Hi,
i need your help:
My nexus s power button died, but i can live with this. If it turns off, i can power it on via downloadmode + Odin. But now my vol down button is dying and if it is completely dead i cant enter download mode anymore. What can I do? Is there a chance to remap the buttons, so that i can power on my nexus when it is completely off?
Thanks,
Raphael

Maybe find a ROM that has different power on options like the "menu" button.
Also I believe the CMR has a touch screen version.
Good luck

Do Not turn off target!!! screen. How do I get out of this without doing something wrong? Please help. You guys are all awesome
Just pull the battery. It'll be fine. Some say you can hold the power button for 30 seconds too, but who has that kind of time?

My friend's infuse accidently took his power button off the phone and broke it. Is there any app that he can use as a way to turn the phone off or on? Thanks.

I don't know any apps for it.. But flash BeanStalk to his phone and there's this thing called "Volume Rockers Wake Phone" So you can use your volume buttons to turn the screen on but if you cant flash it then i suggest you get a power button replacement
Yea i was looking into that earlier today.

My power button is also broken and I get around it by using the volume rocker wake feature that cm10 offers and use button remapper app to program the search button to turn off and lock the screen. Been using it this way for months and it does fine. Also easy to flash updates since blue cwm recovery also allows the search button to be used to select items. I couldn't do this with the red recovery.

what happens if device with closed case get stuck in booting/starting/loading screen?
usually on my desire i remove battery and turn it on? i wanna get nexus 4 but what happens if it stucks when loading custom rom or something? any key combo to turn it off, reboot or something?
Holding the power button for around 10 seconds is equivalent to a battery pull on a nexus 4.

There will be a small reset button which you can hit with a pin ! So no worries ! Or just simply holding the power button shuts the phone down

Somewhere between the upgrade to 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 I have lost the ability to take a screenshot with the volume up and power button trigger.
Anyone else experienced this?
I am completely stock.

So my brother showed his phone today and the power button acts like its held down and then sometimes is not responsive at all. I remember on my S1 having the same problems, what I did was made the power button the search key and turned off the power button all together. Anybody have and good ideas on power button workarounds I'm not newbie I just have been using my gnex and n5 so long I kinda forgot the whole Samsung game. He is currently running Beans ROM.
Or maybe anybody had any luck cleanings the power button if so how did you do it? Thanks!

I would try Button Savior from the Play Store first, I've never used it but it will let you turn off the power button. I had the same problem recently and no cleaning/repair I tried worked, I ended up just opening the phone and prying the power button off the motherboard. My phone's button problems were preventing it from starting up correctly, and made it impossible to boot into recovery. If your problems aren't that bad, obviously a software solution is better than ripping parts off the motherboard.

The popular method would be using xposed installer with the Wanam module.
