Kinda weird - Droid X Themes and Apps

I was trying out some roms and the last one I had was fission and I was trying to put on one of the themes from the fission rom manager and my phone went into a boot loop so I did a batt pull got back into recovery mode where I then did a recovery back to my stock rom. Everything worked and now im back on stock. I even used z4root to unroot my phone and. Now I turn my phone off at night and then back on this morning and my phone was in recovery mode. Had to select the first option boot up phone and everything is good now. But why is it in recovery mode and how do I fix that because its not soposed to be in recovery mode. I even unistalled bootstrapper. Please help.

Uninstalling bootstrap still keeps the hijacked logwrapper file. Try foogling how to completely remove it. I dont remember the exact steps off the top of my head.

Help with Vibrant 4G!

So I was messing with my Vibrant 4G and flashed a voodoo color and then it wasn't giving me any signal so I went into Odin and went to go back to stock with the AIO Vibrant Toolbox and totally jacked it up. I am able to get back to the downloading screen and Odin recognizes it but I need to get back to stock.
Hopefully there is a fix already or am I stuck with this like this till someone has something?
If I use the Hawk pit and then the tar for the VUV will that get me going?

I had rooted and also put clockwork recovery on it....I was so hoping you were going to say I could use those two files to get me up and going
I did do a nandroid of my rom before I flashed the voodoo...was working somewhat after voodoo until I tried to use Odin and then got into this mess.
Wish there was a way to just use my nandroid

Ya with the clockwork recovery that was through rom manager...I was actually able to get into clockwork recovery too which is where I flashed that vodoo fix but did a nandroid backup before. Not sure where the nandroid went cause it's not on the memory card

Your the first person I have heard that has a custom recovery on the Vibrant 4G. It's kind of hard to believe.
I would love to help you out more, but I need the truth as to how you messed your phone up.

Alright I'll tell you since I'm the first it seems.
Root - SuperOneclickroot
Then download Rom Manager - Install Clockwork Recovery via menu
Reboots into recovery and select "reinstall packages" it fails so I went onto google and found the "3e recovery installer" script.
That didn't work right off the bat so I did some more reading and then used the superoneclickroot and selected "Shell root" and then ran the 3e recovery installer script again. It worked and then installed clockwork recovery via menu again and rebooted into recovery...selected "reinstall packages" once again, it failed but then did it again and bingo went into Clockwork Recovery.
From there I flashed the vodoo fix I found on the site where it is and then got back into the software but didn't get any service so I went into AIO toolbox and ran reboot to stock or whatever it was and then followed those directions and now I'm where I'm at
Now I know I had a ton of stuff on my memory card but now after messing with Odin and doing what it did I don't have anything on my card but there is like 4gb of space it isn't showing...
**Edit, and to make matters worse is I just bought this on Craigslist so I can't just return it to the store which blows**

Are you able to hard boot into clockwork recovery? If so, I would say try getting into recovery, mount your sdcard, drop bionix 1.3 on it and flash...just to get you operational. Then search around for the stock KB5 Rom, if you cant find it, I will make one and post it just give me 30 mins
Or you can try to flash the dump I uploaded

How would I go about hard booting into clockwork? I've tried holding both volume down and power and releasing when it shows "vibrant" but nothing...
Power down the phone by pulling the battery
Replace the battery and backing. Now hold both volume buttons and the power button.
When you see the vibrant screen, release the power but keep holding the volume buttoms.
When you see yellow texr, release the volume buttons

I wish it was that easy, when I release the power button it just goes to a white screen and then back to "Vibrant" and samsung at the bottom and keeps cycling that no matter how long I hold any buttons down

So then you have a Vibrant not a Galaxy S 4G, because the 4G says "Galaxy S 4G" not "Vibrant"
Anyways, Im not sure how to fix that, I would advise waiting for the official Odin PIT and TAR

Phone goes to boot and keeps looping

I have a droid pro and I used z4root to root the phone today. I also installed Droid2 Recovery bootstrap because others had said that it works for them. I then downloaded a ROM and it boots up, but when it gets into the boot in just loops and loops and loops. What buttons do I push to get into the nand or whatever its called?
You need to boot into recovery mode (power+r+m) and then press the @ button and then use the speakers to navigate to factory wipe and press enter to execute it. Then you need to wipe the cache and then flash the .sbf if you wanna get it booting again

Thanks. I went and dropped it off at verizon this morning before reading the message. If they cannot return it to stock then I will do that. I wish I had read that first though...
Verizon fixed it. It came back still rooted, but it would boot. I thought that was strange. Oh well. Back to normal now. I unrooted it lol.

[Q] Having issues trying to get back to stock

Ive been using the thread to Odin back to stock as im getting a replacement phone in a few days. Followed everything correctly, but Ive been getting a boot loop between the green android guy and the white Samsung startup logos. Redid the process in odin and now im getting "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in Kies and try again" when I go to download mode. i know I have a saved Nandroid backup on my SDcard, I just cant get to it. I also have mini Kies installed on my computer if there is a way to fix it thru that. I cant figure out how to get into recovery mode either. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Im just trying to get my phone working until my replacement is here.

That's because you had to factory reset and erase all data before flashing to stock. I had the same issue when flashing from dk4 to stock to lf4

This issue only occured when you uncheck Auto reboot in Odin. Try Odin again with Auto reboot checked
If you getting an boot loop, do exactly what I've done in Odin thread
If you get a boot loop All you do is boot in stock recovery and wipe data

Can't go to stock recovery in this case. This issue only occoured when Odin to stock ROM after using/flashing custom ROM that you forgot to format system or clean data. I've run into this problem before
It looks like after all this, Titanium Backup's backup was erased. I do have a Nandroid saved on my SDcard. Is there a way to pull everything from that? When I go to CWM and try to do a Nandroid, it says there isnt anything there. But When I connect to my computer, I can see the saved backup. I have been able to pull a few backed up apps off the Nandroid backup, but only certain ones or it says batch restore failed. Im wonder how it can see the Nandroids, but CWM cant? They're saved on my SDcard.
Is there another way Titanium Backup saves backups that I could possibly get to them? Im really trying to figure this out before my replacement phone gets here in a few days. I did backup everything, Im just having a difficult time restoring after the numerous problems Ive had thanks to Tmobile's "troubleshooting"
What are you currently running? If you are back to stock titanium won't function correctly as you have to be rooted. But since you mentioned cwm I wasn't sure.

Im just on stock but I am rooted. I just dont know where all my backups went after the bootloop and issues with reverting to stock after Tmobilr screwed up my phone trying to figure out why I kept getting "Call Ended" when trying to dial out.
Where is your nandroid backup currently located?
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
On my external SDcard/clockwork mod/backup/ whatever the date was.
Seems normal. Not sure why it wouldn't be visible. Sorry I can't be more help.
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
In recovery they are visible, but when I go to flash one it says no files found..
I was also stuck in a boot loop after attempting to get my phone back to stock since I got a replacement phone. Followed all of the instructions, but realized although I did a factory reset, I forgot to wipe data. So I simply got CWM through Odin....got into recovery wiped data....rebooted and voila! I'm back to stock no root. It took all of 1 minute to do. Maybe that will work for you too

Thank you for your quick response.I am able to get to recovery mode.and wipe data and factory reset.I got cm10 1117 nightly on my SD card and I install that and my phone is back.then I install jelly bean Google app.I will never try to go back to stock ROM again. this ROM is cm10 1117 nightly is better than stable cm10 for me.I thank all the devs who worked together to bring this your effort is much appreciated.
This is how I get to recovery mode on my Samsung galaxy s blaze.
1.press the vol up + vol down + power button at the same time.
2.as soon as the Samsung logo light up I release power + vol down button but not releasing releasing vol up button but rather press it harder..and there it comes....may be someone might be having the difficulty I had before
Give it a try...

Captivate totally unresponsive

Hi Guys,
I was on ICS and was going to wipe out everything and reinstall everything fresh. I got stuck on the Icy glitch Kernel and so I decided to use ODIN and go back to stock. I think the extraction of Odin was not done properly and as a result when I flashed it did all the steps but when it got to the reset step the phone did not reboot. And now it is totally unresponsive,
Is there anything I can do to revive it?
Thank you
Which Odin back to Stock did you use ? Can u still get into download mode ? Does your phone show any signs of life at all...even when plugged into a wall charger ?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using xda premium
Well if your phone isn't even booting up then u might have to resort to puting it in download either using a JIG OR using a three button method that can be found somewhere in the forums or through google. Also try to see if this version of odin works for you:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989

[Q] My friends phone is bootlooped. We can't access recovery.

My friend installed 3e recovery. He later installed CWM. He did a backup, wiped data, dalvic cache, and he also formatted /system. He forgot to plug in the SD card with the ROM zip file, and after rebooting he can no longer access recovery. It just sits on the Samsung screen. Using "adb reboot recovery" makes the phone reboot, but it's still stuck. I'm dont know much about adb, but it will not let us push any files onto the phone.
Edit: When we try going in recovery (holding vol+/- and power) Samsung logo keeps blinking on and off.
Your best bet would be to return to stock, install a custom kernel, copy the file over, and flash after wiping

i'll start the old Google to figure out what and how, but if you have the time can you explain this to me like i'm an idiot?
I did this and nothing changed: http://www.justanswer.com/android-devices/6k5fd-tried-upgrade-samsung-infuse-using-kies-mini.html
Also ADB is having hard time seeing the device. I got it to list the device once. And one more thing, I have to got o work now, but I'll be back in 4-5 hours (around 10pm central time)
Thank you in advance.
Ok now I have a new problem. When I put the phone in download mode i hear the "USB device plugged it" sound but Odin will not recognize the phone.
Edit: I believe that i have the drivers installed.
Which drivers? Heimdall or Odin?
