tj_style is prepared to develop a Custom Rom and a Recovery imagefor Galaxy Fit

Hi to all members of Galaxy Fit Subform
Today,I took the liberty to contact tj_style on belhalf of this subforum and asked him if he
would be prepared to help us port Clockwork Recovery Mod For Galaxy Fit.
His answer was " i don't have the device, that's the problem ".
I responded as follows; "Suppose we collect some money from the forum so that you can buy one, would you port a CWM for it.Please advise ."
He replied : "yes, if i have one. i can start to developing rom for that device.
i will not release rom or recovery that not tested by me.. because i think is dangerous..

So guys here is a chance to donate the price of a Galaxy Fit for tj_style so that he starts developing a Rom and a CWM for our device.
If interested , we could form a fund where each one contributes a sum fo money to be sent to tj_style so that he can buy the phone.
Please come up with workable alternative suggestions so that we implement this proposal.

Actually I shouldn't say this.. but now I can't stop myself to say this thing... I have been seeing alot of people to donate tj_style from a couple of months ... but just can't understand where the whole money is goin.... galaxy mini owners were donating him from a really long time... galaxy fit owners are donating himm now... plz somebody tell me that whether the money he get till now after so many donations wasn't enough for him to buy a new device or what....

Go through the galaxy mini forum and see the amount of development he has done for the device...and the money he gets from the donation is for the time and hard work he invests in development...why the hell would he use that money to buy a device when we want him to develop for our device....

that forum too, he mentioned some prob with his own galaxy mini and people were giving donations to him so that he cud buy that galaxy mini again and continue his developing....... at that time too... he hasng shown any positive post that this much amount is more needed or very less donations or donations are enough to buy a new gmini.... he never shared any news and the accepted donations blindly without informing the truth... at that time too people needed him... so they were donating..... and donations on the base of his work was very very less(actually very minute) if u noticef carefully.... and now... situation is making an image of him in my mind that he is a serious game planner.... afterall who knows truth except he himself..... so... i don't recommend at all that the members of this forum should donate him..... coz how wud he know that how much money he collected from this forum n what else he collected on the base of his development.... there is no system like u can mention that u r donating him on this reason.... u can only provide feedback... n I believe making him buy our device for our benefits is like bribe-ing him....

Guys to develop the device that takes quite a long time and spend lots of time. so respect it.
so if you do not want to donate for the device. but do not provoke guys.

[NOTICE] I9003 Users Development Donation

Clearly there has been certain situations where some of you are not content with your phone, or rather consider your phone "Useless", rather than building a campfire to light the phone on fire or donate it to a homeless man, I would insist that you consider the following options to donate your phone to these developers.
Certain developers are willing to take a look at this phone, I know most of you are willing to get rid/dispose of your phone due to your lack and feel of no progress, rather we are taking the initiative to reboot this motive so that developers familiar with the hardware layout of the I9000 or such may also have the experience of the I9003 to see what can be done, and in better hopes help codeworkx resume his project of CM7.
Below shall be updated regularly with the current name's of the developer's, what they wish to accomplish followed by what they specialize in. The list shall contain their name's linked to their profile.

Thanks for your trust in me, but poorly there´s no one.
It´s not necessary that the phone is free of cost for me, it should be only cheap.

i am willing to pass my phone on cheap, as soon as i got a new on (S2 or Nexus, will see)
problem is that i am sitting in china, so if you are in Dongguan/HK area, i am able to meet up, apart from that, i dont pay delivery fee although i can organise cheap delivery

even Doomlord is also ready to work on our device. Like how codeworkx is recognised developer for galaxy devices like that Doomlorad is most famous recognised developer for sony experia devices. Just search on xda as 'doomlord kernal' u will come to know that he is really a super master in kernal developement. Just few days ago xperia community donated latest experia phone to him for developement. So we should donate him also a phone. He is living in pune, india. So indian people can easily donate him via private bank account & other can donate him paypal account.

@vishal open a thread and we wil donate to doomlord..u can talk to him.

ya good idea. I will donate also but problem is if I open a thread for donation then I cant maintain it regularly because for 1 month now onwards I am busy with study for exam. Now my exams are near. So if a senior member is free then he should take initiative to start a donation thread.

hey Lordrdx666 what u think should we start thinking seriously about donation once again...? Because I dont want that I will be only one who want to donate phone doomlorad...! If many people are ready to pay then 10,000 rs is not a big ammount. Even its half of amount that we had donated to codeworkx.

¤¤¤ ICS Testing ¤¤¤

Hey guys, so i've talked with Zackconsole , he is porting ICS to Huawei Ideos U1850 , it's in Beta 3 now and he's done a great job especially taking into consideration the hardware he's dealing with. Anyways , he doesn't own a I9001, but he said that he is ready to port for us if we're ready to test his builds, basically he needs one private tester, and the rest can test when builds get published, normally i would've volunteered to test, but i have 2 serious exams coming in February (i'm a med student) and will be absent from the forums for a while , so we're looking for someone who has the time to keep testing and communicating with the dev, logcatting and reporting errors, so if anyone is interested plz let me know. it won't be easy, but if sakindia managed to get Cranium to where it is now without having the device, this project might succeed, in addition as seen in his signature Zackconsole owns an Arc S , which should make it even easier to use their bases...
Update: OK , so from now on FaqihCici will be working with Zackconsole , any questions/info should be addressed to him.
for the following few days i'm still free and ready to help in any way if needed. i hope more and more people will join too. Gd. Luck guys
Note: i kindly ask the mods not to move/delete this thread only for a couple of days untill we see how many users are ready for testing.

i would prefer if the person who will work with him start since the first build, but if we don't find any, i'll keep testing for the time i could be online and someone will have to take over. let me know if some1 is interested to start the work from today.

could be a good idea.. or not. if they were to team up im sure the developement would be faster and easier. then again when two strangers team up might cause conflict.. maybe for now, it is best each one make their own

I think it's better if Zackconsole starts the port and at least we get a booting version first, since he knows from where to start thanks to his ICS ports for other devices, then the whole community including guys like manveru0, YardE, skywalker01 and others could join forces and fix what can be fixed to get to where SGS is now so, definitely our priority is to get a booting version, hopefully with working touchscreen, other hardware stuff and tweaks will follow on.
Edit: annoymous1234 u're also Malaysian, so maybe u could help FaqihCici in case he needs it

I am totally ****ed up and my phone is screwd.. My warranty got over. Still gave it in the service centre. Replaced the motherboard.. i had to pay 5000 rs.. Still problem persists.. Now they are asking to change the touch screen panel.. It costs rs 7000.. I cnt afford it.. :crying::crying::crying:

sorry bro but i loved my sl when i saw it first n my still in love with it.Samsung firmware has made it crap.I think many will agree

I see too much yawning here, and exaggeration...
Stock Latest UAE firmware is stable and smooth, but yes, it's Gingerbread.
Today CM9 alpha 10 was released, with noticeable improvements, and dhiru said CM10 will follow.
I had no problems whatsoever with the phone except lately when i dropped it from a window (1st floor) to concrete, this caused the plastic back to crack, it dropped straight so there was no screen damage.
So, it's a great phone, but YOU are not lucky.
Of course i have an S3 as a daily device, but i am still quite happy with the SL.

did they make you pay Rs 5000 for motherboard even though the problem wasn't fixed ?

It will also underline samsung's commitment to their customers of providing them best experience and support.

Less ram is just a fake reason for not providing ICS. If we observe carefully Nexus S which was produced by samsung itself has nearly same specs, same ram etc. but still it gets jellybean update officially by google. Then why not our phone...???

Less ram is just a fake reason for not providing ICS. If we observe carefully Nexus S which was produced by samsung itself has nearly same specs, same ram etc. but still it gets jellybean update officially by google. Then why not our phone...???

As per my personal experience touch wizard takes less ram as compared to go launcher ex which I always use. But still I always get nearly 220 mb free ram for usage.
Samsung is just giving us excuses for not giving ICS.

That depends, in new valuepacks, touchwiz itself shows how bad it's optimized.
They simply don't want to waste their time with our device, so getting the things they already worked on for developers is enough i guess.

Skander1998, just copy paste your question here and whoever wants to email samsung, will send that same email thru the link.
I'll change it a bit to make sure it goes thru if they could make something that would filter the standard text out.

According to Samsung the device won't receive an ICS update because of RAM issues, but did samsung even develop a working (or partially working) ICS build to find out the RAM issues in the first place ?
If so is there any possibilities for making those source codes open source for download?
Developers in XDA are currently porting CM9 to this device, and those sources (If even available) might be helpful to finally get a working ICS custom ROM.
I do understand that it's not Samsung's job to help with such stuff, but if the work is there sharing it would be helpful.

From previous conversations and official samsung updates, I understand Samsung did try to get ICS working for this device(Samsung S LCD GT-I9003).
It would be really helpful to developers, who are helping a lot of device owners, have a taste of this wonderful version of android, if samsung can help supply whatever source code they had when they tried to get ICS working for this phone.
It will also underline samsung's commitment to their customers of providing them best experience and support.
Hopefully, you will look into this and do the correct thing by supplying source codes, to make sure we stay samsung customer when we plan a new device.

Actually they have wasted so much time to give updates from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 firmware update. Actually they just dont want to work on building kernel 3.x on OPAM 3630 chipset which they have rarely used for android devices. Anyway I have mailed them. I dont know how to mail in correct manner but I have used little rude language so that they should understand how much people are frustrated with samsung attitude.

Used Hetalk's version. Lets get more people to do this!

I would suggest you to ask for a stable value pack.
Means the stock launcher should be worked out.
I saw video of value pack for galaxy s.
That is better than us.
