New Update Comming? - Asus Transformer TF700

So I was so mad that Need For Speed Most Wanted didn't work on the Tablet so I asked on Firemonkeys Support why and they told me this
Code:
Hi Rodolfo,
We apologize that we have not been able to support your device for launch.
Unfortunately there are some problems with the GPU drivers on the ASUS Transformer range that
ASUS and nVidia are aware of and working to release a firmware update to fix.
Once these issues have been corrected, your device should be able to download the game.
Regards,
Nina.

Who are firemonkeys?

The new need for speed works for me.

It works for me too but it isn't officially supported and games goes slow as hell
Firemonkeys are the Developers of need for speed...

Could be true or could be there way of passing the blame, Who knows to be honest..

Please, lame excuses.
All EA and Gameloft games work fine on the Infinity. They're just too lazy to change the compatibility list on Google Play. I'm running most of them, all without issues.

Imo, doesn't mean anything special. This tablet has some gaming performance problems with many games, not only NFSMW. Check Asphalt 7, The Dark Knight and Babel Rising 3D performance compared to let's say a Galaxy S3. Resolution may be a factor but gpu is weak even in those so hyped Tegra 3 games with choppy framerates (i have watched some Nexus 7 gaming videos, framerate doesn't seem to be different in some games)

Agreed. I have Asphalt 7 and TDKR.
S3 = perfect!
TF700 = Framerate lag. However, Asphalt 7 is bearable if you play with the keyboard or a controller (the lag is less noticeable like that, for me at least).
It's sad how such a high quality tablet with great specs performs so poorly. Hah, a smartphone can perform better than a tablet. Wow.

I'm not sure I could trust a statement like that unless it came from Asus or nvidia directly. Forward that directly to Tien or Gary and see what they say.

Yes, and if im not mistaken the point is about the how well a game works on the infinity. So since we are talking about a game...it belongs in the app section regardless of whether it need to be fixed by the app maker or asus. Just saying...

Can somebody ask it to Asus by e-mail or telephone, I'm Brazilian so I cannot do many thing from here...
I just tired to ask something to Asus and don't get a anwser.
The "updates" from Asus are like "downdates" once that its just give "little gifts" for us, gifts like the mysteriously reset.

I got today a message about new update for my Asus 700, and updated it just from OTA to version JB 4.1.1 - JR003C.WW_epad-10.4.4.20-20121026.
All wents smooth and without problems. After update root was gone, but voodoo Keeper made his magic... Also-root work fine now as well...

[Q] SimCity on Asus Transformer TF300

So I got SimCity originally for my DHD in the £/$0.10 sale.
Google Play states it's compatible with TF300. I download, run and open fine.
However within 5 minutes of playing the game will completely freeze up. Sound continues to play, and will continue to play even after returning to the home screen.
Has anyone else tried? Also I'm on version .17. I don't know if an update will fix it.
I also purchased simcity on my pad and had the same exact problem. Doesn't seem like EA is doing much to address this either, given it's low eating in the Play Store

I tried to find a way to contact EA about the problem but couldn't. When you go to game support, SimCity for mobile or Android doesn't show up.
Same issue here; it seems it's a problem with ICS.
If someone have a solution it will be great .
Almost certainly related to this problem. My users are reporting similar problems on my apps that are utilizing the newer ARMv7 instructions.
My solution to this problem would be to cut your losses and boycott ea games and not buy anymore android games from them anymore. If you have been around the android scene long enough, you would know that they are notorious for providing little to no support for their android games. If later on down the road, the game works for you, then great. If not, oh well.

TF201 and TF700

My buddy brought over his new shiney Infinity. I used it for a little while and for some reason couldn't really feel a difference in performance over my Prime. I thought when newer tablets are released they would at least perform better, no?
My wish is getting Android to run on the ipad 3.
It is basically the same device with a better screen. You won't see a performance gain until a new generation of chipsets drop and Jelly bean is available. I had some terrible WiFi performance issues that got on my last nerve and the infinity by all reports seems to have fixed those issues. That is why I'm upgrading

Actually, isn't the Tegra 3 clocked higher in the TF700 (I thought that I read that somewhere)? Plus, it has faster memory, so you *should* see a slight increase in performance. Unless that performance gain is negated by the extra pixels that it needs to push!

Currently, there is not much of difference in performance between the Prime and TF700 because there aren't many apps that can take full advantage of the higher resolution screen or the higher clock speed. I have owned Prime, TF300 and now Infinity and for me Infinity is definitely a complete product compared to its previous versions. Or maybe I should say that TF700 is the product that Prime should have been from day one (minus the HD screen off course).
I few GHz isn't going to make that much of a difference in real world performance since the screen is higher res. If you overclock the Prime, you can get the same clock speed as the Infinity fairly easily. Right now, must users are reporting a bottleneck in the I/O performance and is causing issues with the performance of the device. I doubt ASUS will address this issue for ICS and try to have it fixed in the Jelly Bean update. They have had the code longer than any other company and shares similar internals with the Nexus 7.

to provide some 'un scientific comparisions' ,, I have ASUS , Win PAD (x64) , TF201 (older model) and the newer Infinity Tf700t .....all 32GB models
for me (without any benchmarking ) ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Tf700 = far far faster and 'cleaner' running in STD MODE ( withupdated firmwares ) to Tf20x models
Plus , I not much of a lover in them silly WA software company ( always been a UNIX geek) ,,,, so am forced to use ASUS windows tablet for work
but am loving the Infnity , with DOCK = max flexability when ROOTED ( not unlocked boot loader)
Hope this helps ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,cheers

Wifi performance or lack of is why I'm selling my Prime and purchased an Infinity. Particularly the weak range. I just ran a speed test several times on the Prime and Infinity outside on my deck. The Prime averages about 6mps. The Infinity averages about 25mps. I'm a happy camper now. As someone else in this thread mentioned, this is what the Prime should have been. EBay auction on my Prime ends tomorrow and l have a bidder, good riddance Prime.

game compatibility issues now that I upgraded to the infinity from the prime

So I recently upgraded to the infinity and I am loving it the speed and screen resolution are awesome! much better then the prime. However, there are a few games I bought while on the prime that seem to have issues on the infinity...I should have seen this seeing as the resolution is better. Anyways the games are:
Dead space (I am really upset about this one, I was just about to beat it on the prime).
Order and Chaos
The Sims FreePlay
Modern Combat 3
Any help you all could provide on this would be helpful. Has anyone gotten these games to work on their infinity?
P.S. the fact that the games are either from gameloft or EA hasn't gone unnoticed (we all know how great they are at updating their games).

Have you tried side-loading these apps to see if the really work or not? Sometimes, an app/game will be listed as incompatible for your device in the Play store, but will actually still work fine if side-loaded...

Yeap, what he said. Plus it may help for you to contact them directly. I did this for a game in the past and they provided me an alternative download that still checked that I was authorized, but not the device was authorized. I got an email a month later as a FYI that the app was now gtg for my device (gnote) so I uninstalled/reinstalled (after TBing the game, just incase) the version from the APP store.
yea I emailed them directly yesterday...we'll see what they say.
Modern Combat 3 plays much better on the Infinity vs Prime. I still get connection losses but not as frequent. I'm actually able to finish a few rounds before a connection loss. Game play seems to be much smoother as well.

I have a similar problem with Real Racing and Need For Speed Shift, which are real losses. Can't find an EA Games email address so I hope they're working on it.

Experiences with Shadowgun THD (and any other 'THD' games) on TF700

Hey guys,
I had this on another forum, but unfortunately that forum has moderators who take their job way too seriously and the topic was moved to a dead section before I could get more than one reply. But that's not important, so...
I am looking for everyone and anyone's experiences with Shadowgun THD on this device. I was digging through the Play Store's reviews and saw a ton of TF201 owners who couldn't even play the game (and a few that recommended it oddly enough), and the one TF700 review I was able to find said he experienced some lag and force closes.
Have any of you guys played the THD version on your Infinity? Experience any issues? Is it worth the (supposedly minor) graphic enhancements?
I have not purchased the normal version, I was holding out buying the game until I got this tablet, but now I am not sure if the increased graphic display will drag down gameplay. The bit of experience I had with a Madfinger game is DeadTrigger. Even though this game is not specifically a Tegra version, I am able to play on the Ultra-High graphics setting with no issues. I will say this, watching zombies fly backwards after being shot with a shotgun on an Android device is damned impressive.
Any experience or thoughts is greatly appreciated. The one reply I received on the aforementioned board was that the user experienced no issues, but I would like to hear from as many people as possible. Thanks!

No problems for me except the game isn't outputting native 1920x1200. It looks to be an upscaled 1280x800 so it will look relatively blurry on the infinity's screen.
Plays fine on mine. Especially fun using one of my PS3 controllers through the Sixaxis app

Yeah the main reason I'm getting this game is because it is one of the few shooters with gamepad support, which is way more snappy than touch emulation.

Kind of related, I just tried Auralux for the first time on my JB TF700 and it laggs like hell, every 5 or 10 seconds it freezes, anyone else with this problem? I thought this was a "famous" game everyone has, but I doubt it if it laggs like this.
I never played Shadowgun THD for too long on the TF700 cause the framerate is way too low. I also experienced a few crashes. The weird thing is, I played this game a lot on my HTC One X, and never had any low framerate or crash issue. I know the screen resolution on the two devices is different, but as someone mentioned before, Shadowgun isn't displayed in 1920*1080 on the TF700.
I had no issue in Dead Trigger. The framerate is much more solid, even if the resolution of the game is higher.
I also played all the free levels of Auralux, and there was no freezes, the game was really enjoyable. However, in Beach Buggy Blitz, it's impossible to max the graphics settings if you want to keep a decent framerate. Once again, no issue on my One X, but unlike Shadowgun, the game is displayed in Full HD on the TF700, where it's "only" 720p on the One X.
Absolutely no problems with shadowgun or NOVA 3... after jelly bean update NOVA 3 flies!
interesting post as i play the regular Shadowgun on my tf700 with no problems. the graphics actually look really good and game play has been solid for me. i actually just emailed the game developers yesterday because i thought i had the THD version and realized it was the regular, i was requesting if they could help with switching, which they agreed to do (buy THD and they will refund the regular). but now im having second thoughts after reading this post. i may buy it, see how it plays and return if not as good or better.
i also play Dead Trigger and the graphics and game play are excellent on it as well.
actually, all my games are playing MUCH better after JB update. this is my second tf700 (the first had accidental damage and was replaced via squaretrade) and actually things on this one seem to run pretty good overall.

Hmm that's weird, any idea what the problem might be for me? I've tried to close all tasks with the stock app manager and closed all tasks in the task bar. I play the game but it's annoying as hell when it freezes every 5 seconds. May it that it's a hardware problem? Auralux seems fun to play...if it would work.
I just tried Dead trigger also, and it also tends to lag...don't think it did before JB update though.

So, to be sure, I restarted Auralux... and yes, there are freezes indeed. Maybe not as often as you describe, but freezes nonetheless.
The only thing that has changed between the last time I played Auralux and now is that I upgraded my tablet with the official JB update. I don't know if it's related, or even why it would be.
Maybe someone with a custom JB rom could try the game (it's free) and tell us if he's also facing such freezing issue.

I have the non-THD version and it is awesome. The reviews you saw where it was failing were probably due to ICS NVIDIA driver bug that effectively made the TFs under ICS unable to play 3d games.

Need for speed Most wanted

Any one has any new on this game?
Works like a charm on my sgs2 and my atrix4g.... the only reason i bought a tablet in the first place
was to play the games, watch movies and surf the web on a bigger screen.... and it seems i cant...
running cleanrom 2.3 and clemsyns latest kernel..
if only the nice apps and games would be worth using on this device...
Maybe theres a hack or something to lower the resolution or lower the graphics? tried with the data files from my sgs2 which is 200mb less..
I also bought this game and only able to play it on my Evo 4G LTE for now. Hoping it will be compatible once the Nexus 10 comes out. EA and Gameloft have both said that they will add support for it with most of their games.
Gaming is also a big reason for me to have a tablet. Sucks that most games aren't compatible with the Infinity just because the Infinity has a high resolution display!!

I don't know why people can't play this game on the tf700 with cleanrom, I played it fine, no lag, stutter, just smooth and responsive. What kind of issue you have with this game?? I can see that people with stock rom may have issue because stock rom is so differnet from device to device, but not when you on Cleanrom and Clemsyn kernel and data2sd(this maybe the issue with you guys?? )
EDIT: Can some one with the Cleanrom+clemsynkernel+data2sd try out this game? Maybe data2sd makes a different???

It's incompatible with Infinity in the Google Play - that's what they were trying to say.
I have One X also with Tegra 3, gonna try and use the APK with internal data from it to try on my Infinity...
It's so laggy on Infinity compared to NEXUS 7.
FPS seems about 20-40, unstable.
With CleanROM2.3 n stock kernel.

Well the game seems to be running in slow motion.... this is cleanrom 2.3 with clemsyns kernel no data2sd as i do not have a class 10 card
Will try with cleanrom 2.4 later today...
can you tell me what size the apk you have working is? as there are 2 different files..
as i understand the htx one x running tegra 3 has the same problems together with a stock nexus 7 hmm? take a look on the other device forums.
What good is a great full hd display when nothing can run on it i would personally never buy a nexus 10 with that extreme resolution...
I believe it is going to have a hard time running anything other than pacman hate too show the device to an apple fan
ps: my screen is beggining to pop out should i get a replacement? it makes wierd noises when pressing on the screen.... sadly i unlocked it so idk if i have a chance to get a replacement

Use at your own risk I take no responsibility if it doesn't work... But... This works great for me.. Love the game now.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1845993
There's a difference between "Not compatible in Play Store" and "Not compatible with the device". That difference lies in developers being too stupid and/or lazy to add the TF700 to the list. Most don't want change the game's textures to run on a higher resolution so they don't bother.
I've yet to find a game that won't work using alternate methods of acquisition.
I'm on stock and NFS runs fine. I do, however, turn off all other random bloatware and crap that runs in the background, set the process limit to 4 and run in performance mode. Who the hell leaves the browser open while playing a Game in full screen, anyway?
Or maybe I'm just not seeing the lag, as all games on my pc run at 20fps these days. (FU companies, I don't have the money to buy a new vidcard every month just because you lot are too lazy to add video-options when you port from the console.)

Hey just to let you know, after the 1.3ghz you tried, try the manual method by installing the apk there in that manual method post, change the value of nfsmw_scaler to 1.5ghz,Run game(it will be slow as earlier).Close it.Install the automatic patch(again).remove the nfsmw_scaler file. Now try running the game,u would have reflections(on the car now) with no difference in frame rate as earlier. It looks great with no performance hit.Your mileage may vary. Also I don't think balanced, performance modes makes a difference in ingame performance. On the contrary,I was playing the game in performance mode, when it showed low battery warning and power saver kicked. It went to balance mode..And I might be mistaken here, but my frame rate increased a bit. Quite a bit..Anyway happy to run this game.
Thx again works flawless with full detail in 1. 5ghz mode. You dont need the nexus7version though the scaler is running smooth here with fulldetails in battery saver mode

Shows incompatible for me too on my Infinity. I've bought it and just playing it on my Evo 4G LTE for now. Hoping it will be compatible sometime around the Nexus 10 release. Tomorrow I'll look in to the link posted, when it isn't 1 in the morning. Lol

Yeah I am very disappointed with the number of apps that aren't available on the TF700. I can't even use the Xbox Smartglass app.

Doesn't work for me, nfs just doesn't start without the scaler text file

NFS could run a little bit faster on my Infinity!
Framerate seems not so high...

Just a note that NFSMW is now supported on the Infinity (stock). It runs pretty well, looks great, and only seems to have minor hiccups.
Seems to run pretty well on my TF700 running CleanROM (was able to purchase in the Play store without issue). I'm running CleanROM with the stock kernel...
