[Q] How to fix CRT-off animation? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I wish to know if there is something I can do to fix the bugged CRT-off animation after JB update (with stock kernel).
I haven't found any guide for dummies or something like these and the only way to fix it until now, is to flash another kernel..
I'm using the last thalamus kernel but neither it fix the problem..
So, what to do?? I wich to have stock kernel/ROM for now, but this issue is annoying me.
Thanks in advance.

flash this kernel: http://d-h.st/fY5
it's the closest to stock you can get
source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1854366

thanks for hint, but I'm searching for a patch or something like this..
I've founded some "codes" for fixing this problem, but can't understend how to do that manually..
I found a guide for enable CRT on GSII.. It says that I have to replace "libsurfaceflinger.so" in system/lib..
So, can I fix it extracting this file from my actual "fixed" non-stock ROM to a stock ROM (4.x)????
I don't think so, but I have to try..
PS sorry for bad english..

does anyone have an official debloated 2.3.6

Hello, i'm looking for an official debloated 2.3.6 firmware for the sgs4g..
I was wondering if anyone has it? I know there is a debloat zip creator, but that doesn't work through the stock recovery...
I don't want the 2.3.6 with kc1 because that creates a bug with the sdcard constantly having to be read....
Thanks for you help

Another alternative is to install the Blastoff Kernel @bhundven made, you can grab it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828171
It will give you root on your rom which will allow you to use my debloater so you can pick exactly which apps you want to remove. It will also give you the option of upgrading to a more recent ROM. I would actually recommend this seeing that there are a lot of problems with running 2 year old software and I feel that the current batch of kit kat roms available are at a state that you can use them as daily drivers with no major issues.

[Completed] Sensors issue after changing rom or upgrading to a new os?? Help?

After updating to a new rom i mean flashing a custom rom JB to KK, the sensors malfunctioned and it is seen that reverting back to a previous rom fixed the issue. But can someone guide which type of files or sensir files i need to get from my previous stock JB and replace or add in KK so that the rom would work fine. Anybody who has experience in working with building roms can help out. Thanks in advance.:good:
Can you please post the Device and the Rom in question ? That will help me point you in the right direction.
It is not as easy as replacing Kitkat files with JellyBean files and hope to make it work.

Everyone experiences them in 5.1.x roms. The problem is in system code. I myself returned to cm12 nightly because of these. Wait for Varun to fix it

Thank you, would it be possible to retain the custom kernel (thunderzap 4.14) everytime auto flash the updates of nightlies?. because the rom updates uses cyanogen recovery which my zip files are not working, so i have to go to bootloader and flash boot cwm recovery. is it a normal routine?
im currently using Philz Touch cwm recovery.

Boot Sound on Android 4.4.2 AOSP

Hello guys,
I am posting here just for a simple topic which I couldn't get help from anywhere. It might feel stupid but I want to add boot sound on my AOSP based kitkat ROM but couldn't find any clue about it as none came stock.
So can anyone guide me to accomplish this task ?
I found a lot of places citing how to change boot sound but nowhere to add one. And other Custom Roms for my device like MIUI and Galaxy S5 ROMs had bootsound on them. So I think there is support and I just need to activate it somehow. So please friend grant my wish and teach me how to do this..
Thanks in advance.

clean install again without custom kernel
The problem is that I've never flashed a custom from neither a custom kernel.
Now I've unrooted the phone and it's not happening, but I'd like go know what it's the source of the problem.
Same problem happened to me
