Hello everyone,
First, applogies if this is in a wrong section.
I want a cheap(est) android phone for tethering on "three uk" network.
Must have dl speeds atleast upto 14mbps and have to work on 2100mhz frequency range,
Any brand (or no brand) will do,
Also must be able to teher via usb and wifi,
Separate charging port, so can be charged from the mains (while connected to a pc/tethering)
All other features are unimportant
If you know of such phone please give a make/model, or better drop an ebay/other reputable marketplace link.
Thanks
Cheers
Ed

Question for everyone. It is time for me to replace my wireless router. It has served me well for the last 6 years but now it seems to drop connections 4 times a day. I want to move up to the Wireless N platform and having read through the Xoom and TF threads regarding this, I would ask for comments or recommendations. I like Cisco/Linksys products so which one would you choose? TIA

I'm not pretty sure of it, but I remember seeing the wifi N isn't supported on TF (In general section)
My bad, it was in Q/A section just few posts below :

Thanks Bud,
I chose the Cisco/Linksys E3200 dual band N router. (2.4GhZ/5GhZ) All my devices connect fine and my speed has improved dramatically! Thanks for your input.
So, I know a700 natively does not support 3g, however since I can connect any USB device to it, is it possible to have 3G/4G mobile broadband dongles working or is it a limitation of ICS drivers library?
EDIT: sorry, I thought I was posting it in Q/A section. If possible, would like to ask moderators to move. Thanks
Hello,
Recently I bought a tablet Cello T1144 v2 through ebay and it does not work properly. I can not connect to a wireless network. I try to turn the wireless settings on and see how the slide moves to "ON" and immediately turns "OFF". Also its sometimes reboots randomly. Before I decide that this is hardware issue, I want to reinstall Android, but I cant find ROM for this tablet.
I tried to contact Cello support and asked, but no luck -- they only said that I can send them tablet and they will reinstall it for charge. But it is very non economical for me. Maybe somebody had this tablet or can provide some useful links where I can find ROM? I would be grateful for any information about ROM for this tablet

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
I'm sorry to hear about your trouble but we cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist There is no forum specifically for Cello devices at this time but I suggest that you ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. Since your device is relatively uncommon, please be patient and give the experts plenty of time to respond.
Good luck!
I bought a quadcoptor recently which is designed to be used with a smart phone via 5.8ghz wifi in order to be able to see what the camera is pointed at. Unfortunately my current phone only has 2.4ghz wifi but Im fairly happy with it and Im not anxious to sign another contract with verizon so my question is this. Is there a phone that has 5.8ghz wifi on it that I could pick up from say ebay fairly cheap or will I end up spending enough money on it that I should just get something newer? Also what kind of range can I expect to get? the quad has a 100m range but Im pretty sure the wifi range will be a fair amount less than that.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
5.8ghz may have been chosen because of the range it can provide.
This will give you some background information on what to think about (depending on the route you go):
> General discussion > General > [GUIDE] Picking Out Your Next Device
The members that frequent in this thread will be happy to narrow down some choices based on your criteria:
> General discussion > Questions and Answers > **DEVICE SUGGESTION THREAD** -- Not sure what device to buy? Ask here!
For the latter link (well, for anything beyond starting threads in the Assist section), you will need an XDA account to post.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Forgive me if the question is outright silly...
I am looking for a portable FullHD monitor to use with my Nexus 5. While I do have and use Slimport->HDMI dongle, most portable monitors now provide only USB 3.0 (DisplayLink) interface. Hence the question: is there any chance the two could work together? I realize that Nexus would not be able to provide the power needed, so I would require something in between, like a dock or a powered USB hub, but could it possibly work? Slimport seems to be related to DisplayLink, yet I have not seen any Slimport->DisplayPort adapters.
