Is it just me or is this the case? I've lost 17% from chrome alone in only 4 hours. I didn't even open it.
Sigh, back to Dolphin HD...

rouge app? Unless chrome is continuously syncing for 4 hours non stop which is hard to believe.
The screen was off almost the entire time. I'm at work. I mean it killed 17% in the background entirely.

I don't know. But it's disappointing.. Less than 15 minutes of screen time and I'm at 75% just from chrome, IN THE BACKGROUND.
Lame.

I had this problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome a couple days ago, and it just came back this morning. Responsible for 38% of battery drain after 2.5 hours on battery, but the battery is also still at 100%, so it's not quite as severe as yours.
According to Badass Battery Stats, Chrome's usage is because of the "gyroscope".
Looking under Developer tools, there's an option called "Enable Tilt Scrolling", and it's checked. Maybe this is, for some reason, running in the background?
I've unchecked it and rebooted. After I recharge my battery to green again, I'll unplug it and see if I get the same effect. I'm guessing this will solve it, though. Might be worth a shot while you wait for me to report back.
I'm at work so I'll be waiting on the results!
Thanks much!

Yeah, it's chrome, I never opened the app yesterday and it used 10% of my battery. Today it's been fine though...
A little over an hour after reboot and no battery usage by Chrome, so we look good so far.
I'd consider this to be resolved unless I return to this thread and say otherwise. :good:

Hello all,
So I'm a noob when it comes to rooting, but I got through it fairly simply on my first go. All I've really done since is disable the annoying wifi available notification in the pull down bar. I've noticed however, that the phone has been getting pretty hot since then. Not sure if this is the right place to post, but any help would be appreciated.
Don't understand why just rooting would do that myself. Are you charging it when it gets hot? I know my old bionic would get wicked hot if i was tethering off of it and charging it. But just charging it along only slightly. It was using massive amounts oof battery, like tethering, while charging that induced the heat.
On the other hand though I still tether 5 or 6 people at a time on my S3 a night while charging and my phone barely gets warm. Pushing almost a gig of data a night. Maybe your battery is getting fried? What apps are you using most when it gets hot?

I have the same issue but mine was getting hot when it was stock. It only gets hot when downloading a lot.

Was it searching for a signal? If you click on battery under settings then look at the graph....is there a lot of red?
That may have been it. I restarted the phone after bad let it charge that night. Today it hasn't happened to me yet. I'll keep this updated though.

Let me take a wild-arse guess: you're running the VRLHD radio? If so: known problem - it's always hot.
How do I find out?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Settings > About phone > Baseband version. FWIW IDK how well known of a problem this is. I'm running the VRLHD radio and my phone is never hot. Asked a few others who frequent d2vzw discussion and they were also unfamiliar. If you want to know for sure, grab a different radio from invisiblek's modem thread and try that.

Just to add my 0.02. My phone always got super hot on the HD modem, if I switched back to any of the others it was fine and its fine now that it is on HE. It didn't matter is I was using WiFi or not it was just always super hot on HD.

and i cant import sim contacts lol maybe its just a bug but dont pull my arm and leg i tried searching around to find my answer and i couldnt fine it so be nice to me thanks :good:
by saying "close to one V" are you talking about sense stock ROM?
Yep stock scene 4 I think I know there's one I tried it out but too buggy and battery sucks lol
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda app-developers app
When you say too buggy could you specifically define it in a way? Battery issues could be addressed but we need to know what's buggy for you so we could recommend a ROM suited for you.
ahhhhh i rememeber why
now im using virtuous infinity and i stopped using it cause of no wifi calling and market force closes sometimes but everything else its cool

Thanks for paying attention to what the OP asked and contributing meaningful information to this thread.
Now can someone on JB who used to get the crash post their experience? This is one of the things that is keeping me on ICS.

Update... I updated to viper jellybean so I could achieve s-off... Did that successfully, received the maps update today and navigated this afternoon without crashing. Not sure what caused the success, but prior it would crash on me.

I had been having ridiculously high battery usage from maps even without using it, as GSAm battery monitor had been showing (Must have app, btw). Now with the update, apparently this has been fixed. My phone seems to last much longer and maps uses about 1% of battery when it used about 40%.

Tried Gsam not quite sure what it does that Android already have does not. In fact, it claimed that my screen has not consumed any power in the past few hours, but the number one power drained was by my browser. Go figure.
Re: maps got an update
Finally rooted and installed ViperXL last weekend. Google Nav crashed within 30 seconds of starting. Tried it 5-6 more times since with the same results. Maps was updated to latest version. Still having the crashing, but now crashes within 10 seconds of starting. Interestingly, the voice guidance still continues to give directions after Maps has crashed.
Whenever I type fast the screen registers touches that I don't do or small swipes. I originally thy thought it was my fault but now I'm noticing it more often.
Does anyone else have this issue? Maybe its a kernel issue or hardware? Using PA with Franco kernel
Sent from my One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Here you can see when I'm taping each side alternatively it registers another touch further in the middle, doesn't always happen but enough to be annoying.
OK its pretty hard to see, try yourself using screen touch test

I thought I was the only one with this issue. I was gonna reap my fingers off. Wow.
Anyways, I heard CM is issuing a fix coz it has to do with the kernel.
So let's hope there's a fix.

i've noticed this as well - can't wait for a fix i hate having to type slow -.-
omg this is one of the BIGGEST issues i'm having with the phone
when i type fast it sometimes registers a swipe left or down which will either delete the last word (Swiftkey) or make the keyboard disappear
its SOOO annoying...
i really hope this is a software issue that can be addressed
i'm coming from the Nexus 5 which was super solid and accurate for typing
i even tried disabling all screen gestures as per the other OPO threads but there isnt any difference
Same here, but for me some times the app i am typing on gets minimized. Does this happen to anyone else?

Personally I've never had that but I was only using cm11s for 1 day before I moved to Paranoid android. Maybe that's a ROM issue? I've heard of someone else having the same issue as you though
Sent from my One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I installed SwiftKey keyboard and see if it helped that issue. Sorry to inform, not by much if at all. Coming from a nexus 5 too and I thought I just wasn't adjusted to the screen size but it is happening regularly enough to make me suspicious.
this issue is becoming a showstopper for me
its like...70% accuracy or less
either it will have a phantom swipe to left or down for me, which will either delete the last word or make my keyboard disappear
i didnt have any of these issues with my N5. I have my N5 right beside me too and i type the exact same speed and its 100% accurate
something is totally off with the OPO touchscreen and i REALLY hope its a software related issue..

SwiftKey only helps the issue because it is better than Google keyboard at correcting errors when you type. The screen still had the same issue.
Surely hope this is a kernel driver issue that can be fixed. It has been noted by many people and apparently they are working on it or it has been at least acknowledged. I would be surprised if they we would let these phones go out faulty like this without knowing there was a resolution that could be reached....
Got my OPO in the mail on its way. Yet another thing to be concerned about.
Also currently running a nexus 5.

I thought it was my own personal error this whole time. Hope it can be fixed with a software update!
Guys, please help us all out and vote on this issue in JIRA to make it as visible as possible to the CM devs. Create a JIRA account, and then on the right, Vote for the issue and then watch it as well. Also, if you can, comment on it too.
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-55
There are a LOT of people complaining about this issue, and many of us are nervously waiting to find out if it's a hardware or software issue. I'm personally hoping it's a kernel fix that needs to be done on CM's side, or it's something that can be fixed with a firmware update from JDI.
BTW - for more visibility , I found this official JIRA ticket for the issue:
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-55
I hope it gets more exposure. I'm surprised more people haven't complained about this because it's awful.
It's really the only major issue for me though, everything about the phone has been pretty great
*EDIT
oh lol, looks like someone beat me to it haha
I am actually relieved to see other people experiencing this. I use Swiftkey almost exclusively, installed it first thing, and I thought they must have done something, because I have had to focus on slowing down how quickly I type. I am bummed to know it's my phone but relieved to know it's not just me.

No one said its a kernel issue on JIRA. I was the one who posted the issue first on XDA and someone replied to me and took the initiative to put it on JIRA. I've been following this from day 1, and the CM devs said they're looking into it. Never said if it will be fixed or not. We can only hope.
Also please notice the CM devs may have accidentally merged two issues into BACON-55. Please only talk on BACON-55 if your issue is related to fast typing and the multitouch issues.
