contacts, because they're linked with your google account.
With titanium (root required) you can restore all your apps with data (settings and savegames for example).

Google has integrated contacts with android very well. I suggest not to use any other applications to backup your contacts just leave it on android.
It is little difficult in starting but then it will make your life lot easy
Just open Gmail in your pc browser then all your contacts you can import to gmail by your pc. edit first name and numbers as you like...... here we go your all contacts are saved to google accout for lifetime whenever you flash new rom or get new android phone first time when you login in to your google accout in phone all contact will be syn. within 30 seconds.

That's right! You can merge your contacts, they doesnt have to be "gmail" contacts or anything, you can simply change the "contact type" when you edit a contact then make it "Google" on your android phone

Alot of contacts equals alot of editing, eh?
Lucky me, I only have "regular" contacts and export the lot to the sd-card.
Stupid or paranoid, you decide, but I want to be in total control of
who/what that can have access all my data, don't want to Googlefy to simplify.
But good to know the above tips'n'tricks if my mental state changes
I have uploaded all my contacts onto googlemail.
But I have a few duplicates, is there a way to only show the googlemail contacts and not the duplicates on the phone, or sim?

Yes, with Sense 3.6 by touching the "Phonebook" on the top of your contacts lists.
Maybe with the menu button in previous versions i don't remember..

I prefer to use 4ext recovery backup. You will have a nandroid backup of your whole phone. incl. your installed apps, contacts, etc. In case of a wipe you can easily restore the backup and your phone will be in the same state as it was. It is a good idea to do a nandroid backup before any change on the phone

go to your gmail account, go to your contacts, delete the duplicate contacts, I had the same issue a while back, this fixed it. ENJOY!

Lost all contacts?

I wanted to flash a new ROM and wanted to backup my SMS and contacts. I used an app on the market (Super Backup : SMS & Contacts) and backed up. I don't know where the saved backup is now because its not in the folder where it usually saves in. Is it hidden? Deleted?
Thanks.
If it's not in the directory the application usually saves into, then it is probable that it was deleting during flashing for whatever reason. Try using Recuva by Piriform or another data retrieval tool to recovery them.
I've never heard of Recuva but I'll have a look at it now. Thanks!
Hi,
for sms backup you can test the free app from market "sms backup and restore". After backup your sms you can find the data on sdcard in folder SMSBackupRestore.
For backup Contacts the easiest way is to have a gmail account
Yeah it should of saved into that folder but it doesn't seem to be in that folder.
if there is really such backup process, that would be really great. i'll try it.
Next time save contacts to sim card then transfer contacts to phone from sim card.

How to backup apps to prepare for ICS upgrade?

Dear people,
I'm using Endymion Rom but I'm thinking about upgrading to ICS.
What is the best way to backup my apps? Titanium backup?
Kind regards,
n0elite
Yup, titanium backup.
Yup, TitaniumBackup will definitely do the trick!
One thing though; when jumping roms, it could be a good idea to use some other app for the sms backup. Titanium sometimes have trouble restoring those cross platforms, at least that's my experience.
I use MyBackup (free version works fine) to backup sms, mms and call log.
Good luck with your ics-flashing!
[edit] I presume you have a Google (gmail) account?
If so, then just use that calendar and it will sync automatic (if you want) as soon as you add the account to your phone.
Same goes for the contacts.
I'm also in the same boat thinking about backing up in prep for ICS.
myphoneexplorer is a really good app for backing up contact, sms, calander data, etc. It does it over wifi and I use this regularly.
I've got Titainuim but still not got to grips on the correct way to use it. Anyone got any tips?
i use ES File Expoler now, and i think it very easy to use back up file and apps sorry my bad english
ES file explorer or Rom toolbox is a good one free versionwill backup apps to restore back, used it from runnydroid4 to endyminon 3.5 no probs at all

[Q] Storage Sync

I have looked around and found a few solutions, but all are really old dead threads. Is there anything new out that helps keep your storage (int/ext) backed up? Or do you have to copy and past each drive every time. I had two cards recently crap on me and had to send them to the factory for warranty. Luckily I did save the data, but it is not a simple task.
Thanks guys,
Muddy
I use mybackuppro. It works great and backs up all ur apps and the data on those apps. Or ur contacts and everything else
