MazWoz JB AOSP KERNEL
Introducing the MazWoz JB kernel for the HTC Evo (Supersonic). This started as a quest to improve battery life on the OG Evo. I have added a new governor "mazwoz" based off of the smartassv2 governor. I have also added the deadline I/O scheduler.
Code:
30 Oct 2012 - Initial build
Added mazwoz governor - based on smartassv2
Added deadline IO scheduler
2 Nov 2012 - v0.1
Added SBC
8 Nov 2012 - v0.2
Added HAVS (Hyper Active Voltage Scaling) code
Fixed memory leak in MazWoz Governor
Thanks to preludedrew (Evervolv) for the initial kernel tree/work
Thanks to atyoung for being awesome and giving me a lot of good ideas
Thanks to Tiamat for the initial SBC code I used as a base
The Good
Code:
Improved performance
Better read/write speeds
Better battery life
HWA
SBC (If you want it)
The Bad
Code:
Battery life can still be better
2D performance can still be better *** needs work
Will attempt to work on camera drivers

Hahaha, thanks bro. And congrats to you on your 3000th post.
Ahhh the days when we were just starting out (earlier this year) and had to ask sooooo many questions.
Does this kernel have sbc? If it doesn't, all I can say is, awesome Running drew's 10/30 nightly, 1110max, 384min, mazwoz governor and deadline for scheduler, performance and battery life has been excellent. Thanks for your hard work

A kernal for jb?? Thanks dude! Really excited you are gonna attempt the camera drivers! Can't thank you enough for all the work you and all other devs do for people like me who don't know how to! (yet)!
Evo 4g.
No clue if it was related to this kernel or not, but this morning I flash it over on JMZ's CM10 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785498). In the afternoon after a text message (I had received earlier messages), the phone rebooted and then was stuck at the booting screen of Cyanogenmod. I left it for about 15 minutes with no change. I pulled the batter and let it sit again. I ended up booting into recover and clearing the cache/d-cache/temp and it booted correctly. I did this clearing also initially before flashing the kernel.

Fusion Kernel for the One S (S4)
Lastest Version: v1.1 (7/18/12)
This kernel is no longer supported. I have completely re-based from scratch and released a new kernel, Fusion Ultimate. Please check it out.
Thanks for all the support.
This is a kernel based off of the lastest US T-Mobile sources that just released.
It is compatible with all One S's with an S4 processor.
*Disclaimer*
Code:
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device.
By using this you are taking full responsibility blah blah blah....
...you get the point
As there are many people working on ROMs for the One S, I have decided to start maintaining a custom kernel for it. Again, this is based off of the TMOUS kernel sources that just released a few days ago. I will add more and more features to it for new releases. Note that this is only compatible with stock Sense-based ROMs, not AOSP-based ROMs like CM9 or AOKP. Maybe in the future I will create an AOSP version. Enjoy
v1.0 (Initial Release)
- Based off the T-Mobile US kernel sources
- All features from mdeejay's latest virtuous kernel
- Overclocked to 2.1Ghz by default --> use SetCpu or similar app to change
- Added SmartassV2 governor (gives extraordinary battery life and performance, look here)
- tweaked SmartassV2 frequencies for better compatibility
- insecure kernel (root in adb)
v1.1
- Fixed CPU issues from virtuous kernel (hopefully)
- Enabled init.d scripts support with busybox run-parts
- Reverted to stock GPU 2D and 3D frequencies
- CPU now default 1.5Ghz
- SmartassV2 as default governor
- make CPU1 (second core) to be online
- good battery life

The zip packages are named with the date of their release.
v1.0 (boot-071712.img): http://d-h.st/vtX
v1.1 (boot-071812.zip): http://d-h.st/jsd
How to install:
Flash the zips with TWRP recovery.
Kernels will be in zips now. The reason is because some stock patch scripts from /system/etc were interfering with the CPU frequency settings, hence some the issues from Virtuous kernel. The zips flash the patch scripts as well as the kernel.

Klin. Do you know if with this kernel there's issues controlling the CPU? Like for example down scaling the speed for both cores or having the governors activate on both cores? I've had that issue before.

What he means is do the clock settings stick after reboot. In virtuous kernel it went back to Max from boot and the settings had to be set again.

That was one problem. Some people, myself included, also had an issue where the kernel settings were only applied to CPU0. CPU1 would stay at whatever the kernel's default min/max speeds were regardless of the settings in SetCPU (or any other cpu app for that matter).

I have built a P6800 JB custom kernel from MD3 source.
FOR P6800 GSM/3G device running JB MD3 ONLY
It has compiled without errors.
Kernel compression = Gzip
Added NTFS filesystem support
General optimze for size
Support for paging of anonymous memory (swap)
Pegagsus governor set as default (although didn't see any module compiled.....)
Removed powerSave & userSpace governors
Default IO scheduler = NOOP
As I don't have the device (only P6810), I can't actually test myself...........
If you wish to test, only first EXPERIENCED SENIOR member to volunteer (reply in this thread) to test and give proper feedback will receive the links by PM.
I have 4 files :
Odin (.tar) & CWM (.zip) flashable .tar for both stock and SkyHigh kernels.
There may be a RISK involved, but if you choose to accept, you assume all responsibilty.
If the kernel works/partially, I MAY continue further development by adding various features :
example only - OC/UV, frandom support, tweaks, governors, io schedulers, and other modules etc. Some method, I cannot test until my P6810 is upgraded
I will not release sources/changes as this kernel is not for public release ! Only, MAYBE if it actually works....(Plus I have to find out how to upload repo to github anyway )
Up to you guys to, otherswise this stalls here.
Cheers,
UITA
I think i can give it a go.
I'd be happy to test for you, the main interest for me would be UV the CPU/GPU and screen.
Probably doesnt help but this kernel (Hirox version) does the job amazingly, stops my phone from heating up in the slightest with no loss of performance and great battery life

Everyone, sorry to disappoint but this kernel is now dead. Due to a serious serious issue with the git client, me trying to delete 1 repo caused the deletion of my kernels repo instead. There will be no builds anymore, I would have to start from scratch and I do not remember every line of code I have changed for the past 4 months.
My sincerest apologies to you guys, I am still shocked myself right now, I can't believe it did that.
I will keep downloads up for now but I doubt the kernel will work bug free into the future without keeping up with driver updates and such. If there are any GPL concerns from any mods here on xda, please let me know and I will take the links down. I had source up until it got deleted. Thanks for the help, experience, and the times guys. You made this kernel a wonderful learning experience for me. Look out for my app in the next few months guys, its my new project if git doesn't screw me on that too.

No mirrors please, if I take the downloads down, I do it for a good reason (it could hurt your device). There has been IMEI issues with all CM based kernels for d2 devices recently. In order to get your IMEI back you have to reinstall rom, gapps, and then the kernel all in one go. I will build with latest fixes and source sometime tonight for you guys.

After I managed it to upload the source, I think I will make a new build for NFC and non-NFC.
Source is up now!
I will work on it later, because I have to go to school now.
Update with support for non-NFC and more, see changelog!
Can anyone confirm, that GT-I9105 is booting and it works ?

Odin flash failed this time. Tried several times, even restarted my PC.
Ok i will make a new package later
First of all, thanks for doing this for such an unpopular device. Some wishes / suggestions here.
Would very much appreciate if you make the kernels CWM flashable, as suggested earlier here by someone else.
Possible to enable undervolting support? Would be interesting to experiment with both overclocking and voltage setups.

That's super fast! I didn't even get to flash the one updated a few hours ago

Any other non-NFC version user tried flashing this? Doesn't work for me but asking just in case the problem is only with my phone
Thanks for the update. Working without problems. Thanks also for lulzactive! Hope others are coming too.

I'm sharing my latest kernel for the S4 based on stock MJ5 source code with merges from CM10.2, Intellidemand (ala Faux123), and my own hotplugging based on Thalamus' generic ARM hotplugging.
Supported ROMS: MJ5 and MJ8-based (MJ6 has some weird screen on delay, and MJ7 is untested).
- Loki'd
- FIOPS and FIFO I/O schedulers
- Intellidemand governor
- iX Hotplugging
- Dynamic File Sync (Faux123)
- Fast Charge (Faux123)
- Sound Control (Faux123)
- exFAT
Overclocking or undervolting are NOT planned atm. Personally don't see the need. My primary focus is stability and battery savings balanced with performance.
Thanks to...

Any plans for an un lokied version for use on the i337m? Ran your kernel on my S3 and I know how top notch your work is

I'll see what I can do. Shouldn't be too hard to have the installer script check the platform and skip the loki for non-337.

I use FauxClock...works best IMO. System Tuner Pro works well for the basics.
Good start but missing native exfat support?

Thx for heads up. Haven't tested on MJ7 yet, but tried dirty flash earlier from his 9.1.3 and definitely didn't like that at all. I lost root when I went back to 9.1.3 and just flashed chainfire su apk.

No prob :good: Glad I was able to help, I've been wanting to try this kernel since you released it for the S4. Hope you can come up with something for those of us ahead of MJ5 :fingers-crossed:
