bricked? - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys. i need major help on getting my phone at least back on...i seem to have bricked it. i was rooted under recent ota, jb leak, with safestrap and rom slot 1 with virteous 1.1 rom. i also had the liberty rom toolbox but the free version since paid apps are a problem either with safestrap or virtreos but i had the free version. i aslo put the clock to both 1.5 but not on apply boot. i installed a framework theme from the liberty box "twisted". when i tried to go to recovery by volume up and down and power i got the black and white recovery with options, i let it sit until i got safestrap recovery, which was enabled. pressed continue in order to go into recovery and stood blank. my phone is currently off and cannot be turned on. is there anyway i can rsd back to stock to restart again but through push without the phone on? no matter wether i charge it or push the power button it dosent start. please. someone. anyone.. thanks a mill.:crying::fingers-crossed:

Try downloading DROID RAZR HD tool kit and flashing back to stock when you go into the boot mode you may be able to restore it.

i do have the toolkit and i tried that but i doesnt see the phone. i guess it needs to be on.. but i know i can push it somehow. any other ideas.... my phone doesnt go on at all so it has to be something that pushes it or turn it on via computer.

Do you happen to have a factory cable for tbh that has worked for me in the past. Sorry for your bad luck maybe someone smarter than me will be a long soon

Hey bud, you might want to try forcing a reboot. I had the same issue you had but for a different reason and forcing the reboot helped me. Hold down the power and volume down buttons for 10 seconds. Hopefully that helps.

Kinda weird

I was trying out some roms and the last one I had was fission and I was trying to put on one of the themes from the fission rom manager and my phone went into a boot loop so I did a batt pull got back into recovery mode where I then did a recovery back to my stock rom. Everything worked and now im back on stock. I even used z4root to unroot my phone and. Now I turn my phone off at night and then back on this morning and my phone was in recovery mode. Had to select the first option boot up phone and everything is good now. But why is it in recovery mode and how do I fix that because its not soposed to be in recovery mode. I even unistalled bootstrapper. Please help.

Uninstalling bootstrap still keeps the hijacked logwrapper file. Try foogling how to completely remove it. I dont remember the exact steps off the top of my head.

Recovery problem on my new Droid X

I just got a new X I have been saving for since they came out.I used z4 to root it and all my root apps work but I can't go into recovery mode to flash a rom.I have tried both manually and through rom manager but it just shuts down and reboots to home screen just like I was powering on and off.
I even went into rom manager and flashed alternate sbf and it didn't work.I then went back to clockwork mod and it didn't work.I have had my phone for less than 24 hours.I saved for almost a year to get this phone.Someone please help.

[Q] Droid 2 boot stuck on motorola logo after fission install!

Hey guys. So I was flashing the new fission rom on my droid 2 today and after the backup was created and everything else was set, when the phone was rebooting, it just got stuck on the motorola boot logo. I have tried pulling the battery out and everything and all I get is the same boot logo. Is there anyway I can get into recovery mode?
any ideas on how to get the phone to boot propertly? :/
Are you holding X while powering on? This will get you into stock recovery. If you can get to that, try wiping data and cache and rebooting. If not, you might have to SBF:
SBF Guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770224
SBF Download (download in guide doesn't work. You can find it here):
hxxp://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/droid-2-discussion/5323-tbh-mydroidworld-present-droid-2-2-3-20-triple-threat.html (replace xx with tt)
ALWAYS be sure to wipe data and cache when flashing a new ROM.
Hope this helps and you get your phone working.
If you get to the boot animation, pull the battery in the middle of it and when you reboot it will go into clockwork. If not, you will have to use an sbf
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
Also try holding the X button down on keyboard and hold down power also till motorola logo pops up.
Then hit the search key below X.
Wipe data and cache.
Good to go. Happens to me all the time when reflashing after a SBF.
alright. i'll give the sbf a try. and i did try holding down X. I got to that menu, wiped cache and data and i'm still stuck at that logo.
i got everyting to work but the final step. when i am about to flash the sbf on rsd lite, i locate it and everything, but the program won't let me click start in order to begin flashing. any ideas?
Did you click on your device in the list at the bottom?

Also be sure you are using rsdlite 4.8 or 4.9

by click do you mean highlight? yeah i did. the start button is still faded out. i am also running rsd lite 4.9 :/
If you are on windows 7, you have to run rsd as admin. or your device won't show up.

Did you make sure and wipe? I've had the same issue after not wiping. Try wipe and reinstall and see if it works

Do you have your phone in recovery when you are trying to SBF? If so that may be your problem. You need to have it on the bootloader. You get to it by pressing up when you turn the phone on. It should go straight in, you shouldn't even see the moto symbol.
got the problem fixed! thank you all for your help. it was the windows 7 admin problem. Just did it off my media center xp desktop, worked like a charm. and yes i was in bootloader mode.
thank you again!
Congradulations! Glad to hear ya got it fixed.
Awesome! Glad your up and running.

[Q] Droid 3 stuck in bootloop

I realize there are multiple threads like this but throughout all of them I have not found any that relate to my issue or a combination of them. If I have missed one I apologize in advance and please direct me to that thread then. I was running steel droid what I thought was 5.5 ICS but it looks like it is 5.1 according to the forums. I was previously running steel droid 4.5 GB. I was switching back to 4.5 because I could not get wifi hotspotting to work. I forgot to wipe my cache and went to install 4.5 and I am stuck in bootloop. X+Power gives me the android error screen, M+Power allows me into the main menu but I cannot use AP fastboot, SBF motorola will not pick up my phone and the screen will show a connection to the USB cable. I've never had a problem before but also have never forgotten to wipe the cache so any thoughts would help.

I would but I get android error screen with exclamation mark each time regardless of how I access recovery X+Power or vol +,- and Power then going to recovery, I wouldn't have thought that not wiping the cache would have been the cause but it was the one step I didn't do that I normally always do so I was just adding it in for information but thanks for the know how that it wasn't the cause. Any other thoughts since I cant even get into my backup ROM or recovery, I have another SD card not sure if my SD card has become fried for some reason, I will be trying that to see if maybe that is all it is.

Yep but phone isn't picking up my data cable and how ever many issues that have come about here, I think I am SOL but gonna try an SD card hoping that it is just a bad SD card or something like that. May end up having to use part of that great tax return also, thanks for the help, I'm going samsung next, that whole fore sight wasn't there two years ago.
In it's current state, is it in any way possible to tell that it is rooted? Is the boy animation stock or a different one? Motorola might repair it for you if you can't tell that it's been rooted

Unfortunately you can easily tell that it is not stock ROM by bootloop
Well your computer should recognize your droid that's a common problem with Odin and Samsung one of these steps always work so try then and seen if we can't get your droid recognized NUMBER 4 WILL WORK 99% OF THE TIME BUT TRY THE OTHER METHODS FIRST 1. Use the stock cable or try a difrent port 2. If its possible on your program take out the battery and SD card as leaving them in course problems 3. Run the program as aminstrative 4. Plug the phone in and have it in download mode or whatever you call it WHILE THE COMPUTER IS BOOTING Up This will force the computer to recognize it not the best method but it always works
