There are warranty seal stickers? All screws are exposed whitout any sticker (usually at least one or two screw are covered with a "warranty void" sticker). If carefully opened is possible to open for dust removing virtually whitout voiding warranty
On page 6 why is necessary to trash the 3 torx screw?
Cause the torx have a glue. Supposedly if you use the same screws again they can get loose easily. I do not recall any nokia phone with void stickers for 10 years of servicing nokia phones.
Only stickers they have is the water intrusion indicators

removing dust under screen and ffc is a warranty covered operation?
What is ffc? Remove dust. It depends. It is cause a manufacturing error? But no, it is a payed service. Such as
If we make a sw update, it us covered under warranty, but if the customer tells me that he want his data saved while updsting the phone then the customer has to pay a fee.
Or changing language also is a payed service.

Hi,
Did you happened to know what is the 4-pin wireless-charging assignment ?
I means, what is the function for each pin, i.e. which one is +, ground, etc...
Maybe I'm pushing my luck too much, but is there any "leaked" schematic ?
Thank you.
Sorry. Cannot find anything about it. It will be surely on level 3 and 4 service manual. But u do not have access to it.

just use some locktite
Just disassembled the 820 phone per the service manual. Its really easy and is quite well designed. Much easier to work with than Samsungs. The manual indicates that all the screws are T4. I found this to be incorrect. The first 7 screws worked with T5 and the 4 larger screws that you remove last worked with T6. Perhaps smaller size torx bits are compatible, but I always use the largest size that fits to minimize the chance of stripping out the head of the screw.
The touch digitizer cracked on my wife's phone rendering the bottom half of the screen useless. AT&T would not give me a quote for repair, they just wanted to sell me a new phone for $349 lol. Luckily, the LCD is OK, so I ordered a new touch digitizer from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181146937262. I'll report back in 2-3 weeks. For now my wife will be using her old Samsung Focus. What a downgrade from the nice Nokia phone.

Hey Guys, had the skyrocket for almost a year now, first time to drop it and the screen is now cracked. Fully functional though. Is there any way to just replace the glass and not the lcd/digitizer? I paid 150 for the phone and the only replacement screen I can find is 200+. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I searched Google and eBay and could never find just the screen. First person to give a valid link for the screen under 75 bucks will get a 5 dollar donation! Thanks
Edit: After searching a lot, it turns out the glass screen, aka digitizer, is what I need. However, I cannot find it online without including the lcd. Anyone?
I stand corrected. I do apologize. Ones for the skyrocket are much more expensive than i thought. The s2 I'd the one i had in mind.

From what I've read its almost impossible to separate the two without damage. Some have tried heat guns but usually end up breaking something. Seems the two are glued pretty tightly together.

I had a S II Skyrocket fall flat on the screen and the glass cracked. I searched the internet for options to replace the glass, but none were really encouraging, specially if you are like me not really into opening up the phone and un gluing the glass from the LCD. And any spare part to replace the LCD and glass was costing no less than $150. In short what i wanted to let everyone know is, i went to a AT&T Device Support/Service center not the regular retail store, just to check if they had any spare parts which could be less than $150. And lucky me!!! they replaced the entire phone for me for $100 + taxes. And just to let everyone know, this phone was a $10 refurbished phone brought from AT&T about 8-9 months back, so no warranty or anything. A plain $100 charge and i was with a new phone. I gave in my old phone with a cracked screen and got a completely new phone and the back plate and sd card from my old phone. So anyone who is ready to spend upto a 100 dollars for fixing up the screen, you might as well try this at a AT&T service center.

Maybe i worded it wrong. The point i wanted to put forth was, this $100 option is for anyone who has a cracked glass on S II skyrocket taken to the AT&T Product Service center. I surely did not have the AT&T warranty which is 90 days for refurbished models, and this damage would surely not be part of the Samsung warranty.

This may be a long shot but you might be make to go into an AT&T and sat it won't turn on and they will do a warranty swap. In my experience they almost never check the water strips; I don't believe the HTC One X has strips due to its unibody closed design. Just to be safe shine a flashlight down the 3.5mm jack and the micro USB port and make sure there isn't any red or pink, yellow is ok.

All the AT&T stores I went into in the past ALWAYS check the water strips 100% of the time. Even with the phone like HOX or Nokia L900, there are water strips inside. I know for Nokia L900, it is located inside the micro SIM slot.
It's in the micro sim slot.
Man, that sucks. The real question now is, how much is a paperweight worth?

I am not expecting it to. However, it is still in rice. I am having a hard time bringing myself to put it back together and trying to turn it on. I have enough disappointment for the moment. If it does, I will sell it as working, revived.
Must say though, HTC did one hell of a job with the packaging. It's robust but you can take it apart with your hands and a thumb nail.

Hi,
My phone's display is sort of problematic - it has been so since the past 2-3 months.
The top right corner has a 0.5 cm column of yellowish shade about 3 cm long - only when displaying bright colours, like white, etc.
My warranty expires at the end of this month.
Has anyone faced similar problems?
Also, does this problem come under warranty?
FYI, I recently upgraded to Indian ICS using Kies and then flashed ardatdat's v4.2-beta6 kernel through CWM (not that this matters, because the display was problematic even before all of this).
Also, Samsung's website mentions only 1 Service Center in Gurgaon - and the phone number displayed against it is invalid. Can anyone let me know if they've been to the SSC in Gurgaon?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: SSC guys in Gurgaon were very helpful and prompt. Got my screen replaced with a new one 1 day before their initial estimate. All looks good until now, so I guess my scepticism was uncalled for. Still, fingers crossed.
I was about to post this one... Me too have this problem.. but i think, it happened because of long pressing on the screen.. As it is not disturbing much and as my warranty also over, i am living with it...

That's exactly the reason why I'm reluctant to go to the SSC - this is a problem I can live with.
And what with the news of i9103's hardware problems, I don't want them to replace anything (or even touch any internals) and replace with faulty hardware, which will hurt even more since I run out of warranty on 31st Jan.
My only concern right now is that the display should not get worse very quickly - and that's the reason I asked if I should go to the SSC while under warranty knowing the downfalls.
I've got very faint blue discolorations on upper center part of the screen. Very faint that it is barely noticeable with dark black and full brightness. Now that my warranty is over. Living on with it. If you have warranty, take the choice of living with it only if you are very confident that your nearby SSC folks are hapless bunch. Else, get it changed under warranty.

Well according to this page from their official website, the handset is fully covered under warranty for 1 year.
It says:

Exactly! That SSC guy opened the phone up completely and confirmed that no physical or liquid damage was there, and only then proceeded to let me know that it'll be corrected before Wednesday. I think had he seen something fishy he would have charged me the 7600 INR...
7600 is too much for this small issue... I know anything in display will be costlier... I will live with it as my warranty expired on December
Sent from my GT-I9103 using xda app-developers app
This is pure extortion man! For display issue u have to shell out ~8000, for MB the same price, for cam_lense ~5000...One of the guys also reported that he was asked to shell out as much as 8K for flashing stock ROM....at which point he came over xda and found out about "ODIN"..
I was being charged 2k for the charging jack problem..cuz they said it had liquid in it.
I fought over there..and it was done for free.
Because NO LIQUID WAS FOUND and the guy just lied.
This is the problem with non-company owned service centres.
Since then i visit only Nehru Place.
If you cannot get your query resolved..escalate the matter to Mr. RAJIV GANJU.
I have done it once and then samsung gets real friendly

Think its a bit too early to find them online allready. You might contact a service center, maybe they also sell the parts you need.
You are going to need a whole new front as the ifixit teardown said that the screen is fused to the chassis.

ALSO. It's gonna be an expensive part....
For my business with new iPhone parts they're always crazy expensive. Even s3 screens are ridiculous because most android parts aren't as mass produced as iPhone parts.

I think your safest bet is contacting Google, perhaps they could help out and replace a new phone for let's say half the price or something? I mean it's worth the try, that's what I would do, maybe not get them to give a brand new one but have them repair for a cheaper fee tell them how fragile the screen is and that you had some other phones fall down on their screens and they would not break down so you expect the same high quality from them, worth a shot?
another member in another thread said he called his credit card company and there was automatic insurance on the phone for the first 30-60 days or something like that. End of story is they are covering a cracked screen on his Nex5

Repairs are not free. A return can be made within 15 days of receiving the device. If you would like to repair the frame yourself, it will cost roughly $98-120 USD for the entire assembly, since it will damage the display if you try to remove everything yourself. You need specialized tools to do it, and it's still difficult to do. Cheapest alternative, buy a nice case to cover it up.

OnePlus can give you a quote if you call them, but only on parts, not labor. You will not have a device for probably 3 weeks, but I think they can give you that quote too.
