[Q]What tablet to get?[Q]

im looking to get my 1st, & probably the last/only tablet, & was wondering which tab yall suggest, & i dont plan to get/use one that requires a service plan, as ill either be on wifi of wifi teather w/ htc hero.
it needs to be 7-10"
@ least 800mhz (higher is better)
@ least 4gb internal storage (needs to be expandable to @ least 8gb total)
@ least 512mb memory (DDR preferred)
@ least android 2.2 (a tab that can be rooted & modified is preferred, but not necessary)
Ethernet ready
flash 10 support
access to market
need it for just doing basic stuff, web, video, music, games, & only looking to spend under $200
ive looked & looked, but lost, saw some on ebay, but only had 400-500mhz processor

Wait for the LG Slate for T-Mobile. It's going to kick ass, or maybe HTCs tablet.

If it was me i would get the XOOM, going to have 2.3 out of the box...... great specs.......... or you could wait for the 10in Samsung but that is july i would guess

Doubts among three samsung models

I'll buy a samsung, but I have doubts among three models because they do not know much about hardware.

I would not take any of them i would take the sony ericsson xperia mini in germany it costs about 150 euro and it has 512 mb ram , a 1 Ghz processor and it gets ics !

android is upgradable up to 2.2?

It works with android 2.3.3 and an update to android 4 should come

thanks for the tips, but I ended up buying an Optimus P350. I tested one, and saw that the rom is horrible, could someone pass me the forum links here with rom for that model? (sorry for bad english)

I have just hard bricked my LG P500 after trying to downgrade from 2.3.3 Gingerbread to 2.2.2 and I'm now thinking of buying another one because I like the phone. Are there any other LG models of phone around the same price range that are as good?
My main question, I was looking at http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_one_p500-3516.php and I see that it says
Memory Card slot microSD, up to 32 GB, 2 GB included
Internal 170 MB, 512 MB RAM
Are there two models of LG P500 out there? One with 170mb memory and another with 512mb? I was looking to buy on a few sites and I see that some also state different memory as well. Any idea where is the cheapest I can get a LG P500 in the UK?

There are only ONE model as LG P500 INTERNATIONAL VERSION .
And it has 160-170 Mb internal memory for apps installation purpose
It has 512 MB Rom for Operating system (OS) Installation purpose only.
And 512RAM
And it support external memory card(Sdcard) upto 32GB Only
battery preinstalled officially Li-ion 1500mAh Only .:beer:
Camara is 3.2 mega pixel without LED flash.
Officially Available Final update of android OS is 2.3.3 Gingerbread.

Looking for help with a chinese tablet loaded with viruses from the seller

I suppose this the actual tablet specdevice.com/showspec.php?id=9340-1a26-6182-ef500033c587 it was advertised as a 128 gb, 8 gb, octa core, after a factory reset it showed 12 gb memory but still 8 gb ram(think this is actually 1 gb ), still thinking its on android 9, while in reality it is something along the lines of of android 5, i would like for someone to help walk me through how to flash it with a proper OS that is not sorrupted with malware/virusesIve read and read and tried but i keep failing Thank you in advance

Well in order to do that we would need the source code of the tablet, which is not available anywhere around for your tablet. I'm sorry to announce that you got scammed like every other people buying cheap chinese tablets. I know the price is quite interesting but you'll always end up losing your money with these sellers. So if you really want a tablet just go for verified brands, and do not buy from aliexpress or marketplaces like that.

cheap 'Welcome' phone

Ive not been in here since the XDA Universal days... glad to see its grown and grown.
Quick question.. I have a cheap chinese 'Welcome' phone
Is it posiable to flash a standard rom to these..as its allegedly got 265gb storage and 8gb ram...
but in reality has 16gb storage and 2gb ram
and Android version is miles out too.. says its 10.0 .. but i suspect its Android 5/6
Its ok for the price.. just wish it would tell the truth.. it may run a bit smoother then.
unsure of the processor though..

Hi. I got mugged as well. I thought I was buying a Cheap End Huawei P50 Pro but got a Welcome K40 Pro+,. It has the wallpaper like Xaomi K40Pro+. It should have 16GB RAM 512GB ROM, but sadly, only 0.92902 GB RAM and 4GB ROM. There is a whole raft of lies. It has mainboard , sp7731e_1h10 (32bit). The OS is meant to be Android 11 but it comes up as Oreo. I found the same mainboard on a post from GSM from 2018, a Presto phone that was being rooted by the disappointed owner who complained about loads of bloat and malware.
I can only use 1 app at a time, If I try 2 apps the previous on quits.
