I Can't post in the development section to ask for this!
Any one Tried Akop Build 5 (24-10-2012) on smultron?
some people on the orginal thread are saying it is slow.
Did they fix that?
I already Downloaded the rom but can't try it now and switch between the kernels (I'm on hasa miui ics)
as I'm going to go to the country side in few hours and my time is critical.
Speedy reply will be appreciated

Hello everyone,
Sorry for not understanding but i am new to this and definitely willing to learn, Id like to know what is the best Hero Rom (smoothest with the most things working) and if once i have installed it, is it possible to go back to my normal rom if i dont like it.
Id like to know how to download apps such as Apps2SD and themes such as the good ones on here (is a special rom needed or a certain rom ?)
Sorry for all the questions but please help i am willing to make a dontation to somebody who can help me.
Thanks Everyone
This is a place for discussion for more people who are experienced, thats why its called "development" as for themes those are under the "themes" section.....
if your looking for n00b resources for full on n00bs please don't post annoying threads here. Learn to look **** up on google and in under 10 seconds you would have found
http://theunlockr.com/category/howto/android_how_tos/
for how to root, one click rom install, and how to restore back to factory. Or even above your own damn post there are n00b resrouces.
as for ROMs this is the DEVELOPMENT section. So people need to stop asking for a perfect rom. Use cyanogen stable roms if you want stablility. If not ROMs come out every 2-3 days for evil and every couple weeks for other ROMs. They are NOT stable
Qtek=fastest most stable does not work on most MT3G (this is believed to be kernel issues with 2.7xxxx)
Evil= 50/50 depending on his builds, he likes to f* stuff up alot and patch within a few hours
cyanogen 4.1.11.1=android 1.6 AOSP(android open source project)

I did do a search and i did find that site although since i am such a noob i dint even know what rooting my Magic was for :/.
Could you tell me what rooting is for ? eg if i root my device once does that mean i can use all the stuff you guys are uploading eg just put a theme on it straight away?
Cheers James
rooting your phone gives you controll of the / files of yoru phone. It lets you install roms and such. i suggest looking at the latest video of rooting your magic and the video of how to install a rom. it'll put you right at par with where alot of users on this forum are at. only like 15 mins of video too.
Did you miss the sticky in this forum? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538979
can any one can put the cm7's phone on the sense rom and can use it ???
it is because the sense rom's phone are very easy wrong touch to end the call.........
i want to change it to cm7's phone on it.............can any one help me or share some???
there is nothing like cm7 phone or sense phone. You can chose whatever u wish to install in your phone. look in desire hd development section and read how to root and then install custom roms( custom roms = cm or sense rom) . you have a lot of reading to do . try asking questions in the appropriate thread rather then making a new thread.
You are kidding me???!!!
How many places have you asked this same question??
I've answered your question in the general forum.
Do NOT cross post.

in the above links you can see that ics have been ported to armv6 processor so i think with some hard work of the developers we can get it too
Very interesting! LG Optimus is also Armv6 & the screen shots, progress looks promising..hope someone like Marcellusbe or Hillbeast can look into this project..
For the Galaxy 3, I think it will be far more easier than CM7 because of all the work of marcellusbe (especially for the device config).
Even me, with my limited knowledge of device porting, managed to build AOSP ICS yesterday.
Check the CM7 development thread, Apollo and marcellusbe successful boot ICS.
very interresting, my wife has that phone hehe so ill keep an eye on that thread. thnx.
Dont know (yet) about aosp, but i gave a try to cm9, and it comes up with a lot of errors.
I'll try on with aosp today, see if it's easier to compile for the time...
Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dude
thanks ! Synching repo now...
I know marcellusbe and apollo (and maybe hillbeast too) successfully compiled it for our phone, but dont know if it's booting properly...

I tried both. But there are the same errors. (quite easy to fix though)
If you want I'll help you to fix them.
For AOSP, you have to modify a bit the device config before starting the compilation.
After, when you'll try to boot ICS, you'll need a custom kernel because BOOTCLASSPATH (in the init.rc) has changed. If you want, I'll upload my custom version of g3mod which supports ICS, GB and Froyo.
But I think we should move to the "official" thread

I fixed couple of errors on cm9 yesterday , but i wanted to try on aosp, see if it was cleaner !
Thanks a lot for your help, i accept with great pleasure.
I'd love to post in the dev section, but i've not reached the 10 posts limit, so i'm condemned to stay here a bit longer...
No worries, i'll come asap

you mean it works ?? if so you can release/upload a .tar file (odin) so we all can try c9 with ics... ,. and yupp ( cm9 = 100 X stock ics )
It needs a lot of fixes (i'm stuck at the audio part in aosp) before having something really usable.
Lots of people way more clever than i am are also working on that, so maybe someone will find a fix...

Hi,
I have Froyo installed on my Galaxy 3 right now but it crashes too often and is slow, it also have lots of "Orange" apps and theming, was installed a year go maybe.
I checked this sticky post, but i'm completely new to the Android scene so I'm not sure which of the available ROMS is the most stable and fast for daily use. I guess ICS and gingerbread are out of the question, so can someone please suggest the best Froyo ROM.
Thanks
here you can read some suggestions:

How what? All you need is to unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and then you could flash whatever ROM you want.

No there isn't a pure google based rom yet for the oneS . Your best option for now is the cyanogenmod 10 rom, which look very close to stock google.

To sum up what was mentioned...
No, there is not currently a pure, stock, AOSP rom for the 1S. Cyanogenmod 10 is the closest you can get, as it looks and operates the most like stock, however has many additional features (both visual and performance wise). Here is the link to download CM10 for our device http://get.cm/?device=ville .
Note: CM is releasing "nightlies" which means pretty much everyday an updated rom is released to fix or add features. As of right now, the rom works great, however there are some issues with the camera (video camera does not work properly, although there is a fix).
If you have not flashed a rom to your 1S yet, you will have to do quite a bit of research to get it done. This requires unlocking your bootloader through the HTCdev website, and downloading and installing several files before you can install a new rom. This guide can help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 .
Hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
BTW, yes Q&A would have been the correct section, but don't sweat it. Brandonrz is apparently disturbed in some manner.
