[JW8][2.3.6][15/sept/12] SAUROM Projekt Music Mute? - Samsung Infuse 4G

Ok so I flash this rom today and I love it so far only problem is that my music keeps "muting" even though the volume is up. Can someone help this semi-noob?
Now for some reason no sound is playing at all! I'ma try reflashing and see what happens

Must be a bad flash. I just checked and mine plays continuously.

[Q] Talking Tom making phone sound disappear!

Hi Guys,
I have been noticing this pattern so thought I shoudl ask here.
I have the Talking Tom (paid version installed). While it worked fine on my DHD, on the sensation, I open the app and try to play with it, after a few seconds the sound disappear.
Even closing the app and pressing the volume rocker it shows media volume and not the phone volume. And the phone is kind of muted, no ring sound, no notification sound.. funny as it doesnt even give an error message.. the sound just disappears!!
The only solution is to soft reset.. again launching talking tom gives the same problem..
Any one can test it for me?
Many thanks!
Had the same problem as you...but I was using this app Vlingo ...however I just had a system update today and so far the sound is fine after I used the same app...fingers crossed

System update as in the ROM update?
Well I have uninstalled Talking Tom from the phone for now.. lets see..
I had the same problem with the talking rex app, thought I was going crazy. Did a soft reset and then later my phone just randomly restarted while entering text on the Internet, debating doing a factory reset. Lots of quirks with this phone, hopefully we get an ota soon.

My phone is stock with just root, but the issue is ringtones or notification sound cant be heard on the phone. I can talk and text regularly. Its just ringtines and notification sounds i cant hear. Is there a fix? Phones did have Icbinb rom, then i odined back to a stock thinking it would fix. But no luck. Sounds still dont play. Thanks.

When you look in the settings, do you have different ringtones and notifications sounds listed as options, or do you only see 'silent'?

yes. in the ringtones and in the notifications, it has all the sounds there. just when i select the sound to preview it, no sound. The phone volume is up. so i know there should be sound. Also the vibrate works. so when a call comes in the phone cal still vibrate. thats how i know im getting a call. And I can use the phone as regular.
Airplane mode maybe? I don't know...sounds like your notification volume is all the way down in your sound / volume settings, but you probably already checked that.

Yeah, I don't like it when things are quirky, either. Have you tried doing a factory data reset?
I was watching a you tube video and the sound became choppy. I thought it was a bad video, so I went to another. I had no sound. Started checking things on my phone, and nothing. I rebooted, reflashed my rom, flashed back to stock, and nothing still... SOUNDS ARE GONE. Volume is turned all the way up. I am running beautiful sgs4g (GB 2.3.5). I flashed to the new official 2.3.6. I also did a factory restore, and wiped data/dalvik cache in the process of doing all this. Is there any fix for this?

Out of curiosity, do you hear sounds if you use headphones?
It might be the external speaker. I was listening to music cause I didn't have earbuds with me. Sound started to crackle and break up. I figured music player was malfunctioning. After some troubleshooting, called T-Mobile. Apparently it is a known hardware issue and covered by warranty. I don't have insurance on my phone, they replaced it for a $25 fee.

Why did they charge you $25? If it is a known hardware issue and covered under warranty, they should have just sent it in and had it fixed for free, or you should've contact samsung directly, and the repair would have been free.
Yeah, but I'm a schmuck.... FML.

Sound goes out

Anyone having a problem with the sound going out on there phone? I have Val final with kj6 theme from racing.
This morning I woke up and didn't have sound out of my speaker. Even though I heard the alarm. I rebooted and it was fine. Then it did it again. I fixed permissions and all was good then it did it again but this time it was just hooked up to the aux jack working. Since I didn't have sound out of the speaker I put it back on the aux Jack and I had nothing. I hit the lock screen gave it a few seconds and it came back. Any ideas?

Try reflashjng with full data/cache/dalvik wipe and see iif that helps I have never had that problem but I alwats wipe everything. Make sure u backup ur data with titanium backup or whatever u use

I do that before and after I flash a ROM. I've now flashed 3 different roms with the same problem. I'm thinking its either a hardware problem or I need to Odin a ROM and start fresh. I've only been using cwm at the moment since I can't get my laptop to see my phone.

Did anyone try flashing beats audio file?

I flashed beats audio file from general android thread.. it states that it will work for any device... I just want to hear some feed back.. if anyone notices a good difference.
Please post your experiences

Works fantastic for me on ICBINB! Higher end headphones are definitely better for this. No problems here.

Ye I'm running on the same rom with a nice pair of headphones... just wanted to make sure I'm not putting it in my head.. I kinda notice the difference

Tried it, didn't like at all.
First, you get no visual indication it works.
Second, Youtube won't play anything, I even updated it, nada.

Higher end headphones will give you better quality regardless .. I don't think it would be much improvement, but Raver liked this mod so its got to do something

I tried it, screwed up my phone. Phone wouldn't boot anymore. No amount of wiping data/cache/dalvik would fix it. Not even flashing a new ROM.
Had to use Heimdall to go back to stock.
I have no idea what happened but I'm not trying that again.
Tried it on VB. Got stuck in bootloop. Had to Odin my phone. Won't try again unless get several confirms that it's OK. Such a hassle.

Running VB + booster and AS ... bootlooped here, too. I was really only curious about beats, but it isn't important enough for me to try harder to get it running.

Bluetooth streaming problem with stock gb

Hey...anyone else having choppyness issues with stock 2.3.5? Mine was working fine on froyo, but since updating, bt music streaming is choppy. My bt works fine with phone audio, it's just music. This happened with totally stock music player on totally stock phone. I have since rooted and have tried a few music players after deleting stock player. All with the same results. I'm running v20c on Rogers if that matters. I've been watching xda like a hawk since gb hoping to see someone else with this trouble and a fix, but no luck yet. As I said before, it was working flawlessly on froyo, but if going back is the only option I won't do it. HATED froyo. Really bad battery life and super annoying random shutdowns nearly put me over the edge.

I use my O3D in my car connect it via bluetooth and listen to my music all the time, apart from my battery dying quicker then usual i don't have the choppy music problem at all. I have played music in my car with froyo, 21a, 21b, 20e, 20f and now 21d no choppy music at all you might want to clear your cache...
Power off the phone, once powered off hold volume down and power the phone will come on and die again thats normal keeping your finger on the volume down, let go of power and re press and hold power as you continue to hold volume down. When the phone comes on let go of power but keep holding volume down.
Once ur in your recovery menu now if your on stock recovery just clear everything except date.. If your on clockwork recovery clear cache and dalvik and then restart your phone...
Tried the cwm steps but no change.

Thanks for the suggestion though. I've never flashed a rom before, but maybe I'll try it. Does anyone have a suggestion for a working bt rom?
