I have a little problem
Music that always can opened with music apps, they can't find the song on my SD card
Same as photos, the installed gallery apps can't find them.
Only with QuickPic the photos can be find
What should I do???

well first you should try format your sd, probably you have a virua that hide the folder and create a direct acces icon, the name is savira, whoever its just a guest

But the file still don't want to appear
try checking if the format of partition is FAT or not . may be it Is ntfs

Sometimes the music file's name doesnt match with the song name... Like if song is Kolaveri di, in sd card it may b hav named as 3three_film-6.mp3

well that must be a problem of the mp3 tag itself... use mp3 tag editor to check if song title is kolaveri or three _ film6

Hi Folks,
This is a strangest strange problem "Android System ain't recognizing new Music and Photos folders"
I've created a couple of new folders one for music and other for photos.
Looks like android system core isn't scanning these newly added folders
What am I looking for? Solution (A new core 'd resolve the issue not sure)
Currently I'm using
PowerAMP as ma music app-- PoweAMP app relies on the android sys to maintain the music library so I can't see my newly added mp3s no surprise, but you can always seek your files in Folders
JustPictures as ma Gallery app-- This is pretty good app does the work cleanly..
No prob whatsoever
Guys if you're facing the same issue fill in your default music and photo app replacements

What rom are you using? I had the same problem with orangepot cm6. Reflashed and it fixed it.

Hey, just check your SD card....there might be a file called .nomedia or something like dat...dont remember correctly.....just delete it and everything will be fine....i had the same problem earlier.

Install SDrescan from market and run it
Had a similar problem, just try unmount/remount of your SD.

Did that, no luck
I also had that problem before..Just backup all files in your sd and reformat your sd card and it will work again..
I'm on cm7.2.I can't see any music file in my music player before this rom I was tried aokp,miuibuild4.please help me.how to get all music file in music player.please anyone provide me zero fill.tar file & how it works?

i dunno about music player....but you can check my mediafire from sig for Zerofill.tar...it's zipped...unzip it to ur pc...it's huge (400mb+) when extracted...
remove sdcard & sim card....backup aaaalllll your stuff before doing anything...fire up odin...select ops file...blah..blah...put phone in download mode.....flash it....when finished...boot again in download mode....flash desired rom....voila
edit: it'll wipe & clean up ur system totally

is your SD card mounted? because normally, media scanning will scan the music files......
sometimes music players wont show files under a certain sixe (so that ringtones arent in there or the "facebook pop") go into music settings and make sure there is no minimum restriction on file size thats causing your music not to show

I don't know but it shown in music after flashing purumod rom,I think its because of kernel.

Hi all developers, I have a silly ? here . I just try the new ICS port which is {Port} RemICS-UX Infuse Edition{4.0.4}{Brought to you by Tamelion1117 and Bradman117} and everything's fantastic to me except it couldn't recognize my external SD. Musics n Pictures are gone somewhere else, couldn't find any of them. I use File Explorer and it say this: sdcard/external_sd/<this folder is empty>..................any ideas ..?Thanks for your response

i have checked that, but there is no Folder name 'Favorites'... Sorry for my bad... Can you give me a little more details
Those instructions were for ES File Explorer. "Favorites" isn't a folder, it's a menu in ES File Explorer.
The external sd is mounted at /mnt/emmc .

emmc folder dear
Beats me. /mnt/emmc is the external sd in ICS roms. Maybe put something in there, and it won't be empty.

The stock music app as well as play music doesnt show any of the music files in the sd card. Tried other music players but to no avail. .is there any fix
this? In one case i saw an error with media playlist.xml something of this sort.Cleared the cache of the stock music player n rebooted but same problm continues.

Are you sure that the music is in a format supported by the player, files not corrupted, etc.?
I can play em but not thru music app but by navigating to the sd card n selecting the songs nd the details of the song are displayed as null null null

Stock rooted ICS OTA & Class 6 SD (but yet SD can get corrupted) so two misnomers out of the way. You mentioned Play Music so what is the stock music player separately you mention (did you install the apk later after sourcing from XDA?)
Post some screenshots for better understanding. Try reformatting your card and recopying the music tracks on the SD & check.

Though the matter is resolved, on my stock rom OTA ICS upgrade I have only Play music app only which replaced the original GB Moto music app but which I later reinstalled using apk from XDA and now both co-exist.

Song details being shown as null...may mean that the song metadata i.e. ID3 tags need fixing. Any media player on your PC should be able to do that or you could download specialised software for that.
Have you tried another media player on your phone?

I want to send the apk file on my friends mobile via Bluetooth ..
I can't find the apk files
Is these files are in my second partition if so ..! Then how I can find that ... ?? I am using
Cm10.1 ... And SD card having both fat32 partition.

we can`t know where you putted your apks,the default folder must be downloads,connect phone at pc and search them..
If you want to send apk of installed app, maybe you've to search in /system/app but i've never tried if it works

Here's a better way:
Use an app like "App Backup & Restore" from the Playstore. It will copy the apks to a folder on your SD card. You can then use a File Explorer to send those apks via Bluetooth. :good:
Try finding it in CM file manager.

Try searching for it using a root explorer mate. :good:
(Requires root) open root explorer
Click home from options
It is in data/app :thumbup:

All your app's installed and linked using Link2SD are saved into your second partition you created as fake internal ram. This second partition is either EXT2 or EXT3, Linux format.
