Hey, im running 3.1 of Android Revolution HD on my new 4g Sensation and I don't seem to have 4g access ever since I've rooted my phone. Beforehand on stock there was a little plus next to my mobile data symbol but now its gone.
The speed test app also showed lackluster results, my download speed was like 534kb while upload was around 700 kb.
I am assuming there is an easy solution to this, maybe turn it on in settings or something. (I just checked the 4g coverage for my area and apparently I have 21 mbps download speeds.)
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!!!
(I am with Bell Aliant in Canada by the way)
May depend on the radio you have installed. Just something every user has to play with. H is also the same thing as 4G with t-mobile. You also cant go according to what they say you can get either. It's all in the hspa+/4G dispute.
Ohhhhh, yes it must be the radio then. Why does the Developer of Revolution HD recomend using the radio listed with his rom? Apparently I lost 4 g access by installing it.
So, by uninstalling it and reinstalling my old radio I should regain 4g access right?
Also, what downfalls are there to using a stock radio?
Thanks!

Not necessarily, the radio that Mike recommends with his ROM is the same radio that is coming with the OTA update from T-Mobile.
I would check to see what your RIL is, I bet it is 162 and you may want to change it to 169 and see if that helps first.
Wouldn't using non-matching ril file cause problems? Can you post the command to check what ril you have for reference please?

Mike's ROM by default has RIL 169 but when it runs the script to see if your phone is t-Mobile 4G or not it changes the RIL to 162 if it is a t-mobile 4G and leaves it at 169 if it is not a t-mobile 4G.
To check to see what RIL you have run getprop "gsm.version.ril-impl" in Terminal Emulator or adb shell and it will print out the RIL version!
Nice. I have 162 but have a tmous 4G sensation. I have the radio in his op so is it ok to run that radio with the 169 ril?

Yes it is, the default RIL in his ROM is 169 and when it senses you have a T-Mobile 4G is switches it to RIL 162. I ran 162 for a while then switched to 169 and am trying it out today.
Cool. Thanks. Will try as well

yeah i know that is one thread about radios but my many of the radios that are in the desire HD section are not in the inspire 4G sections and that is what i am asking... if those radios that are not in the radio inspire 4g section could be used with my inspire?
Short answer: maybe.
The whole point of the Inspire radio thread was to confirm which of the many possible radios available for the inspire/DHD can be confirmed to work specifically with the Inspire.
Any word on whether or not the new radio 12.59.60.26U_26.11.04.21_M for the DHD works on the inspire yet? The radio thread hasnt been updated yet.
EDIT: Nevermind, the thread has been updated now and the radio works flawlessly.
I have yet to see a problem with any DHD radio on my Inspire4g. It's android man. As long as you are flashing it the safe way with a zip file through HBOOT and not engie s-off through fastboot there really isn't much that can go wrong. Try it, see if it works for you, if it doesn't then flash something else.

This is not correct, things can still go wrong even when flashing the safe way. That is why none of the developers or modders will claim responsibility if the end user breaks something.
I believe I said "there isn't much that can go wrong" not "IT'S TOTALLY SAFE!"
I would consider a bricked phone more than "a little going wrong". It is a possibility, and it shouldn't be downplayed or taken lightly.
How can I determine the version of radio that is currently installed? I tried the HBOOT method with the Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2.zip file and I am not sure it worked, because my Inspire 4G seems to just be an Inspire now... I don't get 4G connects any more.

If you installed a custom ROM that is not based on the inspire you will not see the H+ anymore. Does not mean you are not getting the same connection.
To see your radio version just go to settings > about phone > software information and it is listed in the Baseband version.
Ok...so I just came from the Vibrant...so I'm new to this. Please be nice. lol. Anyways...I've tried two roms now on the HTC Sensation 4g first the Revolution HD Rom then the Coredroid rom. Both roms aren't identifying my phone as the 4g model rather the original Sensation. I cannot find where to correct this. Please help.

Can you shed a bit more info on what you mean. I suspect you see your phone in phone identity as either a z710e or z710a, is that correct?
Whenever I try to flash both roms during the flash via CWR the installer says "sensation detected no sensation 4g files installed." Then when it boots up I go to check the phones ID and sure enough it's z710e.

ok, What version of CWR are you using. It should be the blue 4.0.1.4.
Are you also doing a full wipe before flashing?
Will try and work with you on this.
From my understanding the Z710e is the 4G model.
Using the CWR 4014 blue version. And yes doing complete and full wipe each time...I just reinstalled Coredroid and now the phone ID is showing sensation 4g but the build.prop file isn't showing the 4g files. I'm so lost. :/
That's because both of those Roms use European WWE Roms as a base, if you want your phone is to be identified as the sensation 4g on those Roms you have to edit your build prop, or flash a tmobile base custom ROM.....

Yes, all the roms here will work with Tmobile 4g speeds.
But remember some roms will have a H instead of 4g symbol in the status bar but you are still getting 4g speeds, but most roms have an addon zip to change it to a 4g icon.
So basically the phone is still 4g capable and uses 4g just doesn't show it under the build.prop files? Now another question is this, the files that are suppose to be for the 4g model from that rom...how do I get those installed? The installer isn't id my phone as 4g so it's not installing the 4g files.

hi!
im using ARHD 3.6.13 with the recommended radio.
i moved to a new house and now i get very low signal or no signal.
i thought it my cel company problem, but when i have friends or family come over and they use the same company they got full reception.
any ideas what i can do to fix this issue? change kernel? radio?
any help will be great
thank you!
any help here?
sorry for bumping but i really can use some help here
It is most probably a radio issue. What radio version are you using? And did you check if the corresponding RIL are flashed correctly?
What about wifi reception? Is it causing you trouble too?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda premium
wifi working great
im using the recommended radio which is suggested in the arhd topic.
is there something i can do to try and make this better?
The recommended radio is not always suitable for everyone. It depends on many factors like geographic location, network provider... I would suggest that you flash the radio that you were using before arhd and give it a try.

You must determine the radio that went with your old ROM (I assume stock). So look on the stock ROM index sticky in the development forum for your phone. Find out with stock RUU you would have (likely region/carrier related), and flash the radio that is meant for it.

I am looking into the roms available to determine which radio you were on. Can you please tell me which rom u were running before flashin ARHD ?
Also please install the RILInfos_1.1.apk attached below and run it and post ur current radio and RIL version respectively.
Is there a way possible to change the phones modem? i been reading that some people have flashed new modems to improve signal strength
That's radios, modems are for the Samsung.

Unless you are using A GB Sense ROM, don't change your RIL. That's only for Sense ROMs GB and below.
I am using a sense Rom bro I found a ril 2.2....18 that give me an outrageous boost on signal, especially at work an in my apartment which were or use to be two dead zones for me, use to have to go outside to use the phone

Like I said, only use a RIL for a pre-ICS Sense ROM.
This is for all the people using the hox on tmobile. Which radio have you guys tried using? ive seen a couple post about using the htc one s radio but I cant seem to find an answer to which radio or exactly how to install it. I already have a general idea on how to flash a new radio but this is a little different and just looking for some info from people that have already flashed a HOS radio onto a HOX.
I just want to get the best speed off tmobile. I've been doing speed tests next to a galaxy s3 on tmobile and it has been getting a lot better speed than I can even though we are both on HSPA+.
This is the radio I use I get LTE and great speeds. You can find that radio and more options in the Radio thread under android development.

I'm guessing you are using a sense base rom from the radio you are using. Is that correct? Wait....I just check to see what radio I'm using and it is (0.24p.32.09.06_10.130.32.34L) which is for flashing on sense base, but I'm using liquidsmooth rom which is AOSP. I'm so confused as to what radio I can or cannot actually flash. If I can flash the radio that you linked, do I have to flash the RIL as well? Sorry for all the questions. I always seem to get confused about flashing radios.
And to make things worst, we're using a phone meant for ATT on tmobile flashing radio that are meant for ATT.

Can't say anything about the T-Mobile radio, but I can say this much:
Sense radios should work fine on AOSP ROMs. They might just not yield the best reception or battery life. But I don't think AOSP radios will work on Sense ROMs (not sure on this).
I just got this phone and am also using T-Mobile with straight talk. Just changed the APN settings and I do get 3G and HSPA on T-Mobile. I am going to try it out for a few days around here( Dallas). If I don't like it I will simply use a straight talk sim.
Beautiful phone.
