[Q] Rasbeanjelly - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Everyone's talking about it and most devs are basing their ROMs to it.
What are the exact features of rasbeanjelly? there is a 10/28 rom update and i downloaded it.

I don't believe there's any rom based off Rasbeanjelly.
Try it and you'll see. It's the successor to Rascream and it's developed by rascarlo. The rom is meant to be very lightweight, based off AOSP with minimal mods to keep the stock feeling and experience while enhancing it a bit.

Strawberry and rasbeanjelly are 95% similar. I think Strawberry only has few mods more and different kernel. I would say, use any of these, they are both fast.

[Q] CyanogenMod 10 or Venoms

I am currently using venoms and i am curious about CyanogenMod 10 .
So i want someone who was using both roms to share his experience with them, what is better and what is worst.

Hi,
Read the [OP] of each one.
Better still, make a nandroid backup of your current ROM,and flash the ROM you are inquiring about.
You are the only one who can judge how good a ROM is.

I'm with you...
CyanogenMod 10 is undergoing rapid changes, sometimes newer builds break some function in older builds (e.g. mms). Hard to make conclusion based on that. Imo if you want stability, use ViperS as daily driver. Make nandroid backups of your ViperS before installing CM10, of course.
Matter of Personal Preference!
As our friend malybru said, you have to flash both ROMs then decide for yourself. I have flashed and tested many ROMs myself. Gotta admit it's a matter of personal preference after all.
I come from ARHD. Now I'm using bruce's CM10 Android 4.1.2 latest build (October 27, 2012). This "IS" by far the fastest, most complete, most advanced Custom ROM I have ever used. WIth V6 Supercharger and latest version of GApps, It's amazing how everything works perfect with this ROM.
As you already know, CM10 is an AOSP Based ROM, where m0narx's ViperS is Sense Based.
VipersS uses Android 4.0.3 ICS as it's core system + Sense UI 4.1. This is an amazing Sense Based ROM.
CM10 uses Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and it's PURE Android. IMO this one is more advanced and it's faster + I love AOSP UI.
Both ROMs get updates now and then, but again remember that CM10 is under ongoing development. So speaking of "Daily Driver" this might not be a wise choice, unless you like to test and experience.
Both ROMs are rooted and highly customizable. Flash both of them and you'll know.

cleamrom vs cm10

If you've used both regularly and recently, which one would you make your daily driver?
thanks!

Er..... I developed CleanROM based on the previous version
Do you want stock, smooth and stable or more customisable risking stability?

No, offence to the developers of clean rom but I think you would be better of with Cyanogenmod 10. Also, their going to release Cyanogenmod 10.1 which is based of Android 4.2.

Just asking for an argument to start. Everyone has their own preference. The best way to see which one you think is best is to try both!

[Q] Launchers vs Custom ROMs

What is the difference between using a custom rom like Mildwild versus using a launcher with Cynanogenmod 7.2?
A launcher is just a simple app. It is only the "home screen." Non rooted users can install them
A custom ROM is a full OS, usually is tweaked to make the entire phone faster, have better battery life, more features etc.
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
If you don't feel up to the challenge of flashing a custom ROM, then a launcher is a nice alternative and can make a stock ROM seem much smoother (I know it sure did with my old Galaxy S), but a good custom ROM will always give you better results, as it has been tweaked with and most of the time will have all the junk stripped out of it.
Hope that tells you what you need to know
Hello in my opinion the difference in Launcers and Custom ROMs is high the developers of custom roms take features from other roms and they made one rom but there it have some bugs by the way they fix them. but Launchers is the official firmware in the device probably some lags but no bugs camera-sound-call and etc I prefer custom rom because is lighter than official one
Thanks guys
I'm running Mildwild now.
But Cyanogenmod (with a launcher) vs Mildwild? whats the difference?
Cyanogenmod is a full OS that I can run on my HTC desire, Mildwild is also a full OS? What does someone like Mildwild do to Cyanogenmod?
Sorry, I just don't get it.

Mildwild is a ROM, correct? I googled and found it is a ROM based off CM, so I'm guessing the developer took CM for your device, tweaked it a bunch, and released it under Mildwild (of course giving proper credits by saying it's based off CM).
Maybe that will clear it up for you

Just don't mix launchers with custom Roms!
They have a vast difference to be compared!
Simple eg :
Custom Rom can have launchers in it! Included
Launcher cannot have custom Rom in it!
Launcher is a small part!

I'm searching from some JB AOSP rom. Clean without any mod or tunning.
Yes, for S4.
What is the link?
Thanks.
Too many links to post but you got CM10&10.1, AOKP, Blackbean, DarkJelly.
But CM and others are tweaked roms. Not exist a clean & basic AOSP rom?

CM is the cleanest one you can get, nobody has done a pure AOSP rom and don't see much point in it myself but then I already find CM a bit plan anyway. Just give it a try you might just like it and it not like you have to use said tweaks.
Indeed, theres little to no point with a pure aosp roms. Hardly anyone wants that, it doesnt make any sense when the "tweaked" ones are so much better.
If you want a pure aosp rom, you'll probably have to build it yourself.
I'm running the latest CM10 nightly and like it. Too me, CM is the closest you'll get to pure AOSP without buying a Nexus. I recommend trying it out.

Thanks!
Is there any official or unofficial site to download AOSP roms? CM10.1 has laggy when touch, so frustrating...

Best Android 4.2 based STABLE rom?

As the title says. Had it but haven't unlocked for a long time. Looking for 4.2 rom.
My Nexus 10 is better than your tablet. Hah.
Cyanogen mod 6.1 is what you're probably looking for, fastest and most stable rom on the market!

Ive been running pacman for a while and its going really well as a daily driver for over a week now.
Sent from my unlocked VZW Galaxy S3
Also interested in this, had pacman but would loop crash system ui with some settings conflicting I guess. And then I couldn't find the "sweet spot". Tried liquid but had notification problems, some apps wouldn't appear in the status bar.
So for now back to CleanRom till I get time to test more.

I will have to try this, I am running Jellybeans 12 atm because I acutally like Touchwiz themed to look like AOSP, never really liked using the launchers like Nova etc (not sure why). I may try it out just to see what 4.2 has etc.
if it's the AOSP look you thrive for but ejjoy the TouchWiz ROM bean is perfect for that. however, if you decide you want to give another TW ROM a try, I personally run my own rom with my own theme, but I ported bean's theme to Team Synergy's ROM, and also CleanROM.
but for a 4.2.2 ROM my personal favorite is Liquid-RC1, Very stable for me good battery life, and has the most features from what I've ran.
If you would like to run a nice 4.1.2 AOSP ROM I highly suggest, either AOKP nov27 build. or ParanoidAndroid 2.5.6
Paranoid Android also has kick ass 4.2 ROM out, along with PAC ROM it's called, it combines the goodies from CM, Paranoid Android, and AOKP ROMS and put's it all into one. Great ROM, but since there's so many features, many are overlapping eachother, or simply are not enabled yet. BUT I still think it's a great ROM!

Hi guys just had a question that i hope some of you can help me with. I flashed PA 3.10 about 2 days ago and can't find my titanium backups. I have been unable to find them. My internal sd has had some crazy changes to the folders as well. Any Ideas?
