[Q] Hex/IMEI problem. Can't find it! - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've checked the help section and came up with nothing (although that sounds odd because there is tons of problems with this on this tab). But anyway I'm trying to register my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and can't find these numbers anywhere. Of course it doesn't have a keypad like a phone to type in a code to get it, so I'm stuck. There is nothing on the box, nothing on the back of the product, and nothing in the Settings>About Phone menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, that makes sense. I don't know why I didn't think of that. But what do I use to register the product? It asks for it, but obviously mine doesn't have one.

Where are you trying to register it?

I believe all you need is the serial number.....which tab do you have?? I just registered my gf gt-p3113 wifi only tab last nite and all i needed was the serial number. Make sure you pick the right model and select wifi only model instead of a carrier model

Does T-Mobile sell the vibrant or the galaxy s

Helping a friend out and I need to know he has a T-Mobile Samsung or a vibrant. They both have the same model number but before I upgrade his phone I don't want to brick it any help would be appreciated

What does it say when it boots up? Did you try looking on T Mobile's website before starting a thread? Are you sure they have the same model number?
They sold it to him as a galaxy s but everything I read is that they are basically the same phone just different regions. Honestly just was curious if someone knew the quick answer being it was bought from a T-Mobile store. Did a search but nothing came up definate. From what I read it should be a vibrant
Sorry guess it could have went into the stupid thread

The model numbers aren't the same. Search the model number of the phone and I bet you get your answer.
Ok vibrant 3g model # SGH-T959
Samsung Galaxy S 4g model #SGH-T959V
Both are TMobile phones
I could go on and on about the differences but ill leave that for you to spec out

I think that by chinese he meant a brandless phone
The "thing" you have there my friend looks like a noname phone which is more like a disposable cell phone.. I suggest you bring it back to the store and get a real phone.. I bet there are some phones that have a (popular) manufacturer on them and cost the same...
Buy a new phone lol

Got mine the other day and so far im loving it. What customizations have you done so far? So far I am trying out the Apex launcher, and using Skype for voice calling, but would like to find something that doesn't cost. We have a case coming that has a built in Bluetooth keyboard.
I deal with Excel all day and the Tab is a perfect.
I cant even find how to root it. I need to find the forum

I used vibor a few months ago and hated the call quality, lag was terrible when calling overseas. I haven't tried Tango overseas yet, but asked clients to install to test. I've heard Whatsapp was really good, but not available for my Tab2. Right now I'm sticking with Skype as we paid for a 1 year subscription.
I just got mine today and am as well looking for a way to root surprise they havent added a forum for the SGH-T779
The only bright spot is the hardware is very similar to the US SGS3 with a Qualcomm S4 but with 1G of RAM.
Got mine today,
Black Friday freebie! hopefully a root solution will come out soon!

Thanks, it shows GT-I9300
(Android version 4.0.4, Manufacturer no. IMM76D.I9300ZSALE9)
I know it is not an original S3 although it looks exactly the same. Many features do not function and I want to try (super noob as I am) to fix it.
Any other way to determine make?

Weird Hidden Easter Egg - Do you get this?

Found this while playing around on my Galaxy S4, Found out that it does not matter which phone you have.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7u7RXMSfeao
I have mixed result, half and half. Some people get it others don't .also it don't matter what service or phone you have as others have had different results. I have the galaxy S4 on T-Mobile . Some say they don't get it while having the same set up as me.
Works on any Android phone, image varies per version. You just need to tap Android Version numerous times. (5-7).
Edit: Ah, the second half of the Video wouldn't load. Now it does. No, that I have not seen before.
T-mobile Nexus 4 here. Doesn't work for me. Wonder why.

there has not been one person who can say that they seen this before? this is funny
works for me
perhaps you need to tap several times rapidly
Tap what several times? Did you watch the whole video?

"You are not registered for the use of this service" translated from Norwegian.
Unless my phone is a freak of nature this shows it has nothing to do with the phone, you're calling a carrier "service."

I think its just a T-mobile service but the thing is that people on T-mobile outside of New York don't get this. Funny I think it only works if you have a T-Mobile phone in New York. I Also did it on a Galaxy S2 from T-Mobile running on Simple Mobile Plan.
