Hey everyone. This is a port of NRGZ28's Energy ROM for the EVO. You can read the original post here.
This is my first successful Sense port. I used MikRunny as the base for the original port of this. Later builds I used newRUNNY and I've tried to make this as close to the original ROM as possible.

This has Drob311's kernel. The default clock settings are 1.5 max, 245 min, Performance. I recomend dropping the clock to 1.2 max and interactive as the govener.

1 Wallpaper grid preview is broken
I've had a few bugs when using a2sd. (Fixed "Sense" 1-5-13)
I've had some lag issues with this.
3-27-2013 (Fixed!) Somehow when fixing the phantom vm text alert issue I broke the weather app. All of the widgets and apps that use it still work but when you try to access the weather app itself, it FCs. I'll look into what the problem is when I get more time.
Here is something that I have found useful with lag on GB.

*It is important to note that there may be additional issues I don't know about and as I am a truck driver, not a programmer I may or may not be able to fix things.
Everyone is encouraged to do what ever you like with anything I post.
Instructions:
DL to PC and move to root of sd card.
Boot into recovery and make a Nandroid (Backup)
Wipe dalvic cache 3x,
Format system 3x,
Format sdext, data, and cache,
DO NOT FORMAT THE SD CARD!!!!!!!
Wipe data factory reset 3x.
Flash and enjoy.
Note: Most of the time it will reboot once during the first flash then load normally.

Fixed the phantom vm text issue and changed the pull down notification menu to white so its easier to see. I put the old Energy Tweeks back in favor of Dread's control pannel. If anyone wants it back I can make a flashable patch no problem.

I've used newRUNNY to help stabilize some issues. Updated and modified some apps and added Strapped365's 4.0 skin/clock mod (Called Music Lover). Thanks Strapped!! This version has Drob's newSENSE kernel. I tried to switch from Superuser to SuperSU but I just couldn't get it stable enough. The only issue I've had while testing has been some of the sense widgets don't want to get onto the home screen the first try but they do stick eventually. When flashing, the ROM will boot and get to the lock screen. When you unlock it you will see the home screen and then it will go back to the splash screen. This is just the ROM messing with you. It is not a boot loop! Just wait and it will come back and load normally. I really like it and hope you all will too.

I'm still learning how to port so I doubt I'd be a good teacher. I used the guide I linked to above but there are still a lot of additional things that I had to edit to get it right. I'll be glad to help if I can.

Any bugs or other issues besides no 4g or the wallpaper preview? Does everything else work? And I'm assuming since this is a port an sense 3.5 then the homescreen orientation doesn't change when sliding out the keyboard right?

Home Screen Orientation does not change when you slide out the Keyboard, because it's Sense 3.5 . Wallpaper Preview does not work for you ? Any other issues ? Did you do a Full Wipe before Flashing ? As described in THIS Guide ?

Did you check the Weather Settings Update Interval ? Also for the Weather Updates to work correctly, it's best you have GPS turned on all the time. I know a lot of people turn it off to save Battery. But it does affect some functions when you do that.
Yea I had GPS on. I checked the update interval in "accounts and sync" and it was set correctly. But, in the weather settings the "scheduled sync" and "update interval" options are unavailable.

Oh, I have noticed that when someone leaves me a voicemail, I get a text message and an alert. I remember seeing this happening in other threads with a fix. I'll be looking into it. If anyone already knows the fix please let me know.

EDIT: I used the A2SDGUI included in the Rom. All is still working correctly.
I initially activated a2sd via terminal without enabling zipalign at boot. It started acting up after a while (no kiding) before I realized what I'd done. I used the app to enable zipalign at boot, rebooted and it's been fine since except for the weather issue when traveling. I'll do a fresh install useing the app instead of terminal later. I expect that'll fix it.

Here is the new version of my modifications. I have also decided to keep the main look 'stock' with espresso bar. I am mostly going to be doing metamorphs for the themes from now on instead of making over 9000 flashable zips. Im sure this was part of our 2.1 corruption too mixing / matching apks from differnet rom verisons for themes metamorph just injects the pngs into the zip file so it seems a bit safer.
This is based off of damageless's release. I am OK with releasing it now because i got his blessings - The scene wouldnt be the same without him, thanks damaged. I left his update tool in here because were working on getting this in his updater/porting some of my changes up to his. Stay tuned --Looks like 2.07 already has some of my changes in it-- Glad to help out damageless

Before Flashing remove all widgets from homescreen for best results. Also delete /sdcard/Backup/Hero200/ if it exists- ive seen some wierd stuff with settings backups from other roms. Wipe dalvik after flashing. Should be nowipe.

-if you have issues with battery or awake time being 100% dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to Battery history -> Partial wake usage. See whats #1 and report back with how you go thtere. (this will not work in some other roms that removed certain apks)
-If your Rosie goes to HTC screen each time make sure spare parts has activity/process management set to normal.
-if you dont see animations or the animations are SLLOOOW go to spare parts Window animations -> full, Transition animations -> fast.

I just flashed zip & metamorph, this is awesome. My gps location finally work. You still have smallest filesizes & best performance even over regaw mod! I got 27fps in neocore too, WOW
EDIT- you also have MULTITOUCH GALLERY!! My hero would b prfect if u got the gallery camera working...

Just checked it out, its dying because it cannot find intent com.android.camera/com.android.camera.Camera from androidmanifest.xml I think its because our camera apk is different than stock android. I havent had much luck editing HTC xml but maybe gallery3d can be edited to call something different, ill look into it...

Sorry guys havent been too attentive to this, been working with damageless getting some of this stuff into his ROM so i can work on more tweaks/themes instead of supporting a separate update. It looks like so far he has taken some of the /etc/permission changes, optimizations & hexedits. I spoke with him and my build.prop changes will be making there way up soon...
His rosie w/ LWP is not in this ZIP natively - http://www.4shared.com/file/U8P__xf8/Rosie.html is the rosie.apk I optimized, just push it to /system/app (make sure your homescreen is saved first) This is in the curved rosie look iirc, use the metamorph to get back to espresso.
Keep poking around this thread & damageless one though, ive got some good stuff im sure noones seen before coming soon.

2 questions
1. i flashed this rom from and get stuck in a boot loop goes from the quietly brilliant screen to the sprint sprite screen then back to the quietly brilliant screen .. and repeats ... ive wiped both davilk and data/cache and still have this problem .. restored back to my stock 1.5 and wiped then flashed .. still no luck i really wanna run this rom .. ive been running the 2.5 version and just wanna update to take advantage of the new optimizations ...
2 if i do get this running and then use the dc updater will it still keep the expresso and other mods that Trev has made or will it just change it to the DC 2.7 rom ?

Inspire base with a lot of sense ripped out(almost all of it). Removed most sense apps and all sense widgets. Replaced some of the sense apps with the AOSP equivalent. This will hold some over hopefully until there is a true aosp rom, or for those who still want the inspire base, but without resource hogging sense.
This is getting its own thread since it will be maintained/updated separately from my other rom.
note- if you wanna flash a different kernel
not all kernels are compatible with fugu mods(credit to nikademus-i9000 forum for the initial find)- ask your kernel dev if the kernel is compiled with config_oabi_compat. if its not, it could cause issues and youll lose your bootanimation. FWIW, it will boot without that config, but its recommended for full compatibility)

Going from sense to non sense its best a full wipe is a good idea.

Will this fix come in the form of a flashable patch, or a complete recompile of the rom? Only asking, because I'm at 80% download on my phone now, and I have no idea how to set these permissions as mentioned. haha.
How much of "Sense" remains in this ROM? The ROM looks slick and I'd like it try it but I despise Sense so I'd like to not be reminded of it.
Set them with root explorer(easiest way if you don't know chmod/adb)
It will be a flashable zip. It's a simple fix really, just didn't double check last night since it was 4am when I uploaded.
To change permissions with root explorer just long press on item/apk that you want to change, and click permissions and change.

Pretty much just a few default apks that I think are decent. Sense framework is still there, but nothing really visible.
A sense Rom is around 275mb or so, I've cut off over 100mb or sense ish, and ill find more to remove
As time goes on ill remove more and more, this is a good start though.

It runs very smooth. There are some apps that need to be taken out (verizon specific ones; voicemail for instance) though, but thats why there's a WIP tag...I'm not going to do much until I get a PM response from original creator. When/if I get a green light, I'll change more stuff out and upload another (more sprint) release.
You will likely get all these questions, so I am going to ask you right now (that the thread is small and legible)

I took a look at this rom earlier on when Clark requested it but I figured it was a waste of time because I thought no one was going to help out.
Glad to see people like you on here! Will subscribe to this thread as I too wish that you get the green light on this....

Everything works except 4G. There isn't an option to turn on 4G, so that's that I guess lol.
I'm assuming this is a CM7 base rom with a rosie hacked onto it, or is it a Sense base with CM7 features added? It looks half and half to me.

I took on the request as a challenge, because I've never had any luck with making/porting ROMS, so this is really the first ROM I've ever made/ported successfully!

I think is sense with CM7 features.......that's what I got from reading the original thread BUT I could be wrong...lol

Either way I like it. Looks smooth as hell. Perfect amount of eye candy vs. functionality. First ROM I'd flash in a while that I'd actually want to use for an extended period of time.

Its more of a sense-based with CM7 features added.
On a Side Note:
Clark44 is downloading it now, as I made the port originally per his request, so we'll see what kind of feedback he gives once he flashes.
Please no one PM me/clark for the download link because I'm trying to respect original dev's request for anyone who uses his work to get permission before releasing any downloads publically

lol totally off topic but is there a kitchen to port these roms ? to the evo ? a guide ? etc etc id love to learn
OK guys real quick before you download. this is a rom that i built for 4 devices evo included of course. now i dont have a evo and this is my first time building a rom for it, but all in all it works great and very stable for doing it blind. now you all know aamikam we work together on a lot of stuff and this is one of the things we are working on together... the rom that is up right now is only my work but he is working on some things for it as i type and i will be updating to his version, and we will update as we fix and optimize things as usual.....
so a little info on what this rom is... it is based off of HTC Runnymede with sense 3.5 and gingerbread 2.3.5. it has a lot of new features plus it looks awesome atleast in my opinion.... the runnymede has a wvga display so nothing needed to be resized which is great some of you will think that things look big but they are not you are just used to the modded sized roms to fit our screen....

Hopefully you dont. I've been running a rough build for almost 2 weeks and and delayed launch for several days making sure it was ready and I wasn't finding any bugs.
Ummmm why do we need to install the lithium zip then the updater zip? what happens if we dont run the updater zip?
Just want clarification, I have done a CWM backup and im just waiting to hear your answer before flashing your rom
You wont get the inverted settings. This was a pain in the $$$ and the only way to do it was this way. No matter what I tried the app would not install at boot unless done this way.

If you have an MB865 you'll be fine. I will check into adding some international support but it will be a couple of days

Well it seems super responsive, nice boot animation. Everything seems to work.
Bugs I found:
Battery meter is not accurate, I was using it and it went down to 95%, then I went to the kitchen to get a drink and came back to have the battery at 100%. So either the battery mod isnt accurate or I have a self energy regenerating battery
Perfect Applock seems to be in a constant service bootloop. It does this with yours, stock deodexed and Supercharged rom. Pity, oh well, I use this app to protect ppl from using apps I don't want them to use. Guess Ill go back to VictoryRom.

Give the phone time to settle. I have yet to see any issues with the battery. As far as your app. Remove the CWM on boot and I can just about guarantee it will work for you
