Unless you are using A GB Sense ROM, don't change your RIL. That's only for Sense ROMs GB and below.
I am using a sense Rom bro I found a ril 2.2....18 that give me an outrageous boost on signal, especially at work an in my apartment which were or use to be two dead zones for me, use to have to go outside to use the phone

I found matching ril 12.69 for my 12.69 radio I had the 2.2???18.zip gave me massive boost but it wasn't letting me receive any mms , it would tell me sim is not available please insert sim, don't know why but I took it as a sign that ril don't belong in my phone

YES!! new radio 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M working ok (wifi, 2g/3g ...) with RIL: 2.2.1003G.
Signal level at least as good as with 26.09.04.11_M2.
Battery drain need more test....
=> No risk, you can go and test yourself !!
Enjoy
radio working great. Battery life seems to be a bit better, better signal strength.
Excuse me, but what is this thread for?? Is there a rom some where or what?? Cause if it's only a comment thread it should be moved to general section..
Cheers.

Hey, im running 3.1 of Android Revolution HD on my new 4g Sensation and I don't seem to have 4g access ever since I've rooted my phone. Beforehand on stock there was a little plus next to my mobile data symbol but now its gone.
The speed test app also showed lackluster results, my download speed was like 534kb while upload was around 700 kb.
I am assuming there is an easy solution to this, maybe turn it on in settings or something. (I just checked the 4g coverage for my area and apparently I have 21 mbps download speeds.)
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!!!
(I am with Bell Aliant in Canada by the way)
May depend on the radio you have installed. Just something every user has to play with. H is also the same thing as 4G with t-mobile. You also cant go according to what they say you can get either. It's all in the hspa+/4G dispute.
Ohhhhh, yes it must be the radio then. Why does the Developer of Revolution HD recomend using the radio listed with his rom? Apparently I lost 4 g access by installing it.
So, by uninstalling it and reinstalling my old radio I should regain 4g access right?
Also, what downfalls are there to using a stock radio?
Thanks!

Not necessarily, the radio that Mike recommends with his ROM is the same radio that is coming with the OTA update from T-Mobile.
I would check to see what your RIL is, I bet it is 162 and you may want to change it to 169 and see if that helps first.
Wouldn't using non-matching ril file cause problems? Can you post the command to check what ril you have for reference please?

Mike's ROM by default has RIL 169 but when it runs the script to see if your phone is t-Mobile 4G or not it changes the RIL to 162 if it is a t-mobile 4G and leaves it at 169 if it is not a t-mobile 4G.
To check to see what RIL you have run getprop "gsm.version.ril-impl" in Terminal Emulator or adb shell and it will print out the RIL version!
Nice. I have 162 but have a tmous 4G sensation. I have the radio in his op so is it ok to run that radio with the 169 ril?

Yes it is, the default RIL in his ROM is 169 and when it senses you have a T-Mobile 4G is switches it to RIL 162. I ran 162 for a while then switched to 169 and am trying it out today.
Cool. Thanks. Will try as well

hi!
im using ARHD 3.6.13 with the recommended radio.
i moved to a new house and now i get very low signal or no signal.
i thought it my cel company problem, but when i have friends or family come over and they use the same company they got full reception.
any ideas what i can do to fix this issue? change kernel? radio?
any help will be great
thank you!
any help here?
sorry for bumping but i really can use some help here
It is most probably a radio issue. What radio version are you using? And did you check if the corresponding RIL are flashed correctly?
What about wifi reception? Is it causing you trouble too?

wifi working great
im using the recommended radio which is suggested in the arhd topic.
is there something i can do to try and make this better?
The recommended radio is not always suitable for everyone. It depends on many factors like geographic location, network provider... I would suggest that you flash the radio that you were using before arhd and give it a try.

You must determine the radio that went with your old ROM (I assume stock). So look on the stock ROM index sticky in the development forum for your phone. Find out with stock RUU you would have (likely region/carrier related), and flash the radio that is meant for it.

Also please install the RILInfos_1.1.apk attached below and run it and post ur current radio and RIL version respectively.
HI everyone,
I recently trie to put the ROM OAKP on my device HTC Sensation XE. THe setupd did'nt work, so I put a backup that I done. But now I can't call or send sms. I have "service Limited" on the phone. I tried to set up different ROMS (HD REVOLUTION, OrDroid) but I still occure the same probleme. I update the firmwire and the Radio, but nothing solve the problem
Does any one have a solution ?
Regards,
Edit___
After few search I found that the Rom which gave me trubl is a ROM for Galaxy S2
then, when I do simlock from the bootloader I have : MCCMNC file fail / CID file fail
I have alread flashed new radio (a lot), new firmware and new rom
I can't call or text but I have the data
I had lost my data about a week ago.
How I fixed mine was by using one of the generic ics (4.0.3) radio with matching RIL file. I know you said you tried radio and ril but if you don't get the correct radio and ril it won't work. Have you tried the generic ics radio with matching RIL file? This is how I restored my data. Hopefully this helps you. Best wishes. Give that a try and you can find the generic ics radio and matching ril by searching.. hopefully this fixes your issue. I believe there Are about 7 generic ics radios with matching ril files. It takes some searching but you will find them. This worked right Away for me, hopefully it will work for you As well.

If you scroll down you will find a link to mirrors for the ics radio/ril files, this mirror leads to the ics radio/ril files as for the exact one for you, you must experiment because we all live in different areas so this you will have to discover which one is correct by trying them. But the link for their mirror is on that link. Hope this helps you out! Just scroll down and read and it will say mirror for ics radio. I hope this works .

If you scroll all the way down just before the gingerbread radios you will see the link to the ics mirrors. It's right above the beginning of the gingerbread files. Above where it says spoils or the spoils button just before gingerbread radio. Hope this helps. Look closely before the gingerbread and you will find link to mirrors ...it's posted by a man with P in his name. So your going to see the name first then the link to the mirrors.

How I know which one is the good for me ?
You need to just try them and see which restores your data! What works well for me might not work well in your area so give them a try . Please keep me posted!
I'm using the newest one, I believe the July 2nd. Date is on it. That's my radio. Try and see if it works for you. But we are in different Areas so you might have to try others as well.

Not in the folder with all the Radio.
Because you have a folder with all the RIL and a lot of folder for the differents radio
You might want to ask on the radio forum then because I'm not sure if not together they might be interchangeable but that I'm not sure of its best to ask on radio forum. Wish I could be of more help.

So I'm on arhd base 3.33
I flashed bricked 1.4 and my data stopped working.
Reflashed fauxes 8 and it works again.
Suggestions ?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G with Beats Audio using xda app-developers app
If you want bricked and have the data issue with it you can try different radio and ril combo to see if any of those will bring back the data connection.just remember what your running now so it that does not work you can just go back to what radio and ril that does work and use faux. Try the generic ics radio and ril combos. I lost data myself by flashing a recommended radio for a specific Rom but was able to bring it back with a generic ics radio/ril combo. Worked like a charm. I'm thinking this might also work for you. It's worth a try . Sometimes it takes a try of a few different radio/ril combos before you find the correct one for your area . Hope this helps. Best wishes
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
I have to agree here. A new radio / RIL combo should fix your problem. If not, it may be the kernel. If that's the case, my best advice is to full wipe (nand backup first ) and to try a different ROM. You'll know then whether or not it is the kernel or the radio.
Hope this helps.

I'm us T-Mobile also. When I switched radios I just used a generic ics radio and ril. What happened to me was I first flashed a recommended radio file for a Rom I was running, well I lost all data at that point.so I needed to restore my radio and ril. I found the generic ics radio and ril files and used the newest one. I was up and running again with a great signal!when you change your radio don't forget the ril file. I was happy my radio was better than ever! No problems at all. I believe there were approximately 5-7 generic ICS radio ril files. When you change you flash the radio in bootloader like any pg58img file, and don't forget to delete it when your finished or it will continuously try to update. Flash the ril the regular way you flash a Rom. The pg58img radio file goes on the root of sd card then go to your boot loader by taking out battery putting it back in pressing power and volume down at the same time, the device will recognise the update and ask to proceed, press power for yes then it will update and flash the radio ,then delete the file. I hope I've helped you out. Best wishes.
