2.20 is the build number. You have build number 2.17.

It would be where you software version is. Me, I'm on 2.20 but you can see im running ViperXL 2.1.2
With you being on 2.17 that leads me to believe you have the international version of the phone. What's your carrier?

I'm not sure what you are saying. The att version is called the one xl. Since his phone identity says one x then he obviously has the international version. But sure, he can check his processr type to double check that.

AT&T One X.
All other variants are called the One XL, but the AT&T phone is called the One X.

Like I said early you have the one x. The international version with the quad core processor. If you had the att one xl then your phone identity would say one xl and processor dual core. You're in the wrong forum.

No problem scotman. These version names really are confusing. That may be why so many people flash the wrong stuff on their phone, because att isn't calling it the right name and thats all they go by.

Here's how to figure it out.
Look at the bezel above the screen. Do you see the HTC logo or the AT&T logo?
If it's the AT&T logo, you have the One XL, unless you have an Australian or Canadian variant of the One XL, but that seems doubtful.
If it's the HTC logo, you have the One X.

I just released a small update to my old rom about 30 minutes ago....
But now its going to be all about this puppy.
Edit: I've managed to extract my boot image, and am doing a thorough comparison of the 1.73 rogers boot img and the 1.68 at&t boot img... might be able to get something similar to paulobrien's 'INSECURE BOOT AND ROOT' happening.
That is great, Looking forward to this
Is there differences on between One X for AT&T and OneXL
I know only that One XL in Asia is running on LTE1800/2600Mhz Band
Will it be a problem when both model are running on different 4G system and frequency?

Should just need a different radio.
The hardware is the same and ROMs should be cross-compatible, but we'll have to wait and see.

Does the Other HOX Roms work on At&t HOX?

The title says it all.
does the other HOX Roms(ARHD, COREDROID, CLEARDROID...etc) flashable on AT&t's HOX?

Nope.
We technically have a One XL Codenamed Evita.
The Tegra 3 based phone is codename Endeavor. The only thing these phones share in common is the screen.

No. As gunnyman said, these are two different phones despite the similarity in names. The important internals are completely different.
If you try to flash one of these roms, the installation will either fail or you will brick your phone.
thanks for the answers!

What about the Rogers vs AT&T vs the two Asian versions? I remember someone claiming that the Asian version is closest to what HTC puts out, but is that just bloatware which is easy to remove or is there more to it

If the roms are here in this forum's dev section, you can flash. General rule of thumb, if it's not in THIS SECTION'S dev forum, do not flash it.

You'll have to wait for someone that knows about all that. I'm currently trying to teach myself, and I'm not willing to give you any false advice.

What are you using to edit the ro.product.model?
Hi,
You don't change it to Evita. THAT'S the HTC One XL codename.
Instead, you change it to Endevoru. That's HTC One S.
There are also more factors, like a product_name or something similar.
Good luck!

But wow thanks you have totally cleared up the OP's old redundant request about how to edit the build.prop to change the cosmetic name.
You have also reeducated the 350million people in USA and Canada about what HTC named their phone.
Amazing skills how you hacked get.cm to work out what name was for what phone.

Please, please make sure you know what you're talking about when posting on our forum. Being specific, correct, and thorough are incredibly important on XDA. Giving the wrong information can lead to confusing someone who's asking for help, it can even lead to bricking someone's device. That's why being careful and making sure you know what you're talking about is so important on this site.
