Is it possible to use Stickmount to connect a USB Thumb Drive to a rooted Inspire if you have the requisite cable? I'm probably going to be upgrading my phone fairly soon, but if it will work for the old Inspire, I figure it will work for newer phones too. Also, Staples has a 128 SanDisk Cruzer on sale for $59.99 in their circular this week.

Only if someone has implemented USB OTG to kernel of Rom. I don't know of anyone who has done this though.

daydeal has this but I'm not sure if it works. I know their cases are official T-mobile cases because I saw the cases they had at my local store and I ordered one case from them and it came in official T-mobile packaging and had the retail price on it, also the case I bought retailed for 24.99 and I got it from there for 16.99 so it might work and also it says OEM HTC.
Someone said that didn't fit in their phone. Also the HDMI I bought from them for my Vibrant was incompatible and was recalled... so... :S
The web site said it works with the g2

Disregard that. As soon as this is confirmed working, I'm buying one. That's sweet.

What about old Nokia tv-out cable?
Someone on the T-Mobile forums got it from DayDeal and said it wasn't compatible. DayDeal is WRONG about compatibility ALOT

Daydeal is wrong the cable wont fit its not micro usb its only made for the droid. please don't buy. Search the net for g2 tv out i dont even think the g2 supports it
How can't the latest phone support TV Out >.< Is this a joke or something htc...
No joke. If it supported it I'm sure it would be on the spec sheet just like all the other phones that support TV out. It's not, so it doesn't. I would love to be proven wrong, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
IMHO i don't really see a need for my phone to connect to a TV...
I would love to have google nav on my cars built in screen, which has video in. Good reason, yes?

That's because you don't own a gorgeous television ;o Or maybe you do.
Even then to each his own. I want to play emulators/games on my tv from the phone. With a Wiimote. What's so terrible about that
I can confirm that the HTC TV out cable does not work with the G2.
Damn... Can someone try to get analog TV-Out from the 3.5mm jack?
Some Nokia phones and some digital cameras are currently using it for TVOut.. I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't work, but if we get device's schematics we can see if it's wired.
If it's wired we can always make a kernel module or build a custom kernel that supports it!

They probably mean the HTC Hero or myTouch 3G. They were incorrectly called G2 sometimes.
I can second that the cable from day deal does not fit the g2. I was looking forward to hook up my phone up to my cars radio. but the cable is def not a micro usb like they say it is. Theirs gotta be a way to use the micro usb as a tv out port. It would be great for emulators, you tube and also netflix and hulu if they ever come out for android.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk
MicroUSB can't carry out TVOut signal!
Anyway, as the HTC Vision kernel sources are available (leaked) I can examinate the video driver to see if there's at least an option for TVOut through 3.5mm jack.. but we should open up a G2/DesireZ for seeing if it's wired, 'cause if the TVOut through 3.5mm procedure is written in the drivers but it's not wired in the phone it's still useless.
Ok guys I was just wondering if I could get some recommendations on what tablet to get. Well I'm looking for the best tablet for around $500 and I was planning to buy it off eBay so I could get it for less. I was looking at the HTC flyer but it only has a single core 1.5 ghz and I don't know how much power that really is. So back to the main topic what's the best/strongest tablet for around $500? Thanks in advance!
(Also I really don't care if I could put my T-Mobile sim in or if it doesn't have mobile network support and I plan to root of course )

Well, the Transformer is not bad and it is the cheapest of the bunch (all pretty much share the same specs). The galaxy Tab 10.1 has a better UI and it is slimmer, but not quite sure if I would pay an extra $50-$100 just for that.
The Acer Iconia has one feature that I like which the TF does not have: the body of the Iconia has standard USB ports with host support, whereas the TF has a weird proprietary connector (which is also USB btw), so you will need an adapter if you are interested in attaching anything to it.
Hope this helps.
I decided to go with the transformer because the tab 10.1 doesnt have a micro sd card slot so im not sure how cwr would work and the tf has usb hosting but i guess ill just have to buy that proprietary cable could i get it off of amazon possibly?

You sure that the tab 10.1 don't have sd card? Hmm, maybe only 8.9 have sd when i think about it...
Transformer was probably your best bet, I've heard nothing but good about it.
I've been thinking about getting myself an Hdmi Mhl Adapter for My Epic for awhile, so I'm currenty on the look out for one at tjhe moment. Has anyone here bought themselves one of these and worked well enought? Also, what dictates the tv compatibility of these things? I've heard only certain ones work with them.
The Epic is not MHL capable.
STOP!!!!!
DO NOT BUY THE MHL IT IS INCOMPATIBLE we haven not gotten tv out working yet. The dev came back a month or two ago after being gone for a year. He had a terrible accident I believe. I havnt seen him on since. Either way dont buy mhl.
Well so much for that hope... there any other subsitutions for video out I could possibly use?

Just to make sure, you have an Epic 4G and not an Epic 4G Touch right? If you have an Epic 4G, it is not MHL compatible. If you have an Epic 4G Touch, it is MHL compatible, but this is the Epic 4G section.
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a cheap laptop but I really only have $200-$230 to spend. Do think this'll work? I have a Nexus 7 and a Nexus 4 coming soon, but I really just want a nice word processing machine. The TF101+Keyboard dock should work perfectly for that.
Anything wrong with my plan? I use Gapps for pretty much all my school work so I should be good.
Also, how much are these things worth these days? Will $230 get me the 16gb model with the keyboard dock?

Depending on where you buy, it can get you that combination. Try CTO.

Hello guys, im thinking to get a new 64gb micro sd card for my s4 19505, currently using a 32gb samsung class 10 one with no issues at all.
So I"ve found 2 choices which im interested in. Can someone please suggest which one would be more better and compatible with the s4 as i have read that some cards give problems. Neverthess i found the following two on ebay:
Samsung Essentials 64gb Class 10:
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=111210443073
Samsung Pro UHS-1 64gb Class 10:
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=151162891126
The price difference is not much. If anyone has owned either one, could you please give some feedback and advice. Thanks

I would go with the Pro in the second link. The first one looks entry level (might even be fake).
I have the pro, it's ok, not sure if it's a problem with my phone or pc, but if I try to copy too much onto it at once (usually when I copy a few albums at a time), it fails after a while (10 mins or so), meaning I have to copy things over bit at a time leaving a bit of time between the copying, almost like the card gets hot or copy cache gets overloaded (not sure if it does). It's a step up from the sandisc ultra 64GB ones I've had that just refuse to work (had two that just don't work any more). Could be due to me running Pac Rom (I've kept it updated to the most recent stable build). Just to mention, it has the same issues regardless of format (NTFS or FAT32). Never had any of these issues with 32GB cards. Still, the sammy one does at least work. Hope that helps.
Thanks for feedback, still not sure which one to get out the two, was feeling the pro one but as its mentioned that it has some errors im having 2nd thoughts now.
Currently have the 32gb Samsung essentials version which is flawless... maybe the 64gb of it could be just as good?? Anyone currently have one and could please shed some light? Thanks

Any reason you are looking at ebay? Personally there are too many fakes on ebay that I would not trust purchasing something like that there. You can easily find this on Amazon or Newegg.
@cbb77, I prob wont get it from ebay, its for demostration purposes only.

any 64gb will do, you won't get full speed on any phone apart from the note 3.
Didn't know how much a sd card mattered as far as the difference between them all. Glad i read this before I bought one for mine.

I bought a 64GB MicroSD card on ebay and it was fake. Between receiving it and returning it, took me 3 weeks, and I had to pay for return shipping. It turned out it was stamped as a 64GB card but only held 4GB. Save your time. I then went on amazon about 6 months ago and bought samsung branded 64GB micro SD card and have never had any problems with it to date. I definitely recommend the samsung micro sdxc UHS-1 Class 10. It's the one i'm using.

The only thing is that I can not reach speeds above: written 12.9MB/s and read 19.5MB/s.
