[Q] problem flashing cwm recovery - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hello all I'm new at this but every time i try to flash com recovery my phone freezes in fastboot usb mode or I get a message in cmd saying "failed remote disabled or something to that effect. Please help I'm getting frustrated. I've waited how long to be able to root this phone and I cannot. I have the boot loader unlocked am I missing something? Also have USB debugging on. So my question is how can I flash recovery without freezing or the like.

you need to do some reading ... CWM you should avoid like the plague install TWRP
read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957193

Thanks for the the warning but the same thing happens with twrp.

[Q] Bricked HTC One S

It started off with me rooting my phone and unlocking to bootloader to install a rom. The rom got stuck in a loop at the htc logo so i tried using the recovery in cwm to bring it back to the stock, only my sd card wasnt being found. Ive been reading random things and different parts from different situations and im not sure what ive done tbh.
So the current situation is i cant access cwm i get some weird symbol with a phone and some red symbol across it. I can access fastboot though. Ive tried the ruu thing but i get an error of it not being able to update, from what i believe its because the rom is a higher version than the ruu and ive been unable to find a higher version. The version i have is for 1.84.531.2 and what is on my phone is 1.84.6 something. Not sure where to go from here, any help is appreciated
Edit: Ive also tried flashing the stock boot.img using fastboot flash but i get a signature error or something.
Re-flash recovery, then install ROM. Then fastboot flash boot boot.IMG!

Edit Numero 2: I tried fastboot flashing a boot.img and i keep getting a message in the command prompt saying <remote: signature verify fail>.

Hasoon 2000-help-

Hey guy's
I tried to root my HTC one S but after I unlocked the bootloader (boot loader is now UnLocked) , I couldn't run the SuperSu zip file because When I
open the recovery it shows a red message saying:
"this build is for development purposes only do not distribute outside htc with out htc write permission failure to comply my lead to legal action ."
i cant do nothing else with the device,he's stuck on that massage ":this build...."
all i can do is go to recovery mod and that's about it,cant find nor open the supersu zip file
does any one know what to do to repair this?
It sounds like you didn't flash a custom recovery. If you can get back into the bootloader go to fastboot and do that.

dude,i dont understand why your'e saying "put it on sdcard" i dont have a slot for an sdcard it's the one s
and if your'e meaning to the sdcard folder;I cant get inside there too..
the only thing that works for me is the bootloader and hasoon 2000.
Dude...where you drag and drop files from your computer is considered sd card as you can clearly read!!! Hasoon2000 is a person btw.
But seriously, If you're having these issues you don't need to root. Honestly after ics there really isn't any point . If you know what you are doing then maybe you are stuck in your ways, but if you don't there really isn't any point considering you are asking the same exact question that has been asked nearly every day....

Honestly, I turned my one S into a shiny sleek paperweight for about 2 hours because I came from devices that all had S-off so I was used to just dropping the zip on there and flashing it. Long story short I didn't fast boot the boot.img til the 3rd try or so.
Hello,
I just unlocked my phone (HTC Amaze 4G - T-Mobile- ICS) and when I go in to bootloader, it shows it unlocked, but I can't seem to fine SuperUser or get it on there using Hansoon2000's tool kit. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. I just switched from an iPhone and I'm new to Android.
Thanks!

[Q] [help] HTC One X wont boot

Ok guys im pretty new here and im not sure weather this is the right spot to post this.
Anyway, i think i messed up. after rooting my phone successfully and proceeded to install cyanogenmod on it. how ever i saw a guide that said nothing about installing a backup program like clockwork mod.
So now i have a phone that when turned on will only go to the htc boot screen and stay there. or when i press the volume and power button it will go to the HBOOT? (white screen with colored writing that) screen.
What do i do??

Install twrp 2.6 for the evita...
Fastboot flash recovery "filename.img" then fastboot erase cache
Then reboot into bootloader and select recovery.
Now you can flash a rom
Don't flash anything other than what you find in this forum or you will brick your phone. If unsure about what your flashing post the complete filename and someone here can verify it's for your phone.

yeah that's correct. i should have watched more guides my bad. Anyway can someone link me a download/ guide link to this TWRP thing
There isn't really a guide, you can just download it here. Put it in your fastboot folder and issue the following commands:
fastboot flash recovery "filename.img"
(Whatever the exact recovery filename is)
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now you can select recovery from your phone screen.
It seems to me that you're in way over your head with this stuff though. You need to do a lot more reading before you really do anything. Check out this guide. Everything you really need is listed there.

EDIT: Did run into an issue, when attempting to flash a new ROM it gave me an error "status 7" stating that the rom was tagged as for an "m4", but the device read as an " " from recovery. Backup and restore seems to work just fine though, so I restored from nandroid.
Just remove asserts from updater script. You probably tried flashing cm11 and the rom doesnt work.

You cant? try not booting from recovery just power down and then reboot. ive found that to work with s-off and unlocked. ive heard of many talking about this problem.lol i aint had it?
Sorry, I didn't explain properly.....
The issue is that I can't boot my ROM with s-off and an unlocked bootloader - just boot loops, it's a known issue.
I'd have to unlock the bootloader to flash your recovery, but then my ROM won't boot. As your recovery doesn't have a terminal emulator built in like TWRP has, I have no way of relocking the bootloader (I would execute ./revone -l ) so ROM can't boot.....
