Hi all,
i have been through the firmware tutorial posted by SomeGuyFromHell, which is indeed wihtout any doubt helpful and knowledgeable.
I have a small prob wiht my phone, before coming to your post, i had my initial stock firmware .42 which i rooted with zergrush very long ago. i used that firmware for almost i year now.
Yesterday i decided for some changes in my phone, so i decided to upgrade to .537 via PC companion.
I dont know what happen exactly, when i restated my phone, i can see sony on the bootscreen which was sonyericsson before, and then i find the exclamation symbol at the side of a phone icon, and the latter turns off after a while.
Is my phone brick??
I followed the step of installing stock firmware .42 again through flashtool taking care of all steps to be followed, but again on rebooting same scenario.
i even try the part unbricking in your post but same stuff.
Any help from you guys .. please .. i attached log file from flashtool.
Thanks

hello every one i tried to update my g2x stock , to the 2.3 and when i did it with he lg update tool, it went through the process and i havd to reboot my phone , and then it just got stuck on the S/W and nothing happened i left it for hours , but nothing , so i came to the xda forum and i start reading , and i kept trying the KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.7z, with the kdz file but nothing , it kept on failing , so i spoke to tech support they told me its back order , so they transferred me to lg and they told me i have to send it in i also tried a hard reset but still nothing , same S/w issue , is this mean the phone is brick
Just wondering.. what % did you get stuck at with the LG update tool?
Mines got stuck at 4% because I didnt have the LGUSBModemDriver_WHQL_Eng_Ver_4.8.1 install. So it prompt to do so, and click Refresh.
If you have no luck with the LG update tool, maybe try reflash the NVFlash and do a restore?
I'm running Windows 7 64bit btw.. and after I downloaded and installed that driver.. it only took me 5min to install the update...
740man - did you follow this guy's instructions? I skipped #2 and #4 and it worked great for me (on XP).

Mine quit on 5% BTW. That tool is terrible.
yes i tried the last step , even in windows xp it was just failing i left it for hours , and it just would not wanna reboot , i followed the instructions step by step i get all the way till it tells you to disconnect and remove the battery then press restart , i been working on it since 8 this morning , i been using the lg update tool but when that failed i tried the method above and still same issue , it just wouldn't go pass the s/w , i think there going to send me refurbish one , cheap [email protected]#%$%s

Hey guys,
Im new to xda-developers, and also a noob with my galaxy s plus, just got it one week ago .
And how it had come, i tried to flash my i9001 with Gingerbread 2.3.4 (XXKP4) from samfirmware.com.
OK, first i put my phone into download mode, connected it to my pc, and started flashing with odin multi downloader 4.33. i was wondering how long it took to transfer the data, but after 10 minutes there happened something, and it went on until system.ext4. Exactly at this point, after 1 hour (!) flashing, nothing happened anymore, i waited for one more hour, and finally disconnected my phone.
after trying to restart, the SAMSUNG logo appeared, and then then i saw the following logo:
At the left side is a mobile, at the right side a pc. there is an arrow, from mobile to pc, that is disturbed by a warning sign.
I can still enter download mode, but every try i did failed. always stops at the
system.ext4
file!
Pleeease, i need your help guys! i dont belive it is bricked, but dont know what to do now, already tried to flash original firmware, doenst work!!
greetings
nothing to worry about
since you still can enter the download mode u can flash ur device
try another computer or another os or try other usb ports

that happens to me too, about few weeks ago.
what I did, I downloaded and re-flashed this one:
http://bit.ly/i9001firmware
If I can remember it right, that was 2.3.3 ~ after successfully re-flashing with the above firmware for around 10 minutes. I redo it again in 2.3.4 (I took my 2.3.4 from samfirmware too!)
by the way, if you are re-flashing using a desktop pc... I suggest for you to use the USB port that was built from the motherboard. It was more reliable than using a hub.
Hey guys, I have the same problem.. Can somebody pleaaaaaaaase tell me a good solution?
Vickoy, there is a password on the firmware.... Somebody PLEASE help me!

this works for me
So guys,
After some ports, my XC2304 isn't able to run on flashmode to re-install firmware. Some days ago I create an ftf file for it be flashed by Perfect Flash, the results was sucessfully. Perharps, today I was porting a Z1 rom based on our last update .13. After install the rom by CMW the phone doesn't boot for anyway.
I tryed to reset by back button, no response;
I tryed to remove battery and no response;
I've tryed to boot into flash mode by pressing volume - but only stills on a red led.
I follow some tutorials but no one worked for me, the main problem is "device not recognized" by windows.
Can't connect on Perfect Flash\Sony Update service cause the flash mode doesn't appears.
Well, I was very excited to porting my new rom based on 4.3 AOSP, was some little bugs that I as just solving, but now I'm not able to continue my ports
If someone had the SAME problem and solved it, I'll be glad if you help me!
Best Regards.

I did the same thing like you and had same issue.
Unfortunately, we cant use Flashtool/ SUS/ Perfect Flash to unbrick because there have no driver for our xc.
So, I sent back to SONY yesterday.
Fix your problem using this way

http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-c/general/how-to-install-restore-stock-android-t2832005
Do this before the above link :
remove your back panel and then put your Xperia C for charging and then hit the small reset button near Sim card slot using a pen or a refill; then wait for 5 resonds and stop charging... by this you will be able to switch off your Xperia C and then you can use the link provided above to for your problem

this method doesnt work when you flash a rom for a different device like i did i already order a new motherboard for my xc. this only will solve it...changing motherboard.
And by the way if Red Light is shown then it is Soft Brick and you can very easily repair it. If that light is also not there then you can say that it is a hard brick.
So im preety much a noobie about all this. Anyways,my friend told me that i can install cwm and make my phone better. And i downloaded it,turned bat file and restarted my phone. After that it wouldnt turn on,it would just blind red LED and stay that way, then i put it on charger for whole day and then it was green, and i turned my phone on and it showed sony logo, then charging battery and it turned off again.. I tried with flashtool (at least i think i did) but it didnt work. It flashed it for like 5 sec and nothing, same thing. Also sus didnt work as well. So please if anyone can help me,just speak english not xda language coz i really dont understand the things u say.
Download stock ftf and flash it with Flashtool. Search for tut on how to.
Sent from my D2303
you should download stock kernel, maybe the one from matej. and flash back to stock kernel after using the cwm as xperia j JB has no permanent cwm yet

first I want you to go through this guide :Using Flashtool,
then 2. install the drivers for your xperia j as mentioned in the above guide.
3. if your bootloader is unlocked then try to flash this stock kernel if you were running jelly bean 11.2.A.0.31 : stock kernel by connecting your device in fastboot mode.
if your bootloader is locked then download this stock firmware : 11.2.A.0.31 by connecting your device in flashmode
then Flash this downloaded firmware as mentioned in the above guide.
4.Wait untill flashing completes. start your device when you are told to do so.
Good luck
Problem: When powered on "SONY" logo comes and after that a screen showing a mobilephone with a blue downward arrow and yellow triangle with exclamation mark is shown
History: I was trying to root the phone and after rooting, the phone suggested an OTA update to the software and I gave "Yes" After installing the update when it restarted it came to the above described problem. I tried to flash it with Flash it with the stock ROM to bring it back to original state. Despite that it is still doing the same thing. I have tried to go to bootloader, even that isnt working.
URGENT, guys please help! Its my friend's phone and I dont wanna disappoint that poor chap.
