What is the difference? TouchWiz 4.1.1 ROM - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I know Incubus has posted a new rom with the leaked version of VZW jellybean. But besides google now, what are the differences in this rom?

All JB features, speed, animations, battery-life, and it's newer obviously.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Is the improvement over ICS TW noticeable? I'm an AOSP kinda guy, but wouldn't mind having the TW camera and beaming abilities back. Is it CLOSE to as smooth as AOKP?

ita very smooth and fast. i. e. stock 4.0.4 quadrant gets about 4950 for me. stock 4.1.1 leak gets me about 5650 if that helps a little. the animations are fast and cool looking with no stuttering like in ics. so to answer your question yes its just as smooth and fast.

ROM suggestions?

Okay I'm new to the sg3 forums. I just switched to Verizon from Sprint and a epic 4G touch. I just couldn't take not having 4G where I live when Verizon has it here and my speed test was about 33mbps the other day on 4G ... Anyway I was running paranoid android on my epic so that's what I'm currently running on my sg3. What roms are most running and which do you guys prefer? Like I said I've only tried paranoid android and of course the stock Verizon until I rooted and unlocked the bootloader. What's a good rom to try out next?

I'd recommend cyanogenmod 10 nightly with Jelly bean 4.1.1! Very simple rom.
Synergy all the way (ICS, not jb yet...) + dark horse rises theme and trinity kernel. That's an s3 to make your friends envious first sure.

Synergy for me.
I'm on ParanoidAndroid as well. Tried out Synergy and Redemption, both were good but I prefer the AOSP style, and I like phablet mode on PA. If I weren't really into phablet mode, AOKP would probably be my choice. But I'll second,

I second this ... very smooth, enhanced Twiz experience. The unstated bonus is that the ROM automatically takes care of IMEI backup, Busybox, Samsung root check and a host of Verizon spyware/sludge.
Plus, there are several tasty themes and kernels available to tweak your user experience.
I am currently running Synergy.r72, EyeCandy (theme), KT747 (kernel) and InfinitySound.v2. Can you say awesome?
Definitely a must try.

This is only for AOSP. How did you get it to run?
For those inquiring about the InfinitySound tag in my sig. This is a reference to UltimateSound from here .. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1883262 .. v2 was an older build released for ICS.
Very few people were able to get it to work with Synergy/ICS ROMs, so the OP took down the link and limited his newer releases to JB only.
I am not comfortable mirroring an older build that soft bricked 90% of people who installed it.
He is working on GB and ICS compatible builds, so be patient.

No such thing, as vanilla android is unaltered, i.e. the nexus devices.
I would say that cyanogen mod is probably as close as you'll get. Aokp is close too but has much more customization options.

There isn't one. Use cm10 and don't use the customization. Also you will not have the s3 features like motion controls, camera, etc.
You're best bet is to try a couple out and find what works for you.

I'm gonna work on building vanilla JB rom as soon as the semester ends......don't have enough time till then :\ Should be convenient timing as a lot of the leg-work is already complete
I've already started working on one, but its not looking very promising so far. Its really really difficult getting the build to cooperate, and then once I finally do get it to cooperate thenaybe it won't take too long to get some of the initial kinks ironed out so people can start testing. But at least if I cannot get the bugs worked out enough to post it for people to use there is someone else who will begin working on it shortly. So hopefully we will have a pure AOSP ROM soon, one way or another.

You should really try the incredible JellyShot v0.5.2. It's JB 4.2.1, the most recent android ever. Google will not officialy release it for Nexus S, but this version is absolutely incredible! No kidding.
Slimbean is ok, but gets buggy along the way.
Bugless Beast is good, but a little outdated
Cyanogen 10 was not good for my battery and I thought it had too many fireworks, I like simple stuff.
Download JellyShot.
Just follow the instructions. I'm using Marmite v 1.7.5 (plain not the CM)
I use the one at column C5, is working great, no lag, no nothing just incredibleness!!
Look in search, it's my first post, so I can't post urls yet...

Touchwiz Nature UX Port?

I really think the new touchwiz is 10X better than the stock Touchwiz 4 on the blaze. Since the new Samsung relay is very similar to our device, is a port possible? I just want Touchwiz 5 on the Blaze. Cm10 has too many bugs, random reboots, etc. ICS on the blaze is a little too sluggish for my liking.
Come on guys i really want to see this happen!
They're not similar and there's not much development for the relay. There's a link for the new TW in the themes and apps section... it's not perfect but it works well enough.

Hey man, I've been using CM10 on my blaze for a few months, and ever since like... The November or December nightlies I haven't had ANY random reboots. The only bugs I've had were fixed by simply backup, wipe caches, and re flash. Cause by flashing updates too much I guess But give it some thought... cm10 isn't what it used to be...
Also, Blaz3r is okay if you want more of the touchwiz experience. But I hate touchwiz. Hate it. So I haven't used it enough to know if it's buggy.

I see in the CM10 thread this list of bugs:
Known Bugs:
Screen of Death: This is a CM10 bug, many other devices are afflicted, not just the blaze. Many people are working hard to fix this.
UI action sounds may not work at first. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons, the sounds will then work fine. This is a known CM10 bug
BLN is wonky. Working on getting us merged with the stable version native to CM10.
Fixed 20121103+ : WiFi generates a random MAC address with each boot.
Camera: Flash can't be disabled
Camera: Storage location cannot be changed. This isn't really a bug, however if the interest is great enough, I might try and figure out a way to change the system default storage location.
Other things maybe? Discuss in the thread...

Are all of these bugs still present in the latest builds?
The latest nightly is 99.8% stable. Occasionally occasional people have occasional problems once in a while. Nothing is 100% usually. I've been running it for many months now. Just user ICS camera from the market and set it to use your sd card for saving pics.

I've since moved on from CM10. Not that it wasn't superb, but I went flash happy
I'm currently running Slimbean 4.3 20130905, and I've gotta say its pretty sweet. Its in beta stages so there will be a few bugs, but honestly the only ones I've come across so far is the camera crashes, the torch crashes, and setting performance tweaks cause a reboot. Other than that its buttery smooth. I HIGHLY recommend it, sir. Its a lightweight build for superior performance, and it delivers through and through. Also flash with the minimal gapps build to keep performance nice and creamy. Slimbeam + minimal gapps = 140mgb. Smaller than your average ROM.
I would never steer a fellow android enthusiast in the wrong direction

To be perfectly honest Liquid Smooth gave me some trouble. Even after doing a completely fresh flash it wasn't stable in the least.
That being said it never hurts to give it a shot. I saw somewhere a kernel you could flash possibly fixing any issues you may have with it. Unfortunately it didn't work for me

Not really, the only thing that still exists is the stock camera doesn't have the option to save to the external SD card. Easily fixable by using a camera from the market, like 'ICS camera'.
