Due to a lack of official cases I was wandering what people here would recommend ? Personally I would need one that also holds a mac keyboard and mouse, but would also be good to share any that you think are a good size, quality and style.

Actually there are two official cases - sleeves actually - one is by Incipio - its a basic sleeve case and works fine - it has a matching color strip to coordinate with your keyboard color ( if that really matters ) - its OK but overpricied. Got mine for $34.95 because they were priced wrong and the store honored the marked price. They are normally 49.95 I believe which is a bit expensive for a nylon case. You can get a real leather case for other devices for that price.
Here's a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjsQFAJF9K4
There is also another very similar sleeve available also from the Microsoft stores, but I don't recall the name.
Both are available from the walk-in Microsoft stores, and I imagine should be available from the online store as well. Don't think any case made for the Surface will hold a Macbook keyboard and mouse though. These cases are made just big enough for the surface and its own keyboard.
K cool, sorry I'm in the uk and so have not seen these, it looks really nice maybe will have to think about a sleeve in a laptop bag. All I need to do is find a uk reseller.
ROCK Texture for the Window Surface. Simple but not shabby case.

That rock one looks like it'll suffer from the same issues as the stock samgung one i had on my xe700, there is nothing clipping it shut so its free to open up and flap about on its own..
I'm currently waiting for this one to arrive from Amazon..
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A1F22JG/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
Will let you know how I get on it with as I'm in the UK as well.
There's a (very weak) magnet in the Touch/Type covers... not enough to hold them closed very well, but it helps. (I think its main purpose is actually to trigger the "is the cover closed?" sensor.) This cover could offer the same.
That said, given the great durability of the Surface's magnesium body and the fact that pretty much everybody will have a cover already, I don't really see the need for this. It amuses my that they provide their own kickstand (after covering the built-in one)... although this one is probably adjustable-angle, which the built-in one is not.
Can it be used with a touch keyboard - If not, that kind of is a deal killer. Price is also a little steep.
I am using a case I bought on Amazon made by Manvex for $15. Its a great case, works great with the keyboard, and has a magnetic clasp. the only bad part is it sits around the screen edge and makes it tough to swipe in. I contacted the company and they are in the process of redesigning it to solve that problem. If they incorporate a similar fitting system to this one, it will be a great case.
Given that most of the bottom of the tablet ()everything except the corners) is uncovered when open, Touch and Type covers should connect with no problem.

There is a rubber band to actually close the flip so it will not open.
The one I mentioned has turned up, works fine..
Certainly worth the £13 lol

Friend of mine ordered the smaller version of the tunebelt and he's ecstatic over it. He's been through a couple too.
My wife loves her tunebelt, not too expensive on amazon either.

Thanks for reply guys!
I was looking at the same model.
AlgorithmX, because you have it, could you comment on quality and usability. I need this thing mostly for sports. It's kind of difficult to judge on picture. Does touch still works through that plastic? How it holds moisture? And how good is velcro?
I posted in the Vibrant and i9000 forums, but I got the larger version of the Tune Belt. It fits with my phone still inside it's TPU case which is what I was looking for. I think the smaller version would be too tight if you want to keep it in your case.
If you have above average sized biceps, you will need the extension as the band is one of the shorter ones I've seen, but luckily the extension is very cheap and works well.
Here are some pics.

No hole for a headphones cord?
And how do I know what is bigger/smaller version? I have only thin silicone on my phone and do not want to take it off every time.

The headphone cord comes out of the flap at the top. I can take a picture later, but it's the same open you slide the phone into, so there's plenty of room.
The model numbers tell you if it's the smaller one or larger one. As you can see in my pics, my phone has a TPU case on it and fits very well inside the armband.
AB82 = Smaller
AB83 = Larger
Finally got my paws on it and used it for a while.
IMHO, this armband is useless for sports. It is like a sponge!
I got bigger version and it fits the phone in the silicon case. However seams inside do not allow plastic to touch the screen, so it's pretty difficult to control phone on the run.

I'm assuming you're talking about the TuneBelt right? If so, it's neoprene. While it may "retain" sweat/moisture, it shouldn't absorb it, neoprene is basically sweat proof. It "retains" some of it temporarily, because the material is breathable (which you definitely want) I have the smaller ab82 that I used with my Touch Pro, and I can tell you from using it at the gym a bunch, if you check it a few hours later, it should be bone dry again as the sweat evaporates out of it, doesn't leave it gross or smelly, etc. Wetsuits are made out of the same material for this sorta reason.
As for the seams on the screen.. ya it looked that way in the pictures above. Still, looks to be the only good solution out currently for phones as big as ours.
This review is for the international version of the Rock Quicksand Case in Gray, being used on the At&t HTC One X.
The holes are a little misaligned, but it has no impact on usage or performance.
The case has a nice, soft feel to it. I would say it is somewhere between felt and super fine sand paper (it isn't going to scratch you).
It is a very thin case and doesn't add much to the overall bulk of the phone.
On the camera there is a lip to protect it from scratches when it is set down.
There is a bit of a lip over the front of the screen, but I couldn't tell you which would hit the ground first first, as it's pretty level with the raise due to my screen protector.
The cutouts look nice, but one thing to keep in mind is that neither the top nor bottom are covered. I would say that the lip from the corners would take most of the impact if it is dropped on its head though.
Overall,
This is the best case I have ever had. The case has a great feel and look, and doesn't add too much bulk, while protecting it from nicks due to being dropped.
Hope that helps!

I just got the black one (http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Black-Composite-Quicksand-Poly-carbonate/dp/B0089DRQL6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350374497&sr=8-1&keywords=rock+quicksand+one+x) today and it's awesome! Very very thin, and fits quite snugly. The back is protected very well against scratches. This definitely includes the camera lens, which is one of my main concerns.
The screen and most of the front is not protected very much at all. I certainly wouldn't set my phone facing down on a table. On the other hand, that means that swiping from side to side is great. I remember there was no way to swipe between Google Chrome tabs with my old jelly case. The slightly rough material on the back is great for gripping the phone, and it doesn't pick up lint like the jelly cases do.
Thanks alot for your review!
Also appreciate the review - looks pretty good. Thanks for taking the plunge with an International case on an AT&T variant. I really don't understand why manufacturer's aren't making more AT&T specific cases still.
Have you used any USB cables other than the stock HTC one with this case? I have a few different USB cables and am afraid they may not all fit with the case on. Any pictures you can provide with the case on and cable in would be great.
A case like this would never work for me. 100% of the time I drop my phone, it lands screen down. :crying:

I've used 3 USB cables other than stock and they all work without any hassle. The cutout for the microUSB is rather large (which can be seen in the 1st and 2nd pictures), and unless your using some monster USB cable (I haven't seen one before) it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Me too! that's why I use a screen protector (only cost like $10 for a decent one on amazon). I've dropped it on asphalt face down from waist high and nothing happened.
I've had this case since last Friday and it's awesome. It's extremely light, thin, and has a fantastic texture that gives it a great grippy-ness.
I've only had my N4 since December, but have accumulated a few random accessories along the way...well not as much as some folks here :silly:. This is mainly going to be a small collection of photos I took of the pouch made by a nice artisan who is also on Etsy by the name of Begoos and can make custom size cases in various materials to fit what you want. (I won't link to her, but if this interests you, she can easily be found if you search for "Nexus 4" on Etsy). I found out recently this pouch was mentioned in the thread about pouches that fit the bumper so I think some of you know about it or have it or even posted a review of it. I know everyone doesn't use pouches, but I was just so impressed with this pouch and the bumper after waiting for like two months for it to come back in stock at the US Play Store.

This hand-made pouch has a magnetic type closure/flap, which I really like over the drawstring type. This pouch's centered flap position and position of the N4's headphone jack mesh pretty well in usage. Even a large headphone adapter can fit without any conflict from the flap.
This is now closed:
A naked N4 fits very well, and the "cushion" material inside makes it kind of like a small amount of padding. So, I think it is pretty decent for a small amount of protection (well, I can only assume...).
A bumper-equipped N4 slides in and out of the pouch without any hassle. And fits inside like it was made for it.
All I remember telling her through Etsy was the bumper dimensions so I believe it was made slightly wider than her usual N4 sized pouch. It took about two weeks from her in Latvia to me in the US (back in early January), but the wait was well worth it! Personally, this is definitely just as premium feeling and a "feel good" buy as the LG Bumper IMHO. Even if you don't plan on using this daily, it's one of those nice to have items if you plan on keeping your N4 for a long time like me. I hope this was helpful.

Thanks! The pouch looks nice. I'm thinking of getting one
Very impressed with the OP's collection!
I also bought a case from Linda with a small logo drawn . Very quick turnaround, and very personalised purchasing experience. Shipping took 2 weeks to Australia. Case is well constructed as described by OP, and she has a variety of fabrics and colours available to personalise your case. Here's a pic of mine. Loving my N4 and case to bits!
I have to say she did a SPECTACULAR job with your custom N7 logo sleeve! :highfive: GJ Linda!
Wow, very nice looking sleeve. I had not really considered one until seeing your pictures. Seeing as how I am trying to live without a screen protector, this may be a wise investment.
edit: I just messaged asking if she could do a custom order for me: one with a pocket on the back for credit cards/etc., similar to the ones she has on some of the nexus 7/iPad mini sleeves. It would be great to be able to leave the wallet behind some nights.
I'm liking the big lebowski and OP's sleeve

Hi,
here's a short review of the Noreve Tradition B Case for the Note 8. It's my first review, so don't judge too hard .
I've bought the Noreve case at it is genuine leather, offers two pockets for business cards / credit cards and a larger pocket for document(s).
It's a bit on the expensive side, I paid 79.90 Euro as I wanted the"Sable Vintage" Leather instead of the standard black Perpetuelle which costs 69.90 Euro.
Due to this the case was delivered three weeks after ordering (the standard version was on stock).
It came with a nice box containing the case packaged in a red bag:

}
The case itself was looking beautiful, with a nice smell of leather:
The inside is made of leather as well with the mentioned pockets on the cover:
The Note 8 fits in nicely, the case holds it very firmly. All ports and buttons are accessible, even the SIM slot and the SD Card:
On the back you can see the hole for the camera and a small stand to stand up the device in landscape position:
The stand is locked with a small button so it won't open by accident:
It stands a lot more upright than with Samsung's book cover:
The only thing I am missing is a holder for a larger S-Pen as I prefer it over the small integrated one. I got around it by attaching it to the leather hinge on the side:
Not sure how stable this is on the long run but it works for now.
Conclusion
I am very happy with this case,it's well worth the money in my opinion. It's perfectly made, the leather is of very good quality. It adds a bit of weight to the device though (about 230g), but I can live with that. One thing to mention is that it does not powers off the note when closing it, I take this as a pro as there are discussions whether the magnets can harm the S-Pen accuracy, but it's worth noting.
I purchased the same exact Sable Vintage case. Yes it is expensive but I wanted to add some class to my tablet (which I feel it does). I am very satisfied with this purchase. I love the smell and feel of it. It is of excellent quality and I feel it will last as long as my tablet does (which I plan on using for a long time without upgrading to the latest and greatest based on the price of this case alone, lol). I get many head turns and questions about the case and if I can get them one. But I don't really respond because most people have an adverse reaction to the price of it. But I feel that it adds value to the tablet. So much so that I purchased a Noreve case for my wife's Note 10.1 (however for some reason hers does not fit as nicely as the Note 8 does)
Nice, love real leather.
On a side note, where did you get that larger stylus?
That's the Samsung Bluetooth S-Pen. It was on sale at Amazon and I was looking for a bigger pen anyway. It's really good for writing and the bluetoth works ok - though it looks a bit dumb if you really use it to make phone calls. But still better than holding the Note to your ear...

Thanks will look into this
Since nobody is pushing product into our "protection that doesn't disable significant device features" space, here's a freebie for ya. When making skins, how about an option to have a nice cutout for the wireless modules to to chatter through? This way we can have a majority of the back protected (and less slippery/fingerprinty) AND use our gimmicky, ultra-low-quality, mostly garbage but still rather expensive snap-on modules?
For my own use, I took a PhantomSkinz screen protector and hacked about 1/6th of it off with a box cutter...but surely a pro could make something more elegant and have something worth selling?
Disclaimer: In case you need a little guidance...I recommend cutting the film BEFORE installation. Do not take a razor blade to the back of your phone. This is why you can't have nice things.

You so funny guy.
I just gave up and put a case on it.
I only used the 360 a couple times any way....
Some of us (me included) had no issues using the 360 camera with either the dbrand or Sopiguard skins. Can't say that'll hold true for future mods.
I ended up just tracing the 360 camera and taking an exacto knife to it.
Looks pretty dumb.
I have a sopiguard one and it was fine at first with the 360 camera. Now it only works about 25% of the time, without it me having to fidget with it to recognize.
That's no worst than the Tudia case with cutouts specifically for the 360 camera mod...
I made a small incision to my body skin and now have the 360 camera working. I'll probably buy a few more to experiment but the wireless data transfer looks like it happens between the two pins so you might not need such a large hole.
I think they should be removable because cutting the lines will ruin that sweet sweet uniform look. Of course it's not possible on those sticker protectors but protective cases could be different thing. Some kind of locking mechanism to that extra piece would rise the price of the case yes, but if you're buying this phone and want to use those accessories - still wanting the protection - you'd be ready to pay from it. Maybe Essential itself could take on this "problem".

The mechanism could just be the pins themselves. A removable back piece that connects directly to those pins would be clutch. I think that's a really great idea.

It's from Skinomi and part of the kit that has the screen protector and body protectors. It definitely helps in terms of grip.
