Power it off and try again. It shouldn't hurt anything to do that while the update is simply downloading. I realize this is a while after you posted, though.

AT&T update

Hey guys,
my InFuse just told me it has an update available. I postponed it right now.
Mine is rooted and unlocked.
Is is possible to safely do the update?
Thanks for your input.

There is a whole 4 pages dedicated to this in the general forum... Look there...
Just found it ... I am truely sorry! My fault!
it will most likely not work. it has to be stock
Does anyone know where the update is stored on the phone, I wanted to pull it and look over it and maybe attach it to a ROM. Also does anyone know what it does?

Update does not work for custom roms, i did it on infused 1.1.4, no dice
It checked for att's bloatware....if you've deleted it or frozen it, the update will fail...
Sent from my Samsung Infuse 4G
Yeah im having problems with mine, but now its saying im up to date but the version posted in the other thread doesnt match. Going to reset and update tomorrow then redo it all
It worked fine for my stock rooted phone with bloatware and tethering manager completely deleted. Now running FROYO.UCKE3.
Same here... it updated successfully on my stock rooted Infuse with the bloatware all deleted. I am still looking forward to ROM development with the new baseband(radio) though.

Update 1.82

Have you guys seen this yet?
http://briefmobile.com/download-att-one-x-update-with-wifi-fix
It supposedly fixes the wifi issues, has anyone downloaded it? If so, have you noticed if any of the other reported issues are fixed?
I imagine this removes root, correct?
I imagine it would, but I guess that's up to you if the update is worth losing root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649658
look in the dev section we already have a download of it available, and it says root still works

what do you want to backup? most of it you can backup by transferring to a pc, or apps use titanium backup.
Has anyone tried this? Even though it says official, why would it be here and not through ATT or HTC?

I was wondering the same.
i really dont doubt its credibility. but if your scared, wait for the official eta
no ones putting a gun to your head and telling you to flash it lol
What does "smoother / better performance" mean? Not literally, but what exactly has been altered here except the WiFi fix?

Like someone asked previously does this still allow you to get ota updates?
and od you have an idea of improvments
I downloaded it last night and these are the things I noticed.
-I do have to note that I didn't have the wifi issue so I can't comment on that.
-The notification led bug still exists where you turn it off yet it still seems to blink.
-When I click on YouTube link it actually takes me to the YouTube app instead of the mobile page.
- I haven't noticed any difference in speed and performance. Seems the same to me.

[i9023] All stock but no OTA yet

Is there something wrong with my phone?
I'm on a completely stock i9023 with 4.0.4. Reverted back from a heavily modded one a few days back to be able to experience my first-ever OTA but it seems like I'm the last person who'll ever get it! :crying:
Any ideas folks? Or is the OTA supposed to roll out gradually over devices?
Thanks in advance!
p.s., I cleared that Google framework thing but still no luck!
OTA updates typically roll out over several days or even weeks, and that's assuming they aren't halted due to bugs or other problems.

Well like what it said early it takes time to toll out the update to everyone. I got the OTA ice cream sandwhich update about 2 almost 3 weeks after it was released. Google just needs time to push it out to every phone so don't stress out about it to much.

Here is what I did...
(Note this is just if you don't get the notification saying the update is ready and you have the requirements to update)
1> Make sure your on stock 4.0.4
2> Make sure you have Nexus S variant i9023 & i9020T
3> Check for an update just in case if one is there ignore all the below steps
4> Go to App>All>Scroll down to "Google Service Framework">Clear its Data
5> Go back to System update in about phone and check for an update (It should say something crazy like "Last checked 1/01/1970
6> Download & Install
7> Enjoy!

You have toe clear data, force stop the services framework, and reboot. The force stopping it is very essential. It worked on my i9023 and it didnt without force stopping the services framework!

The force clear and check didn't work for me.
I had do wipe data, reset to factory defaults, and after reboot, voila!

I'd suggest starting it up and activating airplane mode to disable all data connections, that will disable the ability to run an update. Then with a root file browser I'd change the name or freeze two apps. Fwupgrade.apk and SDM.apk. You must be rooted to do this
That should alleviate your problem. At one point I removed both apps with no problem. They are both located in system/app

That's leaked 4.1.1 firmware cuz there isn't an official LI5 update. You might have to flash an official release like VRBMF1 4.1.2 using Odin to get rid of that updating bug.
I can't recall what would cause your issue or a simpler way to resolve it.

No, you didn't answer his question. He asked if you unlocked your bootloader, and you answered by saying this is the first time you have done a hard reset on your phone. That answer has nothing to do with the question of whether or not your bootloader is unlocked. @ShapesBlue, what he is describing sounds like when you wipe your phone and on startup you get the notification Android is updating your apps. That's all the help I'm going to provide since the guy is being a bit of a jerk.

Update to 5.1?

Hi everyone,
I know I am going to sound very annoying but I have googled various threads for hours and I still have not come close to an answer, so please be easy on me. I am a total noob!
So basically, Long story short, I bought this Moto G 2015 (4th Gen - Xt1072 the 5inch screen one) earlier this year, and it has been very slow ever since! So now, I am getting notifications that I cant update to 5.1!
The issue is, my phone is rooted, and I would like it to remain rooted! So, I am assuming i will not be able to install the update file.
The real question I have is, how do I go about this? How do i update to 5.1 (22.46.12.en.GB) without losing my root? I am happy with backing it all up on Titanium, and then updating but I don't know how to do it. Do I have to download the new android on my laptop and then re-install it or something? All this technical talk is literally racking my brain!
I know the solution is probably simple so I would really appreciate if someone can give me a simple answer!
Thanks so much

U can flash cm12.1 or can update your device then just root it back.
I doubt its a fourth gen, when the latest is 3rd.
Why can't you unroot, update, then reroot?

You can follow this link for a tool to restore back to stock firmware. This will wipe your phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...dows-tool-moto-g-2015-xt1072-restore-t3124915
Then update after that and root again.
I don't know much about removing root, I would look up how you did it then search for removing it. What did you use? Supersu?
