Help maintain Mecha Centre! - Thunderbolt General

The decision's been made, I'm opening up Mecha Centre for people who actually own thunderbolts to maintain and contribute to.
Just shoot me a PM with your gmail username and you'll be added to the sites.Google.com collaborators list! Well not just anyone can join up, but I'm pretty liberal with who can and cannot be a collaborator, if you have a good rep here on XDA, you're good!
And sp.pacman (I know that name is off a bit..) if you're out there watching like I think you are, contact me and you're in, XDA is separate from MC, you aren't unwelcome.

And just to be clear, there won't be like a system or anything, do what you want to do and if you end up doing nothing, that's fine too.

[ics2g2x] [occupy nvidia]how you can help!

We all want to help get ics to our g2x asap, but most of us aren't developers.
We can, however, help get our developers what they need.
Right now, nvidia is the bottleneck.
i have to believe that the most effective way of getting the open access we want (ala Texas instruments and omap) is to make them aware of just how much demand there is for it.
In other words, show them just how much easier their life could be if they open sourced the drivers.
Everyone should call nvidia and tell them exactly what we want
If they have to deal with 20 calls a day re this issue, they might take it seriously.
It worked with htc and Sony re locked bootloaders.....
Tweet this (or something like it...but please use the hash tags!)
Help #boycottNvidia for the Lack of support for developers for their @NVIDIATegra devices such as the #g2x. #WENEEDSOURCE #android #ics
Call nvidia at 408 486 2000 and ask for developer relations.
--or email then at http://developer.nvidia.com/contact --
Then just politely make them aware of our desire to have the drivers open sourced. Make them aware of ti's policy, and kindly let them know that how helpful nvidia is with this well help determine of we ever buy or recommend their products again.
TRY TO DO THIS ONCE/DAY!

would we get charged calling from canada? xD
I think more ppl would contact them if we had an email to the developer relations dept. Get us that & everyone could send an email for it
Done! and the guy said i wasnt the first and they were looking into it!!!!!
When you call, ask them to do the same for the Gtablet.
I'm a scorned owner of one and fear greatly this will happen again with the G2X.
I'm willing to send a few emails

...here you go!
We tried this with HTC on the cdma hero not too long ago. To no avail mind you. Hopefully nVidia is different but if we're going to reach out to someone we should reach out to LG and tell them this is the last LG product we'll ever buy. Its true for me at least.

Try this site site instead
Your best bet is a site dedicated to things like that, such as (assuming you will pay $): https://www.odesk.com/. We have a certain level of restrain and dignity on xda-devs, no "hey you, feed me, now, k-thx" type posts allowed or tolerated.

[Monthly Holiday] Developer's Day

Welcome, community, to the XDA Developer's Day thread. We receive endless support from the developers. They deal with our bug submissions, questions, comments, complaints, and whining on a daily basis. What can we possibly do to give back?!
________________
When:
The first of every month.
What Can I Do?
Consider Rom, Application, Kernel, Theme, Tweak, and other developers in your decision:
Pick a developer who has influenced your life in some way this month and donate a few dollars! And come next month, pick another developer. A rotation, of sorts. Every donation counts, and is cherished.
Update your signature to reflect your support for developers and for the mass recognition of the holiday!
Credit to DHO for the original thread idea.
I REALLY don't think this will be necessary...
But just in case: Snagging post #2 as well.
Oh, and this has taken off fairly well on Rootzwiki.
I hope it does here as well.
This is a really awesome idea
+1
+1 as well this is a pretty cool idea. Developers really deserve supportfrom the community. One of let's them know that what they are doing is not in vain. Two some monitary support is always a good incentive to keep good hard core developers at the top of their game, which is the long run is good for everyone. Now I know a lot of of developers do it just because it is their personal hobby and the enjoy it. But some cummunity support and graditude never hurts.
Done, great idea.
Edit: And to the jerk who rated this thread with 1 star, you know who you are and you should be ashamed. Truly ashamed...
done
done deal .as stated before great idea.

Facebook native for andriod

Perhaps most of you know this all ready. And honestly with Facebook you are the product cause your not a customer. However because I along with others have family on Facebook we are in a bind. Well Facebook went native and it finally works well with android. So for the others that have resisted being a user. Maybe its time to give them one more shot?

so far im very impressed with 2.0
The experience is definitely improved with the latest version.
Yup, much better.
Also, the argument that if you're not paying something "you're the product" is.... well I'll just say "dramatic." Yes you're being advertised to, and maybe your information is being used for advertising purposes, but.... most normal people don't give a crap, and it certainly doesn't hurt you.
It would be nice to actually be able to hold down on an image ave save !!

I couldn't agree with you more about it hurting anyone.
Its not dramatics' its a simple fact. And that's OK that they sell my info to make money so I can have a free social media outlet.
I Apologize if this thread seems derogatory to Facebook. They seem to had missed the mark with not taking care of its "product". A vast amount of android users became disheartened of the HTML code. I wrote emails to fb explained how it seemed they were ignoring the android user.
I digress... the point of this thread was to welcome back and perhaps persuade old users to "give them one more shot" I would have never thought I'd give fb 5stars for the app! all my cool friends are on Google + and my sheep ios family are on fb.
My cool friends are all you guys on XDA!

Thanks for pointing that out. Just noticed. Good news though. FB also released SDK files so I'm sure we will have some tweaks soon.

It seems good only because the previous version sucked so hard.
We have low expectations for FB, and they finally exceeded them.

Lol. There was no better way to accessing FB than the application. Idk how you handled that if you didint bother with the app . I've dealt with that for years, but it is much better now! Not just better, but good in itself.

I usually just used the browser and the mobile site or the Friendcaster app. The mobile FB site looked almost the same as the old app and Friendcaster works really well on a tablet. I'll definitely check out the new update though. It has to be better than before.

Even a dollar helps guys. So far I'm beginning decompiling the messaging app to see if there are any coding for the difference between iOS device texting and Android/etc. Also think theirs a way to make the Android masked as a iPhone.

What do you want donations for dude? You've done nothing here but talk about porting some app. The key work being TALK. Work on the port if you want. Post it here. I'm sure if others appreciate it they will donate. Otherwise I would just stick to XDA being about development. Not a bank account. There's no "development" going on here as it stands. Or we might have a different understanding of the word development then I guess?
