Hi everyone, sorry for my english, i tested a lot Gingerman VERSION 2, the Cyanogen Mod 7 porting on
Huawei Ideos U8150. I found some bugs and I hope that the developers solve them on the "Version 3"
for all the android community. Now a list of the bugs (if I'll find others I update the list):
1)There isn't the tethering voice in the settings menu (nor usb nor hotspot wifi)
2)Problem with the position of Google Search Widget
3)There isn't multitouch support
4)No gallery.apk (i can't see any image) (2D gallery is better for ideos)
5)Wrong resolution in the clock app (blended hour)
6)Wrong resolution in the dialer app (blended numbers)
7)Put Lockscreen during calls (i activate it on the settings but it doesn't work).
Without it, i press involuntarily the waiting button (with my ear ahahah)
8)There aren't google apps (gmail, places, youtube(it works if you install it manually) ecc ecc)
9)No facebook app (you can intall it after market installation)
10)Camera doesn't work
11)There isn't the 3G and Hsdpa symbol on the status bar (i don't know if 3G works also without symbol or
it doesn't work because there isn't the symbol), but i'm sure that if there is 3G or there isn't 3G
i don't see the symbol
12)The volume of the ringtone is not stable also if the bar of audio level is always normal or max, for example:
I hear the normal volume, then i reboot and the volume is or too loud or too low but the indication bar
is always on the middle (or maximum) position.
13)The speaker caws (it didn't do this with froyo)
14)The haptic feedback doesn't work with softkey (also if it is activated on the settings,
it works only with text input)
15)Wrong resolution of the boot animation (the blue cyanogen logo is cutting out)
16)Nexus S Lock Animation when you lock the screen doesn't work
17)display rotation doesn't workshop correctly
18) no proximity sensor
19) it doesn't fonda 3g network
Thanks for help and attention
I'm waiting for solution.

Hi. I think you should consider posting this on the gingerman rom thread. It helps the Devs if they are made aware of the bugs so that they can address them. And if you start a new thread you can't be certain the devs will see it.

This is a list of known bugs of the various development ROMs. Features that are missing, such as an FM radio or Preferences in the Launcher, but are not part of the base AOSP, are not considered to be bugs.
Note: I started from b6r1, which was the first version closest to a workable, stable version. Let me know of any corrections or additions.
Apologies (5-Jan-12): I've not been able to keep up with the rate of ROMs produced, so I'm not updating this report until I either have a bit more time (I'm back at work) or the pace slows down a bit. :-(

- Camera: does not work. Needs driver to be built.
- Display:
o Lockscreen/CRT animation missing.
- Keyboard: Long press on Menu doesn't dismiss keyboard. Partial Fix: Back key dismisses keyboard. Works in other ROMs also.
- Softkeys
o Brightness gets turned off even in low light. Partial Fix: turn off auto brightness. Sleeping will turn off SK brightness and must change brightness to turn them back on.
- Sound: Changing headphone volume changes the system volume.
- Video: effectively unusable. Static images at 240p; will not play above 240p. Workaround:

One info regarding the b7r1 : i have titanium bkp pro apk on my sd and after installing wasn't able to restore aps (it runned all the procedures, mentioned that all apps restored...but nothing).
The other issue : the gradient colours are lost, the background colour is not "fluent" overall.
Great ideea with the dedicated bug report thread, the dev thread was filled with all kind of garbage

Just to add to the gradient comment, deva know of the issue and are working on the bug, but there's no hot fix, so we just gotta wait it out.
To add my own little bug too, I'm finding that now hw accel is in, after a while my phones display gets garbled, particularly the fonts. It was mentioned with a screen shot in the dev thread, but i don't think there'll be a fix until hw accel is better supported.

I also use TB Pro to restore my apps. It all worked fine.
Can someone else confirm this problem?
Swyped from my HTC Desire S on ICS b7r1 using Tapatalk
update TB to latest version. ICS Support was added in version 4.6.3, so you need a version above that for it to work.
Nice thread!
May i just add that after I've used the phone for a while it almost locks up, pulling down the notification menu takes about 1 minute, and after that if I'm opening the app drawer it takes another minute. Sometimes a reboot solves it, but not always, anyone else experienced this or could it be some application that's not ICS compatible?
Version: b7r1
Radio: 20.48.30.0822U_3822.09.08.20
Installation: Clean install (wipe everything) although i restored a lot of apps (no system apps) with titanium.
Edit: Another bug I found was that i couldn't seem to lower the volume during a call, nothing happened, can anyone confirm?

None of the issues you've described are present on my phone.
NOTE: When reporting bugs here, it may be useful to specify which beta are you using or on what beta the bug is present. Since we're discussing about both beta 6 and 7, if you just report the bug, can be confusing.
Also due to various configurations, the best way to help and give feedback is to try to reproduce the bug on a clean install (wipe everything then flash the beta). This way the devs might know if the bug is caused by the ROM itself or a specific configuration (that's why some of the bugs are present to all and some just to few of us)
beta7:
1.lock screen rotates even the rotation is disabled (both in preference and display ).
2.sometimes the fonts become garbled , but it could be fixed by a restart .
3.some apps, such as maps, fc randomly, but never occurred with beta 6
4.cant play videos ,and moboplayer doesnt work

I totally agree, I'll do that with the next beta!
Cheers!
Don't know if it's only me but in beta 7 it seems that the H indicator is broke again. I got only 3G indicator even if with beta 6 I get the H in the same places
I can confirm that the same behavior happens for me.

Launcher is not missing anything like preference as you said on b8r1 ...m-deejay built it from pure aosp code so the launcher is the factory android not one that was included in b7 ...
This can be a workaround for that launcher problem .. go to this trebuchet launcher forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410674 download and push it to /system/app then restart select default launcher trebuchet and delete launcher2.apk or whatever from system/app
Thanks for clarifying this. I'll update the OP.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for confirmation that the HDMI issues introduced with Asus' first release of JB 4.2.1 (10.6.1.8) has been resolved with 10.6.1.15.3.
Specifically, the issues that plagued me were:
- HDMI to TV output limited to 640x480 resolution.
- Missing HDMI Scaling/Cropping mode options.
I never even got around to testing HDMI audio before I decided to go back to JB 4.1.1, but I have seen the reports of HDMI audio issues here on this forum.
If anyone who is on 10.6.1.15.3 can confirm that these issues have been resolved, please post here!
I miss outputting at 1080p / 720p (depending on the TV) and cropping mode, and I'm not willing to update to JB 4.2 until these options are once again available to me, so I would really appreciate your feedback.
Thanks.
Audio issue fixed here for me - it would work on one screen but not on 2 others before the latest update
No cropping/scaling options in settings for HDMI, just 3D Output (if connected to 3D screen).
I've only had this a couple of months and started with JB so I don't know what other options there may have been before.
According to the screen it is receiving a 720p signal.

So, I took the plunge and upgraded to stock JB 4.2.1 (10.6.1.15.3). The output to TV does now go to 720p, but I am still missing the HDMI cropping and scalling options as you have indicated.
It looks like I'm sticking with JB 4.1.1 for a while longer...
Aaron, the cropping mode basically crops the status bar off the bottom of the screen on the TV, and gives me a "full screen" experience, which is great for when I'm playing emulators or watching videos and want some screen real estate that would otherwise be taken up by the status bar. And, it eliminates the bars that would otherwise appear on the left and right sides of the screen.
Thanks.
Hi!
ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T with TV FullHD Panasonic TX-P42VT20E
I still have the HDMI (resolution) problem:
with the previous firmware (Version 10.6.1.8 WW SKU) the HDMI signal was at 1920x1080p (1080p) always with the two vertical black bars in the left and in the right.
Now, with the latest firmware (Version 10.6.1.15.3 WW SKU), the HDMI signal is at 1280x720p (720p) always with the two vertical black bars in the left and in the right....
From what I see, even if the signal is 16:9 I still see the two vertical black bars in the left and in the right as if it were a 16:10 video format.... Then the HDMI signal is 16:9 but the video format is the same of the Tablet, then 16:10.
This is a very big problem to watch movies and youtube on TV!
At now I did not find a solution to solve the HDMI scale problem. The only workaround that I find is to lunch this command from a terminal:
am display-size 1280x720
this command will solve the HDMI scale problem, the HDMI output and also the tablet screen output will goes to 1280x720 (720p) resolution.
Now I would like to understand if there is a way to set the HDMI output at 1920x1080 (1080p) as the the previous firmware Version 10.6.1.8 works.
How is possible to "force" again the tablet to use 1080p resolution to the HDMI output? There is a conf. file into filesystem where this settings is setted?
Also, with Android 4.1 oldest firmware what was the HDMI output resolution? 1080p or 720p?
Thanks!
I don't know if anyone noticed but the HDMI output is streaming 5.1 PCM signal even if your content is only using 2 channel audio stream.
This will generate problem when you connect your tablet to a 5.1 Home Theater system and you will only get sound from front L/R speakers.
Hope Asus can fix this.
There is a bug in MX Player Pro for Android, v 1.9.24... at least, when it runs on my Pixel 2 with Android version 9. (I can give full kernel version and build number if needed).
1) When the movie starts, it sets the brightness (backlight) to medium low.
2) Swiping up-down the right side of the screen changes the volume.
3) Swiping up-down the left side of the screen also changes the volume.
Note that in MX Player (free version), swiping up-down the left side of the screen changes the brightness (backlight).
This has been broken for months!!!
I like the GUI.... I can't stand ads, so I paid for the Pro version... but the paid version has a bug that the free version does not!
OK, OK... I finally found where things were going wrong:
Apparently, my the box to optionally show the brightness control was UNCHECKED. I checked it, and now things are working as I'd like.
For others with this problem, you can check the required box either way:
From the video list window: (menu dots) -> Settings -> Player -> Controls -> make sure "Brightness" is checked.
From the video player window: (menu dots) -> Display -> Settings -> Controls -> make sure "Brightness" is checked.
Does anyone notice the auto rotation bug?
Does anyone notice that the auto rotation works sometimes even when it is turned off? It quickly goes to landscape mode and then switches back to portrait.
For those of you who didn't notice this one, Try playing a video in landscape on MX Player with Auto Rotation OFF.
Then press the back button. If I'm right the display will go back and forth between portrait and landscape mode for once.
I'm using this App in Android.

Indeed, it's a bug on the Android itself (https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/69168442) which is yet to be fixed by the google. Can you please specify the MX Player version you are using? We have already implemented a workaround for the same in the recent update.

In the newest Android UI 2 ETF5 for Note 9 there is a bug. When you record a movie in a portrait mode, then want to view it clicking from the camera app itself, then video orientation is never correct. It is always landscape.
Some shows aren't showing all episodes
Some shows not showing all episodes on firestick. Please help me whom to contact. Now I have 2 shows with this problem. Both Turkish dramas. 1. The woman. 2. Our story.
Both shows have more episodes on mobile app but the firestick app doesn't. Actually firtstick also shows the number of episodes but do not plays.
Hi Guys,
really need some help with this unit WG9018S i bought from Eunavi (don't buy from them). Bought on 11.11 for xmas via aliexpress, so can't dispute the purchase now.
1) GPS accelerator does not work. iGO says looking for satellites and Sygic sees the satellites and can turn in the cars direction, but does not follow the car on the map.
GPS Status tool says GPS Sensor available, but acceleratometer has malfunction. In built GPS Status shows the speed, sats locked, etc.
2) TMPS can see the sensors ID, voltage but not tyre pressure. (have tried multiple versions of software)
3) reverse camera only works for a few moments before screen goes blank.
4) permanent static noise from speakers. Noise changes e.g. has clicks, when menu items are scrolled or changed. noise is there for radio, SD, etc.
actually purchased Sygic and was using trial version of iGo - so both are/were fully legit packages.
Other comments, when i first installed, it cold booted every time car started. Now it picks up where it was. can't find a setting to switch back to cold booting.
enabling developer options, no menu shows up.
have tried a number of factory resets from the menu, but not convinced it has been fully reset.
Should i try to boot into recovery mode and delete cache, etc.? how to boot into recovery mode.
really appreciate some help. Cheers
wanted to give an update after >1000km.
1) GPS with Sygic, etc seems to randomly work for intermittent periods. I notice with the GPS Status tool, that 0/10-15 sats i.e. all grey when it doesn't work and a number green when it does work. Same in Sygic, all sats show as grey when not working and some as blue when working.
** google maps works in all instances on GPS only which also makes me wonder if android as something built in to limit 3rd party integration
2) Reverse camera flickers much more (when working) than WinCE HU. I note it works for between 30s - 3min in daylight i.e. no infrared and 10s - 30s at night when infrared is using.
I am wondering if there is an earthing problem in view of the reliability issues.
Have you tried other GPS apps ? There are 30 odd in the Playstore.
I didn't get any support from anyone so far, but in case someone else is having the same problems, here is what i can say so far.
3) Reverse Camera Failure
- changed MCU from MTCE_LM_v2.88_1 to MTCE_HA_v2.99 - seems to have solved this problem
Steps -
a) download from MTCD DMCU Yandex
b) save dmcu settings from factory settings screen (but also take screen shot copy of LM settings as dmcu.cfg does not seem to restore)
c) use about MCU Update
d) check factory settings and manually reset values - particularly CANBUS, BT Type, LCD Type, etc.
- need to manually remap display keys as well
* some settings appear to be correct but functionality doesn't work i.e. reverse camera settings. change the value apply and change it back *
1) GPS not locking
- changed system ROM from MTCE_LM_07-2018 to MTCE_HA_12-2018 - seems to have solved this problem
Steps -
a) download from MTCD SYSROM Yandex
b) backup existing apps/data
c) use about System Update (perform full format/erase)
d) reinstall / restore apps / data
2) TMPS was pairing problem i have solved by deflating type, but i still have problem every time the system starts,
it forgets that i have allowed the USB connection and i need to re-check the box.
Audio I am still working on.
