[Q] CyanogenMod 10 or Venoms - HTC Sensation

I am currently using venoms and i am curious about CyanogenMod 10 .
So i want someone who was using both roms to share his experience with them, what is better and what is worst.

Hi,
Read the [OP] of each one.
Better still, make a nandroid backup of your current ROM,and flash the ROM you are inquiring about.
You are the only one who can judge how good a ROM is.

I'm with you...

CyanogenMod 10 is undergoing rapid changes, sometimes newer builds break some function in older builds (e.g. mms). Hard to make conclusion based on that. Imo if you want stability, use ViperS as daily driver. Make nandroid backups of your ViperS before installing CM10, of course.

Matter of Personal Preference!
As our friend malybru said, you have to flash both ROMs then decide for yourself. I have flashed and tested many ROMs myself. Gotta admit it's a matter of personal preference after all.
I come from ARHD. Now I'm using bruce's CM10 Android 4.1.2 latest build (October 27, 2012). This "IS" by far the fastest, most complete, most advanced Custom ROM I have ever used. WIth V6 Supercharger and latest version of GApps, It's amazing how everything works perfect with this ROM.
As you already know, CM10 is an AOSP Based ROM, where m0narx's ViperS is Sense Based.
VipersS uses Android 4.0.3 ICS as it's core system + Sense UI 4.1. This is an amazing Sense Based ROM.
CM10 uses Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and it's PURE Android. IMO this one is more advanced and it's faster + I love AOSP UI.
Both ROMs get updates now and then, but again remember that CM10 is under ongoing development. So speaking of "Daily Driver" this might not be a wise choice, unless you like to test and experience.
Both ROMs are rooted and highly customizable. Flash both of them and you'll know.

[q] best custom rom for sony xperia arc s

What's the best custom rom for Sony Xperia arc S? I am using Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC2 actually, and I'm glad, but I would like to try something based on ICS. I have already tested Cyanogenmod 9, but it's very unstable and after few days for example Wi-Fi refused to get a dynamic adress. Could you suggest me some roms based on ICS? I want the rom to be fast, smooth and with overclock possibility. I have been using BoostHD rom for about 2 hours, but it didn't satisfy me.
There are no best rom. There are some ICS-themed roms avaidable, try one of those. On the page of the developer can you read the bugs. Try some roms in your phone's forum. But real ICS rom's are mostly not stable yet

sony has released the official ics for xperia s now, no custom roms are very stable yet, still to many bugs
I'm not gonna come back to the stock rom, because it's laggy and it simply sucks. So... Could you suggest me a ICS theme for Cyanogenmod? The one from Google Play developed by Sonny Sekhon isn't compatible with arc S.

I dont want to be mean but.. Have you watched the Noob on xda video when you registered? Because the guy there says that there are no best roms. This forum is about testing new things and finding out which one is the best for you.
According to him , you are lazy.
Cheers.
I am not damned lazy. I have already tried a lot of custom roms on arc S, but I don't know if there is a stable ics one. I just wanted to know your opinion. It thought you would suggest me something, but as I see there are on this forum buffoons only. You are a good example of such people.

I've used that, but it's laggy.
Because of the controversy and arguments they inevitably generate, "best ROM" threads are prohibited on XDA. Thread closed.

Samsung galaxy s plus - Installing new custom rom question

Hello members,
First of all I'm new here and my English can be a bit bad, sorry for that.
My question is probably already asked but I couldn't find it, a link to the thread will be helpful.
So what is the problem?
I want to install a custom rom but I don't really know how to do it.
First of all:
- I have an Samsung Galaxy S Plus.
- I want a Custom rom that is working properly and bug free for 99.9%
- I am not an complete noob, I know how to flash with Odin, Root my phone, etc. etc.
I have already done some research, but must I do a Hard Reset to install a new rom? Can I get my applications and personal settings back? (I made a back up) How do I get it back?
Which Custom rom's are almost bug free?
-Broodrom Rc5?
-Cranium Rc9?
- Others?
Thank you for helping me:good:,
At-
PS: Again sorry for the bad grammar.

Hi my friend. I also own a i9001.
1. There are some different kinds of roms. do you like Cyannomgen or Aokp based rom for 4.0.4 or a gingerbread rom (2.3.6) with launchers and kernels with overclock or underlock.
2. Gigabread is the best rom for me. It is 2.3.6. and it has every rom's best specs.
3. untill now has released CM9 build 7 and CM9 beta 2 by ivendor wich are very smooth and have fixed camera bugs ( not everything)
I dont like 2.3.6.custom roms with ics launcher because i think that they are heavy for our device and eat a lot of Ram memory....

I like both Cynagen and Aokp. I also like a rom based on 4.0.4 more than 2.3.6.
Can you tell me more about the different rom's and how to install them?
Every version of 4.0.4. is based on CM9 or aokp, but dev have put their own changes. And when there is a new version of cm9 or aokp they update their roms. If u want a rom based on i9300 I strongly recomend you Rem-ICS, a different 4.0.4 Paranoid. There are and some others roms, whicj I have not tried, but only minnor differences there are. Paranoid and Rem thre are th most famous and on other devices.
However there are a lot of option on Roms. Check them out at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1270
Installation of cm9 or aokp rom.
1. You will need custom recovery for cm9: twrp or CMW5 or CMW6
2. Wipe data and cache.
3. Flash update*.zip.
4. Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
5. Reboot phone.
6. After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Don't use titan back up.

Fist of all, read the wiki:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001
Then you have to install a custom recovery, you can follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776095
With this urls u will understand how dev is working. Inspite of the fact that they are for gingerbread they are very usesful for a beginer..
But cynomgen is very is to instal and to use..

I can really really recommend the CM9 ICS ROMs by arco and ivendor. Check their respective threads to see if the remaining bugs affect you and if they don't or hardly do use these versions instead of modded stock ROM.
I currently have arco's Alpha 7 installed and it's so much better than the Gingerbread Samsung firmwares, even the debloated ones.
I agree with you. I think that only gigabread is the best modifited 2.3.6. The others 2.3.6 use launchers like halo, go and I think that they are lagy.. So try a 4.0.4 and since the last edition of cm9 only fm radio is not working. Usb tethering is improved and 80% of camera is working...
However a bug is battery life, and if you use a lot wifi and 3g it will drain a lot of battery

Thank you guys, i'm going to install cm9!
Edit: What are the difference between cm 7.2 and 9? I can't see any differences on videos.
Cm 7.2 is stock based?
Cm9 is based on 4.0.4 and cm7 is based on 2.3.7. Install cm9.not cm7...

[Q] Rasbeanjelly

Everyone's talking about it and most devs are basing their ROMs to it.
What are the exact features of rasbeanjelly? there is a 10/28 rom update and i downloaded it.
I don't believe there's any rom based off Rasbeanjelly.
Try it and you'll see. It's the successor to Rascream and it's developed by rascarlo. The rom is meant to be very lightweight, based off AOSP with minimal mods to keep the stock feeling and experience while enhancing it a bit.

Strawberry and rasbeanjelly are 95% similar. I think Strawberry only has few mods more and different kernel. I would say, use any of these, they are both fast.

Best Android 4.2 based STABLE rom?

As the title says. Had it but haven't unlocked for a long time. Looking for 4.2 rom.
My Nexus 10 is better than your tablet. Hah.
Cyanogen mod 6.1 is what you're probably looking for, fastest and most stable rom on the market!

Also interested in this, had pacman but would loop crash system ui with some settings conflicting I guess. And then I couldn't find the "sweet spot". Tried liquid but had notification problems, some apps wouldn't appear in the status bar.
So for now back to CleanRom till I get time to test more.

I will have to try this, I am running Jellybeans 12 atm because I acutally like Touchwiz themed to look like AOSP, never really liked using the launchers like Nova etc (not sure why). I may try it out just to see what 4.2 has etc.
if it's the AOSP look you thrive for but ejjoy the TouchWiz ROM bean is perfect for that. however, if you decide you want to give another TW ROM a try, I personally run my own rom with my own theme, but I ported bean's theme to Team Synergy's ROM, and also CleanROM.
but for a 4.2.2 ROM my personal favorite is Liquid-RC1, Very stable for me good battery life, and has the most features from what I've ran.
If you would like to run a nice 4.1.2 AOSP ROM I highly suggest, either AOKP nov27 build. or ParanoidAndroid 2.5.6
Paranoid Android also has kick ass 4.2 ROM out, along with PAC ROM it's called, it combines the goodies from CM, Paranoid Android, and AOKP ROMS and put's it all into one. Great ROM, but since there's so many features, many are overlapping eachother, or simply are not enabled yet. BUT I still think it's a great ROM!

Chose stable custom rom for my sis

Hello people
My sister is considering flashind custom rom on her SGS Advance. And because I'm not familiar with Samsung devices (I have two Sony :>)
I would like to ask you to help me chose the most stable and fully functional custom ROM.
At the moment she has stock JB installed but it has some freezes and doesn't run very well.
What can you recommend? It doesn't have to be the nevest android.
I think I would chose between SkimKat 4.4, CyanogenMod 11 by Team Canjica and VanirAOSP 4.4.4. I know those are very good custom roms.
Can you tell me if there are any issues with those? like reboots, not working features?
If you say custom ROMs, there is no ROM which is bug free but there are stable ROMs.
Stability depends on how and what you use. All 4.4 ROMs have reached to a state where you can use them for daily use.
I am Using CM11 nightly 20140614 and dont have any problems.
All the ROMs have their dev and Q/A threads, you can check them for the most stable builds and the working/non working functionality.
Try the latest vanir aosp its fast, fluid and stable...
For me its the most stable rom yet
Well SlimKat seems to be bugless.
VanirAOSP has some bugs with SystemUI
Go for the slimkat(final). It's the smoothest, fastest rom for our phone.

CM 10.1
Wysłane z WOO-Phablecika 4.2.2...
Vanir is the best!
AOKP 4.2.2 by PV after uninstalling and reinstalling calendar is stable.
Wysłane z AOKP-fonika 4.2.2...
I'd have to go with Vanir. Everything just works and lag is virtually non-existent. The only downside I can see is slightly shorter battery life (could be just my phone though). One advantage that i love is it has it's own updater so it's not much of a hassle to get the latest fixes and improvements!
Another option for her would be to stay with stock JB bit change her kernel to CoCore.

@lozohcum : How old is she? She want a girl theme too?
After testing almost every ROM, i think that CM10.1 is the most stable(with good battery backup)...
Liquid smooth 3.2 smooth as liquid with all customizations
just battery backup is 15 to 17 hr is matter

Yeah, you should try this. Cm 10.1 is awesome!
I think u can choose between VanirAOSP or AOSP from j.team.. The last one is disscontinued but its 90% finished and 100% stable.
U can choose one of them, or, simpli, test both because testing is the only (exactly) way to know if ROM is for you (or sister).
See all!
