i flashed teh latest version of the blackbean rom yesterday (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954276)
and if my one s falls asleep it stops tethering, if i wake it again its working again.
is that a cm10 problem or did i do sth wrong?
I'm pretty sure its because the ROM flashes a new radio. Specifically the 1.08ts which turns off the data when the screen is off. Its to help prevent people from tethering. There is an apk on the play store that you can use to prevent this, however I can't for the life of me think of the name or you can flash one of the zjps on the blackbean forum that let's you change radios.

There are also radio zips in the CM10 thread to change it back...need to flash after each Rom flash

can't find it, maybe anyone knows the name? otherwise i gotta flash some other rom, but this one's pretty smooth so i would really like to stick to it!
Hey guys sorry I can't find the name. It was in one of these forums but as I'm sure you know searching them is easier said then done. Try the modified radio zips they are in the cm10 forum. Either in the general cm10 discussion or the development one. If you get really desperate just check the 'screen always on' box in setting under developer options.

If you're not having any problems then there's no need to change your radio, unless you're just wanting to experiment. 26.06.06.30_M works very well with CM7 if that's what you're using now.
26.03.02.26 is what it is on. Is mine just a standard one? Should I put the other on

If you do wish to change the radio and Ril combination then check out this thread that I provided a link for. There is a lot of good information in it and you can grab the files from there. Just check MD5 sums before flashing.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106324
Edit: I see Henrybravo caught that you are using a very old radio. Follow his suggestions and change the radio out using the radio thread files and instructions which are posted there.

Now that I see your radio version, I'm going to change my tune slightly. Your radio version is an older downgraded version leftover from the rooting process. It came with the first wave of DesireHD phones at the end of last year but never came with the Inspire (although it still works). I'd suggest putting 26.06.06.30 on your phone. It's the latest stock radio and works well with most ROMs. As Wolf_2 said, check out the radio forum.

I swear, this is the only "flaw" with the hack kit, and it's not the hack kits or Attn1's fault, and it's not really a flaw, more like an unfortunate side-effect for noobs.
This problem comes up so often for new people who root this phone.
They think they're done when they get to the end of the hack kit process, and then, low and behold, we get these threads saying "my signal/wifi sux," and when the baseband version comes to light, it's...you guessed it... 02.26
Most people figure out they have to flash a working rom, but enough people don't, to where these threads are a regular recurrence.

Sure.
Are you certain the file is named PD98IMG.zip?
Are you sure the file is located in the root of your SD card?

Ok that's a good start, you know what you want to do and what results you want to get. I'm assuming however that you don't know how to do that. I can also see you don't like to search. I'll make this easy for you, well actually Tribalartgod made it easy for you. Go to the development thread. You'll see a radio thread. Click it. Read everything in the OP. Go.
Here's the link so I don't hear, you don't have to be a jerk or anyone else want to offer help. I've done more then I should have and more then some other users would.
I offer only this advice, be careful when flashing radios. If you download a corrupt file, I can promise you nothing awesome will happen. Always check the md5 number when flashing radios.
Thank you very much for the help and direction. I understand the criticism, but I didn't understand if radios and kernels had to be congruous. I didn't want to end up with a brick. would you recommend any tool to check md5checksum from android or windows.

The ones to use are ES File Explorer and Astro File Manager. Both are available on the Android Market.

Kernels and radios have no connection in terms of concurrency. Radios and RILs on the other hand are much different. They, if you read, come in pairs and should be matched together for best results. Since you're using an AOSP ROM, there has been discussion about the RIL not having to match the radio for AOSP ROMs, I still do it out of good practice.
Like stated, ESfile explorer, astro manager, or root explorer. While I don't use the first two, I would imagine the process is the same..long press the zip and view the properties or details. As an alternative, if you want to go ext4, ext4 recovery has the check md5 function built into its recovery.
I keep on getting this prompt saying I need to update my software, it'll just take a few minutes, etc. I rooted my phone just recently and want to make sure that if I update I won't lose my root privileges.
The reason I'd like to update us I'd like top see if it will fix the problem with the WiFi connection, I've completely lousy the ability top connect to WiFi.
Does anyone have any info in these issues?
Thanks

Yes, you will lose your root. You can either use ota rootkeeper from the play store or my recommendation would be to just flash a ROM. CleanROM to be specific. It's based off the latest OTA. Flash that and the latest radio and you'll be golden. Best ROM available.

If you install and activate OTARootkeeper, it will preserve your root. It's pretty much idiot-proof.
+1 for OTARootKeeper. It worked for me when my phone updated from 1.73 to 1.85.

It should be noted that OTA Rootkeeper is verified to work with the 1.85 OTA, but its not a sure thing for every OTA. Its possible that future OTA's may still break root, even with Rootkeeper. When future updates come out, safest to see if OTA Rootkeeper works for others before attempting yourself, unless you feel like being brave (I guess somebody has to be the guinea pig). Or to install the update by some other means, as they are often posted here in pre-rooted form and installable via recovery.
I think I'll do both. The only thing is, everybody talks about flashing a Rom as if I should know what that is, or how to do it. Sadly, I don't have the slightest clue. Does anyone have a link to a step by step instruction on how to do it?

There are such things, but if you're that clueless, you should do some reading and researching about the general subject before doing anything with your phone. Don't do anything that a) you don't fully understands and b) don't know how to undo.

The reason why everybody talks like you should know what a ROM is is because this is xda-developers. This site is geared directly towards developers and users who root and flash ROMs and mods. It is pretty much understood that if you are on this site, you should at the very least know what a ROM is. There are other, more general Android sites out there that are for the average user but this is not one of those sites.
That said, if you check out the development section, you will see a whole bunch of threads for various ROMs and mods, I suggest checking them out and you will see what benefits they provide and how their experiences differ from the stock one. Flashing a ROM is a lot easier than you would think, and the benefits are endless. Everything you need to know about how to do it can be found here on xda, just look around a bit and you will find all the info you need. Good luck!
Thank you for the help and direction.

This is CM10. I don't want to explain it again but basically I will be merging my ColdBlooded Tweaks soon. I compiled from source and then made some modifications so some more things worked. Also, I am available to help people and fix issues where as the other cm10 is not as they are very VERY busy doing great work on other things/roms! Just try the rom and you will find out or read in the thread. I can't go very deep into now because I am busy doing many things but I'm sure you will figure it out.
nice work
Nice Work BiteBlaze.
I'm using your ROM as my daily driver and is awesome.
Was a little difficult to me to at the first because the phone don't boot, just hang out on the X boot image. I flash with TWRP first, and I think I didn't do full wipe out, don't remember.
After flashing the boot.img that come with the zip all went well
Some bugs that you maybe already know:
the incoming notification appear some glitch;
Also my battery life is short, 6 hours for the first boot. In "battery usage" I didn't notice any strange behaviour, my screen is consuming most of the time 60%. Maybe I have to calibrate my battery.
But in resume all works well.
Love Google Now Cards
Thanks

Is it ever possible that we can receive official support from the CM team once this is no longer alpha/beta (almost everything works)? What our devs do here is completely amazing and mind boggling, but it would always be more concrete if we get official support. I always wondered why we do not have CM support when our device is tied in first place with the One X (over GSiii!). Thanks for the amazing hard work getting this going!

I recently flashed to Vincom's SUPERLITE CM10 JB4.1.2 RoM | V8.0.
Ive gotten things up and running pretty well, but there is one major issue I seem to be having. My phone is not consistently able to connect to data on AT&T. I am frequently losing my data connections in locations where I have always had them in the past.
I searched around on his developer thread but didnt see an answer. I saw a reference to APNs for AT&T, but his note says these should now be included in the ROM I flashed, so Im not sure if I am missing something.
Anyone know if this is a common problem or how I can troubleshoot it and get up and running again?
Thanks.

I see baseband version i727UCLI3.
Access Point name was was set to ATT wap, cingular. I switched it to ATT LTE (pta)...should this fix it? Any idea why this would have happened? Will I need to keep checking this or was it just something from the ROM flash?

reflashing radio is the simplest things todo on our phones, no harm will come of it and sometimes beneficial as cwm/twrp wiping and flashing roms dont touch that parition
