[highlight]I will probably update this less frequently, maybe once or twice a month. I no longer use my Evo 4G.[/highlight]​
LeWa ("Happy/Funny Frog") comes to us from China and is a MIUI-inspired ROM based on CyanogenMod 7. It's an incredibly lightweight ROM made primarily for yesteryear devices comparable in specifications to our Evo 4Gs. Don't let its sub-100 MB size fool you, though. It's still filled to the brim with features, such as built-in power and battery management, CPU control, and memory clearing. I can confidently recommend LeWa for daily use.
This ROM is stable out of the box. I try to keep my modifications to a minimum and stick to the spirit of the original work.

Tips
- Double-tapping the lock icon on the lock screen will bring up music controls.
- Press volume-down and menu at the same time to take a screenshot.
- Pressing on the data usage statistics in the notification panel will bring you to a screen where you can slide to the right to change your "Monthly data limit."
- Pressing the green orb in the notification panel will kill all open apps. Holding it will bring up its whitelist. (You likely want to add your input methods (Swype, Swiftkey, etc) to this.)
- You may put *.apk files in /sdcard/APK/ to have them automatically install when flashing the ROM.
- If you're a chatterbox, be sure to turn on SMS splitting in Message Settings.
This is a pretty solid ROM. Its official versions are released for both MDPI and HDPI devices, and most of the devices that LeWa supports are on the weaker side of the hardware specification spectrum. As such, there should not be any lag or resource issues with the Evo 4G. Indeed the vanilla ROM weighs in at ~75 MB and with my additions, it weighs in at ~95 MB.

- s8perman confirms that this ROM works with a2sd.
- Backlight is activated on incoming message, and there doesn't appear to be a way to disable that functionality.
- RockoDev Beats Audio can be added by downloading and flashing "ICS & GB BeatsAudio"

So what kernels play nice with is ROM?

Looks cool and really fast as well. However, i can't seem to download themes so i modded the default one. Still changing and adding some stuff to it. If anyone has been able to download a complete theme, can you please share the file here with me so i can see what i can do with it? Here's what i did so far except status bar..

You know what? That's one thing I haven't really tested. I've used Mason kernel with it, and that seems to work fine. I haven't tested beyond that, though. I'd expect that any kernel that works with CM7 will work with this.

It's the second one with the CM nightly and LeWa 12.6.8. The experimental one will always be more updated.
I'm avoiding more traditional terms like "beta," "final," etc. because those generally indicate stability. The experimental release isn't necessarily less stable than the primary release. It's simply less tested. For all I know, it might offer more as far as stability goes.

How about a2sd? can I flash the a2sd zip by darktremor or no support for a2sd?

I've never messed with a2sd (although I know what it is). I will have to look into it. Does CM7 work with a2sd out of the box?

I did and it worked!

I got it on it, my tablet won't read the hotspot it says (finding ip address) and I can't see my apps lol but other than that its great!

Havent tested hotspot but for the apps i found this odd as well, there is no app drawer which i know from MIUI but i couldnt find them on the screens either. Somehow i stumbled upon edit your screen then at the bottom it will say shortcut and you can scroll through your apps and add them to the homescreen. Or just switch launchers and youll get an app drawer.
EDIT: just tried hotspot using the built in utility and I am getting the same error, unable to actually establish an internet connection.
Are you running papa smurf scripts? I am, just so OP has an idea if its the rom or scripts if you arent using them its a ROM issue.

Hey Guys this is my first public rom build so please go easy, I'm sure it will have bugs just like everyone else's and It might take me a little longer to get them squashed but I promise to do my best to get them resolved. Ok on to the good stuff.
First off I must think scrosler for his help with all my questions and for providing the 2.23 base that I worked with, Also Need to think Turge for allowing me to use his EQS Menu and some help with the smali editing. the camcorder seems to be working.....im not completely sure though....just keep me updated about a few bugs as u guys test it and ll work on it as time goes along and i will update the thread as such..

nope it isnt its just a port from the incredible 2....problem is i dont understand compiling from sourcodes yet...so maybe later on..

i like sanvolds i used it for a while but im a personal fan of aokp..

Very good ROM. It feels faster than the other ICS ROMs available.
But it has some issues. Touchscreen issues. Desire uses a mediocre touchpanel and some tweaks are needed to work perfectly.
Both the S3 launcher and the browser have erratic touchscreen.
Also ... easy to implement in the next version. Trackpad 2 Awake. MUST for Desire.
That's all. Besides that it feels good. AOKP is always a good choice!

Thank you for this rom, it feels nice. Doesn't have any sort of space scripts like app 2 sd or something does it? I tried to install 2msd and move apps and dalvik, i'll see how it goes.

I'd say, tp2wake \ tp2wake&unlock, to be more precise.
Some people prefer to have only wake, though I never understood them - the chances of accidentally pressing the trackpad are precisely zero, and double-pressing it to wake&unlock is a great usability enhancement.

I never understood the trackpad2wake popularity, just swipe the god damn screen to unlock?

Yeah, it is very smooth and fast... only problem is with memory....
m2sd is not working, s2e also...
It would be nice to implement KSM also...

@all AOKP people: I gave away my Desire. It's been a great time, especially after most noobs (no offence meant) switched to newer devices, but supporting qsd8k in upstream has really become a huge pain, the summer holidays are now over and I have two great projects ahead. For all those reasons, I don't think I'll be able to support the Desire on JB and beyond. I hope you all understand. You're awesome, all of you. Thank you. And see you all on the 2012 Xperia scene

Just delete 40a2sd script before flashing the zip and try to use INT2EXT+

[ROM][11/22/12]5.07 Dcw Simplistic Rom Version 1.24 Final

This is my first try at making a rom. I used 5.07 "more" stock odex version from Captain Throwback as a base. I put this through the kitchen and added a few other things as well as removed many apps that are not needed.
What I Did:
app2sd
moved dalvik to sd
added busy box and busy box run parts
fixed apple patent "app association" I think. Let me know if it doesn't work
Removed a lot of stock apps and widgets(bloatware)
added dsp manager

Yeah I agree! Amazing how well a ROM runs without all the tinkering and tweaks. Don't get me wrong tweaks can be nice...but running a somewhat "virgin" ROM has its advantages. Apps open right up and there seems to be little to no lag as far as how "smooth" this ROM flows.

...But it works, and is useful if you don't want to clear all of your notifications, just a few. Ca1ne had a thread where I think he has quick settings and Swype to clear. If so can I request it be baked into the Rom? People don't have to use it if they don't like it, as they will still have the clear button, just nice option for those like myself that want the mod. Tia.

There is no swiping notifications for 5.07 yet. When it comes available I will more than likely bake it into this rom. Thanks for checking it out.

really liking this rom
upon first boot i had 400 mb available space on my internal storage. the download bar colors are really cool, all the multi-colors are pretty awesome.
can you put back the htc widget under settings that control silent, vibration, ring ? i like to keep the bluetooth, gps,wifi and mode toggle on my desktop.
the gps icon is missing on the pull down menu.
nice job on the font and the red divider lines and over scroll:good: in the menu are cool too

Version 1.05 should be up later today. Testing it while at work today. If all goes well will try to upload it tonight, or tomorrow.

I started out theming Diablos
Alien Chaos Rom. once I finished that I got the erge to
build a new rom so I did.
I build it with the latest OTA,
and took it one step futher
I completely Themed it out.
And Added Tons of mod and Tweeks to it.
The result?
Well you be the judge.
Lots of png’s are themed in this build
I hope you like it.
I put a lot of time into it.
The best part is im not done with it.
You may experience some minor bugs,
So please post them here as you find them.
It will help me to make it even better.

Install Instructions:
How to Flash
back up sd card to pc
partion sd 1024 swap 0
then upgrade
your sd card from ext2 to ext3 or 4.
move backed up sd back on sd card
place rom on sd card
wipe everything except sd card
flash rom
expect 3 reboots because of the a2sd
once done let rom sit for 5 min so it can load up.
next you want to go to the OTA app in your app drawer
and check for updates to the rom.
next download the update and it will build a OTA Updater folder for
you in your sd card, it will put the updates in there for your automaticly.
next you want to reboot into recovery and flash the update
and you will be on the up to date build.
that's it.

lol, yep still lives.
after you flash this rom let it sit for 5 min.
set up your google account
and update what ever apps that need to be updated
thenyou should then do the ota update that is gonna be
poping up in your status bar.
that will add all the extras when its done flashing.
you will see.
don't update youtube it breaks the widget.

Yes OTA updates were fine. Tried to update launcher pro from the play store but would not take. Everything else has been like butter!
