thrilled with ParanoidAndroid 2.23, but for one thing ... I get blue bars on WiFi but not on the mobile network. If it's relevant, I have the March 2012 baseband. I have flashed the ROM twice (after factory resets), flashed gapps and tonyp's new_baseband.zip. I have tried "fix permissions" from recovery, and wiped cache and dalvik (sp?). The APN (T-Mobile US) seems correct, as I'm getting on the HSPA network, just won't give me data! Suggestions on what to try now?
Thanks's for all responders.

Ok, I'm probably overlooking somthing simple but I can't get the latest nightly stingray ICS Xoom Rom to connect to verizon 3g/4g. I've searched around on google and the forums a bit but I don't see anything about it.
Here's what I've done so far.
Starting point Moray Xoom
Titanium back + nanodroid
factory reset
flash stingray
boot into ICS, all is well (didn't check internet)
reboot into recovery
install gapps (the zip located in the main stingray thread on this board)
boot up, everything works great on wifi
disable wifi, go to settings -> wireless & networks -> more -> Mobile Networks
click activate
I let it set there for 20 minutes and think about it but it never connected. One other thing i noticed is that the clock is correct, but is set to GMT instead of GMT-6.
What am I doing wrong?
Update: I'm running build EOS IML74K Nightly 8
Baseband version shows "Unknown"

I dont have a 3g/4g unit - but I would try this upgrade path instead.
-Factory Reset - Wipe Data and Dalvik
-Format ALL partitions as well (Yes this sucks) but not external sd card. I hope your nandroid is on a external sd card anyway.
-Be sure you have the ICS ROM and GAPPS ready to flash.
-Go into mounts/storage and mount all partitions.
-Flash ROM - and dont reboot
-Flash GAPPS
-Reboot Device
-DO NOT RESTORE TIBU DATA...just apps.
This is my preferred upgrade path on every android device.
Let us know how it worked.
I would start over, with a wipe data/factory reset from within CWM as well as a wipe cache and wipe dalvik. Then flash stingray then gapps (without rebooting in between - doing so has caused problems on other ics roms). If that doesn't work, you may have a bad download - did you check the mdsum?
Ok, I followed the steps exactly as listed above. Now when i start up it's going into a wizard which is automatically "Searching for service..." and has a option to skip and go with wifi instead.
Update:
After bypassing 3G and setting up wifi I've noticed that the baseband version listed under "Settings -> About Tablet" is still showing Unknown. Is this a sign that the baseband driver for 3G on my device isn't recognizing?
MZ600 is the same situation as you.
ALL available ROM cannot recognize the baseband version if you have not get 4G update.
That's a terrible problem for overseas users!
I was on AOKP, getting LTE coverage. Everything working fine.
Made a backup, and wiped data. and flashed ViperXL (wanted to test)
I decided to go back to AOKP, so I used my restore. Upon restoring I could only access 3G/HSPA networks, no 4G/LTE..
I downloaded cleanrom based on 4.0.3, wiped everything. Flashed, booted up. The icon says "4G LTE" now, but I am not getting any internet, and yes the internet is enabled. What can I do now?
Try deleting and re adding the att pta APN? Can you get into *#*#3646#*#*?

AOKP is like CM10. You need to come from a 4.03 ROM before flashing them. I'm assuming Viper is probably 4.04. Flash CleanRom 4.0 or any other ROM based off of 4.03 and then wipe reflash AOKP.

It started I think after I put the 1st JB TW ROM on my phone (eg Incubus). Since then, every time I try out any AOSP/AOKP based ROM I lose WiFi.
Wipe and format everything (data, cache, dalvik). Install AOSP/AOKP ROM, do the initial setup, get WiFi working and then after 1st reboot -> no WiFi. I tried many ROMs based on the above platform. Same thing.
If I toggle the wifi on/off/on some times I get the wifi back but just until the next reboot. Sometimes when I try to toggle the wifi screen freezes.
I odined back to stock. Unrooted and locked. I rooted and unlocked and right away I reinstalled a CM10. Same problem.
When that happens there is no wifi network found and scan finds nothing (i have many netorks around me). It is like the wifi service is not present.
I tried different kernels and different radios. No go.
All the TW stock ROMs (ICS or JB) work fine.
Any idea? Did you hear about this anywhere?
Thanks for your help.

The phone wouldn't boot into the rom if they were rooted but had a locked bootloader.

Try wiping System before flashing AOKP as well. Wipe them a few times just to be sure. Im thinking that possibly recovery doesnt always wipe like it should but im not sure.
I did it.I tried too many times not to get it right at least 1 time.

have you tried the official cm10 m1 release?
I tried the last CM10 from Sep the 23 rd.I don't know which version is that.

Well, I have news. Problem not solved but something new came up.
I had a nand of an official cm10 from Sep the 9th. I recovered and voila the wifi works perfect. More than that. I dirty flashed the nightlie from today and everything works fine
I then wiped and format again everything and flashed the CM10 from today. WiFi lost again after 1-3 reboots.
By the way if I reboot after losing wifi next time I get a screen with activating which stays there forever. Also my phone no and MIN are gone.
I recovered them but the wifi is still gone.
I live in Ca so I'm in roaming if this is of some importancce.
Can somebody mimic this? Fresh install of CM10 official and then reboot.
It does the same for me for any AOSP AOKP JB based.
I have a netgear router that provides wifi service on 2.4 and 5 Ghz on both bands 20 and 40 Mhz. The SSIDs have different names.
I specified already that when that happen I cannot see any other wifi around me and there are many.
I have a htc one x and i currently have no network reception. i took it to the o2 shop and the o2 guru said that it is caused by the missing imei and baseband.
He sugggested installing a custom ROM to try fixing this (my phone is out of warranty anyway).
Having looked online i have managed to root my phone, backup my stock android ROM and installed CyanogenMod-10.2.1-endeavoru using clockwork mod recovery.
However, just after installing cyanogenmod when i tried to boot into this i am seeing the blue preloader icon going round in circles. I have waited for 30mins and its still loading.
I have wiped cache, factory reset and wiped dalvik cache but that didnt work either.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next?
I simply want reception back on the phone so i can use it, not really fussed about the ROM.
Thanks!
I've been beating my head against the wall trying to figure this out. So the phone was brand new, it worked with Verizon on stock rom. Now that I have a custom rom the service nor the data will work with Verizon (wifi and all other features work.) I've installed a few roms and none work. I've tried with and without Gapps. Still nothing.
It is a Motorola Moto G7, not Play or Power.
I've tried changing network settings to everything available, tried changing APN settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can verify whether or not your IMEI is intact?
Just to be certain, when you flashed your ROM, did you factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing the ROM?
Did you wipe the system partition before fladhing the ROM? This is sometimes necessary to avoid issues in the newer ROM.

Thank you for the response! Sorry for the delay I had to go out of town and didn't have the phone, I wanted to check everything and such prior to responding.
The IMEI looks to be intact, not sure how to tell it's not? I'm pretty sure I factory reset and wiped everything. I don't think I did the system partition. I can't remember.
This information might help as well. It seems to be something with 4GLTE. My mobile data will only show 3G (and it don't work). Once when in the Mobile settings while inserting the SIM I seen VOLTE pop up, had a full signal, then it disappeared, went to some other settings and the signal dropped as well.
