Unroot Evo 4g lte help - General Questions and Answers

I rooted my evo 4g lte using this method:http://htcevohacks.com/htc-evo-4g-l...tc-evo-4g-lte-unlock-bootloadertwrp-recovery/ and now need to unroot for service. I used the one click unroot via superuser but team win's custom recover is still on there. How can I unroot? I tried the ruu for my current model but it keeps giving me an error (171).

[Q] Unroot Droid 2 global...

Hey i've done alot of searching with no sucess. Here my situation:
I have a D2G. I rooted using z4root. I will be traveling over seas soon and my gsm has been unlocked by Verizon. With the current software if I put in a at&t sim as a test it shows no service when I change it to gsm. The new software update is suppose to fix that. With the phone being rooted it will not take the software update. I hit unroot in z4root app and it says im successfully unrooted but the update still fails. I tried doing a hard reset after using unroot option in z4root still no success with the update.
Heres what I did find:
edit: I can't post a link because this is my first post. Its unlockrdotcom and it has a little how to guide in there.
This is a how to guide on how to completely unroot a droid 2. I downloaded the Motorola drivers installed them successfully, I installed RSD lite + patch successfully, and I downloaded the original droid 2 firmware successfully. When I try to extract the droid 2 firmware I get an error message (using winrar). I i've tried deleting the firmware and redownloading it and deleting winrar and re downloading it (restarted after uninstall).
QUESTION:
Is the firmware on droid 2 and droid 2 global the same? .. Where can I find the correct firmware.
I know thats alot but I appreciate any help!! Overall objective is to fix this gsm problem my phone has, keep in mind i've unlocked it.
THANK YOU for any help!!!!
No one???!

Will an update brick my phone

I was reading on another forum that if my phone is rooted and runs a carrier update it will brick my phone. True? How can this be prevented?

Hey if you're phone's already rooted and you simply install a carrier update I think it'll update the ROM and remove root access.
For example, if you have Froyo 2.2 and you have Root access, one you install an update with Gingerbread 2.3 you'll end up with your operator's official ROM and no way to run Visionary.
Did you root with a util such as Visionary? That just uses an exploit to get root access, however to take a leap forward you need to do Eng S Off and Radio S Off, following this you can then install some of the great custom ROMs which are out there.
Ya I used gingerbreak and using rom manager bricked my last phone. Not sure what Eng s off and radio s off means.

[Q] New Sprint update on Evo 4g

So in reading the Forums i couldn't find an answer for this so here i go. I have a rooted evo 4g and i want to give it to my wife and get a new evo 3D. I was told if i update with the new sprint release it will automaticly unroot my phone and install the new update. I need the phone to be unrooted to be able to take it in to sprint and transfer the numbers. When i run the update the phone freezes and i have to take the battery out. Is there something i am missing or do i need to run an Unroot? Any advice would be great, thank you in advance!

Update to ICS from rooted Nexus S

Hey all!
I've got an Nexus S 4G running Gingerbread on Sprint network. I rooted it using oneclick root and free myself from a whole lot of bloatware.
Now, Sprint is trying to push ICS update to my phone. Can I update manually with my already rooted phone, or will I have to unroot, update, and reroot the new version?
I think this thread addresses the same (or at least similar) thing, hope it helps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594834
I had to flash a stock Gingerbread ROM, which unrooted my phone, and then I was able to get the OTA ICS update. I'm on AT&T though, not sure about Sprint.
