Poached this from the LG 4X HD forum and wanted to share this keyboard with you guys. Swype is fluid and just the overall experience typing with this keyboard is much better IMO.
Link for download: https://hotfile.com/dl/178058074/2672b3b/Android_4.2_KB.apk.html
Directions:
Install just like a regular .apk
Go to settings > Language & Input > and check the box for the Android Keyboard
Select Android Keyboard as the default keyboard to use
Enjoy
Cheers I will try this, been on Swype beta pretty much since I got the phone. Do you feel this is better our about the same

It feels quicker, but you can't just tap on a word and get a list of alternatives, which I'm sure was there in the proper Swype.
Can confirm that it is in the proper Swype, will log onto the pc and try to download again.

From the original site;-
Move to system/app folder in Root Explorer. Make sure the permissions are set to RW-R-R. Reboot.
Oh, and don't try to install it. A reboot with the proper permissions set will populate it . If you want, remove the other camera/gallery, which for most is Gallery2.apk.

Photo Sphere FC is a known bug - mentioned repeatedly on the original page. Will hopefully be fixed tomorrow.
As for the green line - try on a different ROM and see if it's still there - may be related to the blue lines on ICS ROMs?

OK, confused by the quoting of the Camera/Gallery stuff.
Go to HotFile, selct "Regular Download", wait 15 seconds, then click on the "Click here to download" link and you should get a file called "Android 4.2 KB.apk" downloaded. Just re-tested it and it is fine.

Are you sure it is the Beta and not the Alpha, which is reported to only work if your IMEI is tied to the app itself, thus making it so the alpha testers couldn't leak it.
Tried this on my Eris.. It opens up just fine. But it doesn't connect to any sites D:
I just installed it like a normal app. It seems slow, doesn't have any form of flash (should have never expected that) no pinch to zoom, not even double tap. It's not exactly worth the time - I will just stick with the default Desire browser. I see why it was such a closed beta, normal people would not enjoy this browsing experience.

just an extra keyboard. you'll have to go to settings, keyboard, then check swype and then open an email or something and long press where you type and then choose select input then swype. if you dont like you can uninstall or long press and choose the regular keyboard.

Post 4 on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6269032&postcount=4
Swype.micro.black.apk
Using it now ftw
you guys may already know this but it took me a minute to figure out that you have to press and hold the input area and then switch input methods. enabling swype in the settings doesnt automatically appear as the default keyboard.
edit: wow this swype thing is badass
I don't like how swype doesn't have the letter pop up when you press a let normally. Also, in swype are the sym and enter buttons messed up for anybody else? On mine the text isn't really on the actual button.
Hmmm. Apparently I had an old version installed our something. I installed the one posted in this thad and it's much better!
I still would like the letter I press to pop up like on the stock keyboard. If it acted like the stock keyboard when pressing letters normally if it also had the voice text button it would be perfect.
whats the difference between this one and the one i have installed from market? 5.something mb apk
I don't know. I don't get any results when I search the market for Swype.

1st post and let me start by thanking everyone for all the excellent contributions to the community that help us realize the potential of our Cappy!
I finally flashed my first rom, Andromida 1.0, and I am astounded by the results. I essentially have a new phone now!
One thing I haven't been able to figure out is that youTube no longer shows up as an option to share when I attempt to share a video. It seems that the OS does not see that the app is installed. I have uninstalled, reinstalled several times in hopes that it will be recognized but it has not worked.
Any ideas?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using Tapatalk
As far as I know, the share option should be visible in portrait mode and located in the upper right hand corner of the screen. There should be a pulldown menu with 'share' in it.
i can confirm that youtube is not showing up in the share options. this was not be design by us, but as far as i know, like this in standard armani captivate. we will have a look and see if something is missing. one of those things we didnt notice during development.
Would an alternate mediauploader.apk work or is it missing altogether?
All I have is the Sign Out button available. I wonder if it is a setting within my youTube account that is causing this.
When I was running stock 2.1 I would have the option to "Share" a video from within the camera app or video player app. When I would press "Share" a list of apps would pop up and I could choose how I wanted to upload the file... Email, Gmail, Handsent, Whatsapp, youTube. Now youTube is no longer listed.... hmmmm
I'm stumped...
Thanks for your reply!

This is just the Stock Launcher + Messaging apks. Taken straight off my Galaxy Nexus.
- Before you begin, Make sure that Unknown Sources is checked in Settings > Security. And make sure you have ES File Explorer downloaded.
How to install the launcher:
1. Download the launcher (at the bottom of the post)
2. Open it in ES File Explorer and go through the installation process.
3. Press the home button and it should ask you if you want to use HTC Sense or the Launcher, choose launcher. If you like it you can make it your default one.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to install the Stock ICS Messaging App:
- YOU HAVE TO BE ROOTED TO DO THIS!
1. Download the Mms.apk (at the bottom of the post) Then in ES File Explorer, rename it to Message+CRC_1.apk
2. Go to system/app/ and rename the ORIGINAL Message+CRC_1.apk to Message+CRC_1.apk.bak (this is incase the Stock ICS one messes up)
3. Move the Stock ICS Messaging App that you downloaded and renamed to Message+CRC_1.apk to system/app/
4. Go to your app drawer and open up Messaging and test it out!
Any questions just ask.
Thanks but using the launcher I can not add Widgets to home screen causes fc

If you want tested final products then you should click the check for updates button in your settings menu. This is the XDA, it's well known to back your apps up and be prepared to have to restore when trying new things.
For the record, if you must get rid of the sense launcher (i love it) just download nova or apex launchers from the market. They ran super smooth on my galaxy note.

So I installed the new Google Now hacked apk and it works 100% on my One S running Torxx Tmobile ROM! I used Total Commander to rename the original system file, copied the apk to system/app, set the permissions and then went into the system/app folder and installed it after setting the permissions. For some reason just moving the app didn't replace the system search. I installed the voice workaround from the Play Store and wallah! Working perfectly so far. Happy installing!

Did you download the voice workaround from the Play Store? Yes it's not the native jellybean voice engine but the workaround works fairly well. I've been playing with it fairly relentlessly for the last 24 hours and it has heard what I wanted to say 95% off the time. Pretty sweet update to our already great search feature.

So they pulled the voice workaround app from the market, but I have APK here for anybody that wants to download it.

However, the voice search has to be initiated separately to work. Doesn't work from within Now.

Check the original thread, somebody actually got it working completely without the workaround needed. Grab the zip file and flash it, it works flawlessly on my One S! The only thing I had to do after flashing it was change the permissions of the files. And that's only if your microphone doesn't stop listening.

This is a version of the app that doesn't do the double take thing that shows you the results twice. I find it works much better and smoother, it still comes up with blank results occasionally but all you have to do is touch the screen to see them.
