Hi all,
I just got cyanogenmod 10 working on my Galaxy S3 SGH-I747 on Bell Canada, I'm presently running the M2 version, although yesterday's nightly build also ran fine and shared the exact same issue, which is that I have no media sound. I do have call sound (ring plus voice) and the person at the other end can hear me. However, youtube videos, music, etc. does not work on the phone's speaker nor on a stereo bluetooth headset. I suspect this means that voice and media sound are somehow distinct in the software (different drivers?) and the media drivers are missing/screwed up. I've searched several forums and haven't found quite the same issue occurring in any other phones on CM, much less on this phone. Please note that the SGH-I747 is the Canada/ATT version which is distinct from the international version of this phone.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, please let me know if I can provide any other useful information. I'd have posted this in the section of this forum specific to this phone, but it seems I don't have access.
Thanks,
Cory

Greetings all, first time post / long time watcher. Love the forums, been on Android since the very first G1 and these forums have been fantastic over the years.
I have Cyanogenmod 3.4.0 June 7th nightly and have been having this same issue since the first. Headphones work great for music, movies, etc... Even can hear emulated DTMF tones just fine, however when I get into a call there is no far end audio coming through, pretty weird. If i unplug the headset, i can hear just fine from the phone speaker. It is only when the headset is plugged in... What gives? Just wanted to make sure that someone was aware and that there is a bug worth fixing. I noticed in the nightly thread (which i am not authorized to post to yet) that others have complained about this as well. Wish I could collaborate there, but alas I cannot so here I sit on Q&A.
Outside of that, GPS issue is a bother. Must disable "Wi-Fi & mobile network location" in order to sync up with a GPS. Doing this kills the location features which is a super downer, so I find myself toggling this on and off all the time just depending on what I need to do.
I am able and willing to provide technical feedback in the form of logs, images and whatever is needed to help resolve. Just let me know what I can do. Thanks a bunch!
Robert

At least you have that. Nothing fixes mine. Won't even see one bird. ..
Having the same problem with GPS
ogonzoo,
I'm having the same problem with GPS. So far, I haven't been able to get it to work except by toggling off the Wifi/Mobile Network location. I did run across a post mentioning a possible fix involving a Touchwiz ROM, but I'm not sure I understood.
I found this other thread seeming to explain the procedure for actually implementing that fix, but I don't know how to apply it to the Cyanogenmod Nightly ROM (assuming that's even possible). Hopefully someone else here will.
EDIT:
Apparently, there's a pretty extensive discussion of this problem in the thread where I read invisiblek's post (first link above), starting at about page 31. It seems to be an acknowledged bug and the Cyanogenmod devs are supposed to address it in a forthcoming build.
This happens only on outgoing calls on bluetooth (car audio): I can hear the person on other side talking, but that person cannot hear me. I switchover to handset or speakerphone and switch back to bluetooth, and the problem goes away. Both parties can hear each other and call proceeds without a problem.
This problem does not occur on incoming calls at all. I pick up using the button on car audio and the conversation happens without an issue.
The exact same issue occurs on all the builds I have tried: CM10.1 (both stable and nightly), Slimrom 4.2, Slimrom 4.3 nightly, Aditya's CM11 (tried at least 3 builds, currently running his build 12).
I did not see any mention of this by anybody else. Am I alone in facing this issue?
I have used both an android phone and a windows phone earlier on this car audio and this issue did not show up on those.
Thanks, folks. I would really love to fix this and continue to use this wonderful phone for a few more years!
It gets crazier
I just got my hands on a Sprint Galaxy Nexus (toroplus):
Weird: This exact issue (bluetooth outgoing call does not grab my side of the conversation until I switch the call to speaker/handset and back to bluetooth) happens on all the builds of CM10.2, CM11 and Slimkat.
Weirder: This DOES NOT happen on 4.3 stock rom (JWR67B) version of the software. I am unable to try and load stock rom to NS4G, so haven't tried this trick with that.
Weirdest: Now that I have isolated the problem to the CM (or its derivates in slim version), how is it even POSSIBLE that I am the only one experiencing this? I cannot find any mention of this issue anywhere in the net. Unfortunately, both my bluetooth receivers are the exact same model: pioneer DEH-4500BT. However, the fact that Galaxy nexus stock rom (and earlier phones, like Samsung Prevail or Lumia 521) work flawlessly deflects any suspicition on the DEH-4500BT's part.
Basically I just purchased this LG G2 (D801) and out of the box I noticed the audio wasn't in sync for any games I have (I'm using worms as my test) and netflix while the youtube app is fine. Any of the games I've tested the audio is out of sync and I have quite a few from the humble bundles.
I rooted my phone yesterday thanks to one of the senior members who posted instructions for rooting 4.4.2 (since my phone came updated). I ended up installing the latest stable Cyanogenmod which is 10.2 (4.3). The audio issues still persist. I also have a friend with a sprint version of the phone and he also has this audio issue now - his phone updated to 4.4.2 yesterday, I don't know what it was prior. He is not rooted and had no desire to root but now since Sprint pushed out this update he is also looking for a solution.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or have a possible solution to this issue?
Thanks!
I guess more to add:
My friend got back to me and his wife has a G2 that is on 4.2.2 still (which is what he came from) and she also has this audio sync issue. He says his streaming Plex videos are fine even up to 1080p while other applications (like netflix or games) are out of sync.
I have the same issue. Netflix sound lags a fraction of a second so the lips do not match the sound I hear from the speaker. It's not a speed issue - my other phone ZTE Awe works fine with Netflix streaming over the same WiFi network with the same speeds. My phone is the ATT model (D800).
Dear all!
Quick question for you guys.
I had my Galaxy S7 for nearly 2 years but only recently (past few weeks) it started making a very annoying popping/crackling sound when playing any sorts of media content both streamed or download. I did some research about this and unfortunately I haven't been able to find an answer. Some people mentioned an ARC app or Skype to be the culprit. Some others even say that it's the WiFi during standby that creates the problem. I honestly tried everything including factory reset, whole system reinstallation, safe mode etc but nothing works, the annoying popping sound still happens whenever I watch or listen to something and it can be heard from the speaker and wired earphones.
Anybody who's got any knowledge or has experienced the same problem could you please share your views/experiences as this is driving me mad?
Thank you in advance!
PS it doesn't seem to happen during phone calls...yet! At the moment running latest PHN firmware. All stock. Model G930F
i had same problem but only in android 6.x, on nougat all is fine
same probleme here i have stock nougat rom
Thanks for your feedback guys...I'm assuming it's the firmware's problem. I guess I'll wait for Oreo and see whether it gets fixed
Hey everyone,
So for a while now when I am on a hands-free call in Android Auto in either of my Chevy vehicles (a 2019 Trax and a 2020 Equinox), the other person's voice will make like a stuttering sound for 2-3 seconds, and then jump back to normal. I ended up missing what they said though and it seems to happen almost every 5 minutes or more. I also noticed that it happens once in a while when I am at home talking just on speakerphone or regular.
I thought it was the Bluetooth possibly at first from some things I found while Googling, but everything seemed to reference the music audio stuttering, not the phone audio for phone calls. The only thing I can think of is it has to do with the network (T-Mobile), but it shows that I have a full 5G signal when it is happening, or at least 4G. I am running on the latest update, and my A71 5G was bought unlocked new from Best Buy (not tied to any specific network).
Any ideas? It is starting to make trying to have a phone conversation impossible, and I am in the car a lot for work so it is making it hard to keep up-to-date with family and work stuff. Thanks in advance for any ideas / help / suggestions!
