Don't use 'phone info' app with Jelly bean!! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I installed jelly bean rom, everything worked great but I went into Phone Info and noticed the preferred network was set to global. I went to change it to LTE/CDMA/EvDo, way wrong move! App crashed and I ended up with the a circle and slash symbol. The phone info app got set to WDCMA preferred. I was somehow after a few tries able to get CMDA PRL AUTO to take and get 3G back. Messed with it for an hour, rebooted, reflashing the modem, turning radio off and trying to change it but I couldn't even get it back to the Global setting. As a last ditch attempt before nandroiding backup to ICS where I hoped phone app would once again work. I turned off the phone, ejected the SIM card, turned the phone back on it gave me the (SIM card error, this phone can only be used for emergency, etc). While the phone was still on I push the sim card back into position (not sure if it was necessary to keep the phone on or not, it didn't detect the SIM when I inserted it. Anyway I rebooted, and BINGO 4G was back!! Took a quick peak Phone Info app and my preferred network was set to LTE\CDMA\EvDo and I quickly closed the app before I touched anything again!

This is changeable in the settings mobile data on jb leak 2

Data connection, please help??

My phone keeps randomly losing data connection. Basically the upload arrow will get suck on...and the download arrow will stay off. The only way to fix it is a reboot or switch on airplane mode and back off. But that only lasts for a short time. I've tried everything I can think of. Format SD card, full wipes and flashes of a few different custom roms and radios.
This happened to me once before, so I flashed the Rooted stock RUU that attn1 made awhile back, then went back to custom roms and it fixed everything. But this time, it didn't work.
Here is a screen shot of what I'm talking about, notice the H symbol and the arrows below it.

Does your ril match your radio? I had this happen once because ril didn't match my radio and make sure the battery door and sim card door are making good connections.

Yeah I've tried 3 different radio's and always matching RIL's on Virtous Unity 1.31, ClearDroid, StarDroid...Rum Runner.
Checked the connections on battery door and the connections on Sim/SD door.
Even gone so far as to format SD Card....Flash a Rooted RUU stock rom through Hboot....then full wipe and flash virtuous... Still having problems
One minute data is working fine, everything is good...then the next...no more data and I cant make phone calls...even though I'm showing full service.
Aside from unrooting and starting all over, I'm out of ideas. Anyone know if I have to use one of those tools to unroot...or can I just flash the newest GB unrooted RUU?

What is this?

I think that is the my location symbol.
That is the google location symbol I believe. It is letting you know that google is using your location when they preform a search or if you are using an app that needs your location.
Since you're not using a standard theme as I see it that icon could easely be your GPS icon.

If you turn off Verizon and Google location services, under the location and security section of settings, the curved bars next to the symbol will go away. The symbol itself will not go away unless there is a change to what is displayed in a custom ROM or you edit it manually with root permissions. I believe it is displayed to let you know that Emergency 911 location is enabled and all mobile phones are required to have this enabled. IMO Verizon did not need to take up space on my notification bar to tell me this.

This is correct , the crosshairs are the e911 location, and the waves or whatever you want to call them are gps location.

Network based location will also activate the waves. So if you have any of the three forms of location services turned on it will display the waves.

Is there a way to add data delivery option to one of the home screens?

Is there a way to add data delivery onto the menu. I only have the 200 MB plan and I would like to be able to turn it off like I can the wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, and air plane mode menu. I currently have to go to the settings and select battery and data management, then data delivery and unchecked it. I tried to add the shortcut of wigit or shortcut but there was none. Thanks

you can if you use a custom launcher like launcher pro or adw. you can then set short cuts to activities.
I use zd box, they have an widget to enable/disable the apn

I use data enabler widget
I'm using droidwall also, it will help you configure your iptable ^_^ not really a firewall but it will not send out any data if you don't let it ^_^
On my old phone (Aria) I use widgetsoid to toggle my data. It worked great.

fix
1-install and open
2-hit on look for apns sitting for your sim , another menu will pop to pick you apns
3- hit any one thats will pop another menu with sitting (you can apply it or GO TO ANDROID APPS SITTINGS)
AND HERE IS THE CATCH.
hit it thats when you see two apns sittings
go to the first one and apply the default or what you add
then go to second one and apply the default again .or what you
thats will fix the apns in the phone and the signal and data stays on all the time
i try this in t mobile us
hope this work for others

Agreed but do you mean that data won't sleep after this?
I understand the instructions: effectively you use the suggested app to access the apn settings of your phone. it shows that there is two different apn settings, and by setting them both to default will fix the data connection problems.
I tried this, however it has had no effect on my phone. tested extensively as I am in hospital just now and haven't been off my phone.
Vodafone UK, HTC one S S4, rooted with stock 4.0.4 android.
Easiest/quickest fix I've found is to change connection type to GSM only, then back to CDMA once the phone signal resets. bloody annoying though, surprised that there isn't a fix for this yet.

Yeah that's there, but I think you still need the WiFi calling app that comes with it to enter your address information (unless that's changed).
So how you get there ?
I don't have that anywhere
Install this program from play store
Scroll down to here
Look for wifi calling
Then in here

Anyone lose HD calling after enabling Wi-Fi calling? Even after disabling it I've noticed calls with my wife are no longer HD.
