Gapps is not a ROM. If you meant "can you install a ROM without gapps", then yes, but you won't have certain features (e.g. Play Store).

Gapps stands for Google apps. These are apps that they can't legally distribute with the rom so you must add them separately but you need to use gapps compatible with your OS

You can if you're going to use a different ROM. Gapps are not standalone (you need a ROM).

The ROM is like a heart for the Android system, without that you can't get anyware

It would help if you provided some info. What device are you using? Have you tried flashing Gapps?

Read through the ROM's thread to see if its a known issue. If not, try reporting it there (or ask in your device's section).

Maybe its just not included? You can always install a 3rd party camera anyways, or find any CM10 ROM and extract the camera app from that and install on your device.

If you have the original rom of DerArtem then you only need to install the rom.

fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase linux
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot

I think DerArtem is bussy with a cm10.1 rom (android 4.2). Than you can install the full android 4.2 rom.

You can try another app store, for example- aptoid(make sure to download only free apps due to the fact that downloading payed apps is against the law.)

Anyways... Try to flash this zip on your recovery: "goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip"

Try to use other apps market. For instance, appbrain, this is the link www.appbrain.com
I hear some people has the same problem and successfully using this site.

Google camera force close fix

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had the camera fix for force close when switching to HDR I had the zip file somewhere and flashed a ROM and can't remember where I had it can someone help

Fix
Try disabling Google services or freeze it using titanium backup and then open the camera app. This worked for me.

This did not work. Is this the same fix posted by slim? It appears you need an account to d/l the fix on slimRom but can't register an account lol.
