So I was browsing around and discovered this app that allows you to change your boot animation without having to do much work at all. It is free but there is a lot of goodies you get for buying the paid version. I just tested it on my Atrix 2 running Numa vb.2 (which is a amazing rom) and it works with no problem! But i cant speak for all Atrix 2's so i cant guarantee it will work for you.
Here is the App:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5qcnVtbXkuYXBwcy5ib290LmFuaW1hdGlvbnMiXQ..
And here is Numa which I suggest all of you try at least once if you want a custom rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960679
Any chance you could give a step by step guide on how to load that numa rom? I have rooted atrix 2, but from there lost. I tried a few things with no success, very frustrated. Thanks

We have covered how to do this manually many times before... Please search first next time.
And P.S. This is not a question so it belongs in the general section next time.... Q&A is ONLY for questions, not how to's.
I know, I actually read that. But giving into my lazy nature I found the easy way out to doing it haha but I will try to move it when I get home

I'd be a rich man if i have a dollar for every time i've seen one of these posts. The best ROM for you is depends on you, your desires, and how your phone react to it. Everyone will tell you what ROM they run, but you'll never know what you like until you try them all. And you must use ClockWorkMod Recovery to flash anything custom (ie ROMs, kernels, themes, MODs, etc.)
So when I find a rom.what.do I do as fast as steps

Like i said, you need ClockWorkMod Recovery first, you can see how to flash it here
Once you have that flashed and working, you can download your ROM, put it on the root of your sd card, reboot into ClockWorkMod Recovery, then follow the ROM developer's install instructions, since some devs (like me) may recommend a full /system & /data wipe prior to flashing.
Step 1: Use the search function
Step 2: Read
Step 3: Follow directions
You should be all set
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220088
i did this on my infuse gingerbread (rooted) and once downloaded i cannot finish the setup process because email process force close's as soon as its time to use my email. what should i do?
Be sure that you follow the 4 main steps before you flash any ROM or PORT for a good flash:
On CWM (Recovery Mode screen blue or red)
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe Cache partition
3. Advanced>Clean dalvik cache
After this steps flash your rom then:
4. Advanced/Fix Permisions.
It works for me all times.
Regards,
How will I flash then if I remove all my data including root. Everything I wipe to factory it goes back to froyo non root. Do I keep recovery for the flashing somehow? And during the whole setup like connecting to Wi-Fi it's clean works goods no lag then email force closes there has to be a reason other than me not wiping to factory.. isn't that the point of these kind of apps.. why download it if I'm gonna spend the next 4hrs trying figure out.... I'm just gonna stop here with root. The rest of it is way!!!!!!! To much lol. You guys have at it tho!!

ok, stay in this thread I already request to close your other one ok, now lets start over what are doing and what have you done, and what rom are you on or trying to go to...?
just take it easy it is prob an easy, quick fix...ok
OK but I bet u get confused and quit lol. OK I'm on gingerbread. 2.3.6 rooted blah blah blah. Lol OK now once I do the infused download threw rom manager I get to the point were it's time to put in my email and it pops up email.process failed to start force close or something to that nature. Anyway after trying this one and Ics I now have a new bootanimation which was the point of the whole deal. Lol it's a suck one but hey!!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Why are you using Rom manager? I've only heard of bricks and problems from people using it...just download a Rom you want from xda, then boot into cwm and flash from cwm recovery by following instructions from the roms thread on xda
You may also just wanna try going back to stock through Odin/heimdal to fix your email problems if you don't wanna flash a Rom
Also what is the ics download your referring to? There are multiple ice roms/ports...you need to be as specific as possible on anything and everything...I always say better more than not enough
Also...just to clarify when you are in cwm and you wipe data/factory resetit only wipes your apps and system data...recovery is in the kernel which is not wiped...so if you follow the instructions of the roms op and do all the wipes then you can still flash
Good luck hope you get it all fixed
PS...bigjoe knows what he's doing as do a lot of us here...I don't think most of us,are gonna get confused and quit...as for me I love solving problems and trouble shooting so I know I won't quit

But yeah download a Rom from this site and assuming you have cwm recovery boot into it (hold power plus volume up+down, as soon as it turns off and the Samsung logo pops up release the buttons) then wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache, then install from sdcard, locate Rom and flash it.

Hey Motorola Atrix 2sers!
You guys have a great device! I have a Samsung Infuse 4G but I'm working with my Dad's Motorola Atrix 2 on AT&T and he's running the newest official release of Gingerbread 2.3.6 from AT&T (OTA as I believed its called)
I just rooted it today using the one click method and I attained root completely fine. Superuser and a few other root-only apps work perfectly.
Now my Dad wants ICS on it and I have a few questions:
1) I can't find the ICS ROM leak though I've seen it mentioned multiple times. Can someone redirect me please?
I found a version of CM9 here (actually, it looks just like what I'm running on my Infuse) but I don't know if it's legit. (http://droidsans.com/node/80867) This link came from a thread started in the Development section in the forum here for this device (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781177)
I'd prefer the official leak I keep seeing mentioned to this sketchier CM9 but I'd be fine using CM9 if it's verified to run smoothly. I need a ROM that is as functional for day to day use as possible; I am not, nor will I pretend to be, a developer (And by the way, I'd like to take this as a moment to thank all the developers that make these projects and modifications a reality. You guys rock)
2) I ran into a problem getting Clockwork as the recovery mode. I used a method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346977) involving installing an app called Atrix 2 Bootstrapper and simply selecting the reboot recovery option while running the app. When I selected that option, the phone just rebooted normally.
From searching around, I think this has to do with the bootloader being locked, but I can only find a way to unlock the bootloader for the atrix 4G, and I don't wanna risk bricking since I'm working with the Atrix 2. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871&highlight=automatic) Will this 4G method work?
3) Would I be OK just flashing this version of ICS (or any, ROM for that matter) onto the device through the stock Recovery mode? If I use the volume up/down & power button method, enter recovery, and press up/down volume again, I'm able to enter a form of Recovery that appears similar to Clockwork. Is this okay to use for flashing any ROM onto the device?
4) Would I need to flash the Google apps as well? Play store, maps...etx...If so, where could I find a package for them?
I realize it's a lot of super specific questions, and I apologize if they've been answered, but I've combed every relevant thread I could find.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regarding the Bootstrapper: No, it did not work just fine. I tried it multiple times, but each time I selected "reboot recovery" it would just reboot normally.

FXZ from ICS to GB will have a 99% chance of bricking. So if you mess up your are stuck.
CWM is best, check the development thread for CWM on boot thread.

Are you sure your Dad's phone is an MB865, and not an ME865?
If it is an ME865 that might be why it is not working... most of the things in here have really been setup or tested on the MB865 for AT&T USA models, somethings work on other versions of the A2 but not everything.

I'm sorry, but you really couldn't Google this? No need to start a new thread. I don't mean to sound rude or something, but after being on this forum for a little while you'll learn that a lot of problems can be solved by seeking the answer yourself.
Make sure your rom supports custom boot animations. Download a boot animation of your choice. Copy the "bootanimation.zip" file and paste it in system/media. If you're like me and you have a bootanimation installer within your rom, you can just select the .zip and the work will be done for you. Alternatively, you could download an app that comes pre-loaded with a bunch of animations. Usually all you have to do is press the "install" button and it does the work for you.

Surprisingly, I never thought about searching for an app for that. Thanks for the suggestion haha
Update: I downloaded Rom Toolbox Pro and tried using custom boot animations through that. For some reason my phone's boot animation will not change. No matter what I do, it stays on ATT's boot animation... idk what to do
Update: I found out that the ROM I'm running on isn't deodexed. Basically, I can't personalize anything that has to do with themes. I'm running on ICS 4.0.3. Any help on what to do is appreciated..

Yeah. Google "Orthus rom galaxy s2 skyrocket" and the xda link should be on the first page if not the first result. Download the zip for Orthus Five, download the gapps zip and download the boot loop fix zip. Make backups, preferably in both Nandroid and Titanium if you have the space. Boot the phone into recovery, factory restore and wipe cache and davlik, flash the Orthus zip, flash the gapps zip and flash the loop fix zip. Reboot your phone and set your basic data up (Google account, wifi password, etc). Sign into the play store and redownload Titanium and restore your apps. Keep your nandroid backup in case you want to return to whatever rom you're on now.

I just have to point this out to EVERYONE. This is one reason you do NOT EVER remove busybox. It was not the fact the the hijack was removed, but because busybox links itself to MANY critical "linux" functions, and it does not re-link those back to the motobox (minimal busybox like binary), or rename old bin files if they were there before, so there are things like mount and other functions that do not work properly.
I am not chastizing the OP here, just making a point to everyone about busybox, as this has been mentioned very little in the forums, so I thought this is a good place to point this out and the hazards with removing busybox, it will bootloop you nearly everytime.
It is better to just fxz back to full stock before/instead of removing busybox. Although I am still really not sure why anyone would want to remove busybox at all, it gives you a ton of linux utilities all in one binary and creates links to things like mount, etc.

I totally dis-agree. It does have bearing in here, because if someone does actually do a search for removing busybox on an atrix 2, this will come up. That was really the ONLY reason I put it here. And also the Brick thread is really for bricks, removing busybox is a whole other can of worms. And look I have respect that you have come up lately and taken an active role in here, but don't forget I have been trail blazing on this phone for over a year now, and have been trying to save people from themselves the whole time, so maybe re-read and think about why I did what I did in here. I know that. I just wanted to make sure that you understood. As I said I was not jumping on you at all. I just really wanted you and others to realize I am trying to help out future busybox users that may want to uninstall, and "actually" use the search function, that was all.
Can I uninstall busybox free and install busybox probably. Plz help?

As Jim said, you CANNOT uninstall a Busybox. So its best to take Ti back of your stuff and do a RSD install, then install busybox of your choice.
